Vegan perspective: I loved loved loved this place! My partner and I shared a margarita and had a nice time just relaxing outside with chips. Then the taco came and gosh the bowl! So much yum!
Had the carne asada burrito. I'm not a fan of rice and beans in a buritto, but they nailed it! The food was absolutely delicious! Burrito was very generous and perfectly grilled. Great atmosphere. We ate on the patio.
I am pleasantly surprised at the flavor these tacos! The service was amazing, the staff is great at recommendations. The guacamole is fresh and has a great taste of lime, the salmon taco was flavorful, pineapple on the carnitas tacos is amazing. Do yourself a favor and get a bottle of the hot sauce to take home!
The chips and salsa were equally as good as the tacos were. We both had our favorite carnitas tacos, my wife had a cauliflower taco, and I had a beef barbacoa taco. Everything was equally satisfying.
The food is very clean, healthy and natural tasting. Packaged very clearly and nicely. Above all, their manager, Jacob, is absolutely wonderful. He is extremely professional and does whatever he can in his power to solve any issues. Very hospitable and pleasant. Top quality service, interaction and customer care. Friendly, nice staff as well. I went to the one in West Hollywood - in a market area - and wasn’t impressed. But took my colleague here today since he wanted to check it out. And I must say this one blew it out of the park! Street corn, barbacoa taco, chicken tinga taco- all delicious. Wash it down with a Mexican coke!
First time @ Trejo's Tacos (at the LaBrea location). I had the Spicy Shrimp Burrito with chips & salsa and a Mexican Coke. Really good meal and I look forward to coming here again soon.
Went here with my boyscout troop after a summer camp on catalina Island. The food was very good and the atmosphere even better. Our troop is big fans of Danny Trejo, so it was cool to visit one of his restaurants. Got a bottle of hot sauce and a souvenir water bottle from here.
I was surprised how mild the taco flavor was but definitely improved with the hot sauce. Would be fine for kids and seniors along with adults who aren't fans of too much spice. Clean and with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Order via the bar area, paper menu on counter top plus plastic encased version, they give you a table number and it is delivered shortly. Options to buy souvenirs. Reasonable amount of time for service especially since it seems to run with a small but efficient staff. The outdoor seating was beautiful along with the weather during our meal. Great for our fast lunch break but I could also see it being enjoyable for socializing with friends and family for a lengthier meal.
The parking here is the challenge, but if you can score a spot, it’s worth the effort because the food and service are fantastic. The weather was awesome to enjoy lunch outside. We shared chips and salsa with drinks, and pretty quickly, our main meals came out. My son had the chicken tinga quesadilla, my husband had the steak asada quesadilla, and I had an El Hefe salad with mushroom asada. Delicious food all around.
