Made our first trip to Playa Provisions today to visit the restaurant of my fav Top Chef and our brunch time experience did not disappoint. From amazing fresh, chilled oysters to out of this world lobster roll, and shrimp and crab eggs benedict delicious beyond words! The food was everything that I expected it to be. Even in a packed dining room the service was top notch, and our waitress was knowledgeable and lovely. The restaurant itself is fun and interesting with an earthy beach feel. We couldn't leave without purchasing some glasses from the store and taking home a pint from the Small Batch ice cream counter. We'll definitely be back soon -Thanks PP!
Went there for dinner and drinks, saw the menu, and HAD to go back the next morning for breakfast. Awesome place, great staff, incredible food.
We popped in for dinner last night (Sunday Nov 26th) and had a great meal. The service was fantastic, and the food outstanding. There is even a speakeasy at the back with some live piano on Thursday and Sundays. We missed seeing Brooke but she needs her own time like we all do. Maybe next year.
During an airport layover, we decided to venture to Playa Provisions. We got to the coffee/ice cream place around 4pm, ice cream (lemon olive oil pistachio) was super delicious. We had reservations in the restaurant at 5PM. Great team, positive staff energy, food came out quick and absolutely delicious. Would come back in a heartbeat. Great concept and amazing menu
A few of my friends and I went to Playa Provisions for lunch on a weekend. The place was packed, so we are glad we made a reservation ahead of time. I didn't explore the inside of the restaurant in its entirety, but from what I could see, this restaurant has multiple seating areas, and each area has a different style/vibe. I was able to request seating in a specific section, and the host was kind enough to accommodate that request. Our server was very knowledgeable and walked us through the entire menu and her personal favorites. We ordered a dozen oysters for the table and picked multiple different types to try them all. The oysters were fresh. The oysters came with 3 sauces, and all of them were pretty good.
I got their red adobo chilaquieles, and it was delicious. The dish wasn't served as hot, so it cooled down fast, but that's okay. It definitely packed the flavors I was looking for. Overall, it's a great restaurant. Plus, the parking in this area was super easy, which is a rare thing in LA.
This was my first visit, though I've heard about Playa Provisions from friends. We met some friends for brunch on a Saturday morning. It was hard to decide what to get because everything looked so good! I started with the cinnamon roll with candied bacon on top...and that was spectacular! We sampled the scallops and a couple of the oysters...very good. And I opted for the crab and shrimp Benedict - also wonderful. Great coffee, attentive service, fun atmosphere...all made for a lovely morning. My only issue is that the acoustics are challenging. It was super hard to hear our dining companions which was a bit frustrating...we were meeting a friend we hadn't seen in quite awhile and it was difficult to hear the conversation.
Great place to stop if you’re biking Redondo beach. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was stellar. Girlfriend had the salmon bagel. She said the salmon was absolutely delicious but the bagel was pretty lackluster. Anyways, Atmosphere was nice! Can get crazy busy at lunch time though.
I am a huge Brooke Williamson fan from watching her compete and come up with amazing dishes on Top Chef and Food Network.
So, as fans, we had to visit her restaurant. The setting and location is beautiful. So coastal and beachy! The food was so close to *great* but seems like it just fell short? We tried the fish tacos, the yellowfin tuna and tiger shrimp ceviche, and the salmon toast. All of it was good, just no “wow.” Maybe ordered the wrong thing, would still go back and try again!
Reservations recommended, which we had, but it appears that today, Tuesday was not as busy, 6:45. Seated immediately in a very comfortable heated patio. Our server Great, attentive, friendly and provided excellent recommendations. Don't recall her name but she was from Ohio! One could feast on the side dishes to share . The calamari, black ink risotto, crab Mac n cheese all great. For main entrees, salmon salad, fish and chips and lobster roll. All generous portions. The dressing on salad was light, sweet and refreshing. We are not alcoholic drinkers so our bill was reasonable for all we did order. However the cocktails looked very tempting, combinations interesting. We were also told the menu changes. Great experience
Well, it already has 1000 reviews saying it’s good. I couldn’t agree more.
Friendly service. The food does not take long to be served but it does take time. It’s worth it.
Clean restroom. Very important.
Good vibes.
I did see a fly inside the dessert display. So I’m avoiding that… but it was just that day…
Parking valet is $10 but just drive around and look for free parking. Read signs.
It's very good and they have a variety of dishes, most of them being sea food and fish. very tasty and very good. Atmosphere and service by Barbara excellent. Totally recommended
