Great place for a group or intimate date. The patio is lovely when its lit up at night. Lots of vegetarian vegan options including a vegetable ramen or the kabocha squash roll. The staff is curious and the service is quick.

Incredible. I have tried many Japanese Restaurants around LA. This is the most creative, consistently excellent one. Though many dishes also appear on other menus, the dishes at IRoha are always fresh and tasty.
My favorites include the CA roll w/spicy scallops; the 5 mushrooms w/asparagus; the black cod; the spicy miso soup w/ mushrooms and the crab hand rolls.
I don't eat raw (I know; I know) so you can judge that for yourself. The best thing is that they now have NOODLES! Yum.

Under the radar.... ...okay, so it's in UrbanSpoon's top 100, but, seriously, you'd think there'd be more people in this place for lunch.

I've been to Iroha several times and I'm never disappointed. The sushi is pretty standard fare for Ventura Blvd. (that's way above average, by the way).

And the setting is very cool. It feels almost like a hideout. A rather dark patio, with streaks of sunlight peaking through.

This is a cool lunch location.

The best in LA. At time of review, this is my favorite sushi restaurant. Go and ask to sit at the bar on the end that Jose works at (head chef). His recommendations are amazing!

Nice cozy restaurant. We came early at 11 for sushi and we were almost the only ones. The food was great quality and tasted delicious. All the seafood on all the dishes were soft and fresh. First the orange panther came out (salmon, shrimp tempura, lemony). Delicious. It came with fried onion crisps but i think it tastes better without the crisps. Then came out the small seafood ramen which they fully loaded with seafood. It was great, very flavorful. Came with fried onion crisps and finely chopped green onions which did add to the flavor. The dynamite was okay. Had better at other places. Baked black cod roll was interesting. It had a different softer texture sushi rice and had a sweeter milder sushi taste. Last was the baked 5 mushroom roll. It was heavy on the sushi vinegar and the Asparagus overtook much of the flavor, but i enjoyed it because I love mushrooms. I would come out again to try out the other things on the menu

All I got to say is that this place is delicious! I had a late night craving of sushi and with this place open till midnight I decided to drop by. Did not disappoint! What ever regular rolls you typically order, this place flips them for the better. Even down to the Philadelphia roll! Tuna on crispy brown rice, mussels, D.O.C., the one wrapped in cucumber served with eel sauce... there was not one roll that did not blow my mind! Plus I love the atmosphere here compared to other bourgie spots you would need to go to for this quality sushi.

Update: this quickly became our favorite sushi place on Ventura and we've been several dozen times. We recently visited again post covid this past weekend with some friends and had a wonderful time. I've tried almost everything on the menu at this point and have yet to come across something that wasn't really good. From sushi, sashimi, ramen, or rolls you can't go wong with anything here. The food, staff and service are all excellent for any type of occasion. We've been here twice now. The first time we sat at a table and the second time we sat at the bar. When eating sushi I find that sitting at the bar is far more enjoyable as you have a close, direct connection with the chef as he prepares your food. The fish here is always exceptionally delicious, the Toro sushi and sashimi is some of the most moth watering melt in your mouth tuna belly I've had anywhere in LA. Highly recommended to anyone who is a lover of sushi or just wants to try a delightful place to eat with incredible food.

It was simply the best. Very delicious without any fishy aftertaste. The service is fast and we didn't have to wait to be seated. Lucky or not we were able to sit inside. My favorite was the ceviche sushi, it doesn't have any rice which is perfect for summer or if you're looking for something without carbs. The seafood spicy soup was also very good. I definitely recommend this restaurant. A well deserved ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have been visiting Iroha for few years. Before and after pandemic. Food: I like to stick to sushi and rolls. Soups are good as well. Rest of the entries could be hit and miss (lamb chops). Atmosphere : much pleasant when it less crowded. Service: helpful Will keep visiting (would have give 4 and half stars if that was an option).

Great sushi! Everything we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. Not much space between tables. Servers were decent but not particularly friendly.

My fave sushi spot in the valley. I’ve been going for maybe 15 years. Always delicious sushi and always good service. The outdoor seating they added is cute and nice too. I actually prefer it now to inside.

Ok… I have been living in Los Angeles now for 10 years and have tried ALL MANNER of sushi joints, from the quirky new-age Hollywood spots, to the up class Malibu spots like Nobu, to the mom and pop family-run for generations spots like Brother’s and Little Brother’s Sushi in Woodland Hills… and THIS SPOT IS THE TOP. I haven’t had one bad thing from here, and the Orange Panther is the single best sushi roll I have ever had from anywhere in the world, hands down. Try it. You won’t regret it. I don’t know what it is, but the fish is SOOOO fresh and the ingredients so perfectly balanced that eating here feels like eating ART. I always leave more than satisfied: I leave here content with my life as an embodied soul in metaphysical equilibrium with God and the universe, simply because this sushi is THAT damn good.

Iroha is a must every time I visit LA! The albacore is fresh every time and the crab hand roll is extremely filling. They no longer had the seating out front this time which was disappointing but the service was still great. Brought some first timers with this time and they all enjoyed their meals as well!

A little busy, a little wait, totally worth it. This is a great place for a delicious meal, we tried many different things from soups to sushi, sashimi and tempura, all were fabulous, tasted fresh and were well presented. The service came with a smile and was knowledgeable about the menu. The menu to be fair can be a little daunting, but that doesn't detract from how utterly delicious everything is. Might be a top five sushi place, we'll be back for sure.

I don’t love sushi, but I think Iroha made me fall in love. This was absolutely phenomenal. I have never been more impressed with sushi, and the price was right! I looked at many reviews for the best reasonably priced sushi in LA, and this was absolutely worth the 25 minute drive from the downtown LA area. Can’t wait to come back!
