From the moment you walk into Jar, you know there is something special about this place. Very few restaurants in L.A. have had the lasting power as this one. We greeted by two very professional hosts and then our server. All three were top notch! The food was brilliant. Started w/ a celery purée and little gem Caeser. Killer. Then my wife the had pot roast which was so delicious. I had steak cooked to a perfect MR. The best was the kale in a mushroom jus. Amazing. We just made another reservation to bring some friends. Great job 👩‍🍳 Chef...

Jar is hands down one of the best steakhouses in town. The dishes are simple, comfort food in style, made of only the best ingredients and served by such nice and accommodating people. My family is comprised of straight up difficult patrons and lacking in manners often. But they accommodate us with smiles each and every time we eat their great steaks, seafood, distinctive appetizers - love those deviled eggs! - and I truly appreciate them for what they do right. My only critique would be of the Mixology program in that, well, there isn't one per se, and really should be for the menu they offer. Eat. At. Jar.

Charming restaurant with over-the-top amazing dishes! We tried so many things on this menu and loved each one more than the next! The chef visited our table and complimented our choices! I want to go back and take my husband. It's a perfect date night restaurant with a cool accessible vibe.

oh my gosh. so delicious- my husband Tate and i come to los angeles once a year (we're from South Louisiana) and we're so glad our friends told us about this restaurant. we indulged last night! best martinis, steak, cream corn, onion rings, crab deviled eggs and butterscotch dessert. the cherry on top of this was when we arrived and let everyone know we were Deaf, they went out of their way to switch servers since they had one that knew ASL. truly appreciated that. Thanks again Cerri. It was a fab date night out much needed. we'll be back!

Jar is like going home. I feel such a warmth with the food and staff . It's like a big hug.I love the food. Chopped salad is amazing, you have to try the drinks . The steaks are out of this world and if you go Sunday get the fried chicken. I love that it has its place in cinema history being in LALA Land . They have this drink made with Hilhaven Lodge whiskey and seasonal jam which is To die for....... go but save me a seat at the bar

Visited JAR to celebrate a birthday. Warm and welcoming vibe, great service and food. Steaks prepared perfectly. Went nuts over the onion rings. True battered dipped the way you would expect at a premium steakhouse. Most definitely going back.

A hidden Gem! The food was full of flavor and the portions were just right! Get the Pot Roast with the homemade applesauce and squash, it's incredible! The steak and pork chop were seasoned well and cooked to perfection! Service was top notch! Our waiter was fun, genuine, and kept the courses flowing perfectly! Cannot wait to go back!

Jar is a Modern American Chophouse that stands for “Just Another Restaurant.” However, for me, it is not just another restaurant. Jar is a very intimate, small, and delicious restaurant with excellent service, great food, and great ambiance. When entering the restaurant, I already knew I would have a wonderful time. We had perfect seating, and our waiter, John, and the wait staff were very on top of it, and everything came out in perfect timing, not too slowly but not too quickly. We started with appetizers and drinks. I am all for a White Russian, so that was my first drink, and then for the table, we got a dozen oysters and black mussels. I'm actually not a fan of mussels, but these mussels were really delicious. For my main meal, I got a skirt steak. John recommended that each of us get one side and share for the table. I went with the purple yams, which was delicious! I had never had them before, and I was surprised by how really, really, really good they were. As for dessert, we got three for the table; this included the chocolate pudding, the banana cream pie, and a slice of red velvet cake. I also got a cappuccino because I have to get coffee with dessert. The desserts were a little disappointing; the only really good thing was the banana cream pie. The red velvet cake was really dry, and the chocolate pudding was just blah. Some things to remember: If you’re going to head to jar, which I recommend, they do not have valet parking which I did not like. We ended up parking on the street, but we found out after the fact that we could have parked in the garage across the street. If you want to dine inside, you must show your vaccination card and ID. If you do not have it, you can dine outside. However, I feel to get the whole experience of Jar, inside dining is the way to go

Jar is an acronym for Just Another Restaurant, which specializes in classic American dishes but elevated. Last night was my first time dining for dinner but it won’t be my last. I love how low lit it is and every seat in the house is very comfortable whether you sit in a booth or one of the tables. Our server John was also very knowledgeable, funny, and did a great job. We arrived 20 minutes early and didn’t expect to be seated until our booked time but they offered to seat us early and did so, which was really appreciated. They have many great menu options so I will have to come back again to try a few more but this time I started with the Roasted Beets and they were really delicious. There was a healthy size of Burrata with it and the beets were perfectly sweet. For my entrée I chose their signature dish The Pot Roast. It was one of the better ones that I have ever had and eating it with the creamy horseradish on the side is a must. Honestly it’s so good I would go back for that dish alone. For dessert I chose the butterscotch Budino because it’s one of my personal favorite desserts and it did not disappoint. It was a large portion but still went quickly. Overall it was a really nice dinner and I would recommend to anyone for any occasion. We sat next to a large work dinner, but I think it would also be perfect for a date or a dinner with friends or family. I will be back in the near future.

This is hands down the Best Restaurant in Los Angeles. The food is spectacular, artistic, and literally never misses. It manages to simultaneously be interesting and unique while homey and comfortable. Dinner at the bar is the best evening.

Delicious classics and many reinventions. The atmosphere is so regal and chic but not overly done. It is a true exception in San Francisco in terms of service and atmosphere. The food is good if not great and i would choose Jar for many good conversations with close friends to discuss life changes while having a meal deserving of the occasion
