My husband, who’s French, and I have been to this restaurant a few times now and we love it. It’s really hard to find good French food in the states, especially food up to a Frenchman’s standards, but this place blew us away. I first saw the restaurant on the PBS show, “Mind of a Chef” on Netflix and I drug my husband there to give it a shot. He was skeptical at first but as soon as the escargot and bread came out, we knew we found our go to French food place. We go here on special occasions because it’s a little pricey but it’s so worth it. Worth the wait, worth the money, worth the small space. Everything is delicious and I highly recommend going there if you’re craving some unique and authentic French food. Thank you guys!
What an utterly charming experience! From the music to the decor and the staff, I could have sat there sampling one dish after another for hours. Wait.. I did that! One lovely tequila, lemongrass and coconut milk drink to start, 3 starters and 2 entees in the middle, and ended with one celebratory cup of yummy, chocolatey, pillowy heaven. Please...treat yourself!
Wonderful place! Great food with fantastic service. The music was an interesting choice but didn't hinder the experience. Our server Benjamin helped elevate our night of celebration for our engagement. It was very fun to sit "court side" to the kitchen and watch all the dishes be prepared. We would definitely come back for a special celebration or if we are in the area.
LA legendary food critic Jonathan Gold (RIP) favorite. The menu is essentially the same, so is the high food quality. The good thing is now they take reservation and I was even able to get a last minute "table" on a busy Saturday evening and that really saved my day. This place is not for everyone because of the bar/deli style seat arrangement but I found it lively and great for people watching. Highly recommend.
The food was excellent and the service was great. The staff were all very friendly. It is very small inside but there are tables outside with heaters. It is a bit pricey, $26 for a bowl of soup.
This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in Los Angeles. The cocktails, food, and service surpassed my expectations. The cocktails were unique, agreat pour & well balanced. The baguette and butter are a must. Each entrée was delicious. I was drinking the sauce of the mussels. We had a dessert and Ma Chérie. Perfect ending to fantastic meal. Thank you,(both) Connor(s), Jeneé & Ben.
Once you enter the tiny French bar-style inspired restaurant the experience of open style kitchen as well as the hustle and bustle of the waiters and bus boys shuffling behind you, the eating experience is much more personalized and intimate. It’s a loud restaurant and not suitable for groups larger than 4 but the food all tasted very pristine. I’d highly recommend Petit Trois
Returned after a 10 year hiatus, it’s still a gem. The classics are nostalgic and comforting, and the service is exactly what I want when dining solo: welcoming but not overbearing. The French onion soup is outstanding, and bigger than it needs to be. The escargot is an excuse to drink garlic butter. It gets cosy at the bar, and the neighbours inevitable strike up a conversation, but all thoroughly enjoyable.
My sincere appreciation overflows for the exceptional food and impeccable service I had the privilege of experiencing. Every aspect of my visit, from the moment I stepped through the door to the last delectable bite, left an indelible mark on my heart.
The culinary journey I embarked upon was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was a masterpiece, meticulously crafted with flavors that danced harmoniously on my palate. The attention to detail, the quality of ingredients, and the skillful execution all combined to create a symphony of taste that was nothing short of perfection.
Equally deserving of praise is the impeccable service that accompanied this gastronomic adventure. The warmth, professionalism, and genuine care of the staff elevated the entire experience. Their attentive nature and eagerness to ensure my utmost satisfaction enhanced every moment, making me feel not just like a guest, but a cherished one.
Gratitude fills my heart for the sumptuous feast and the extraordinary service that transformed an ordinary meal into an unforgettable memory. To the culinary artisans and the dedicated staff, I extend my heartfelt thanks for an experience that will forever remain etched in my mind.
I had the pleasure of dining at Petit Trois, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The service was impeccable, with a staff that was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also eager to share their love for French cuisine. The food was a true gastronomic adventure, with each dish bursting with flavor and creativity. The ambiance was the perfect blend of sophistication and comfort, making it an ideal spot for a special evening. Don't miss the opportunity to savor the flavors of France right here in this hidden gem!
The moment I stepped into the door, I felt like I was back into a small French joint when I was in Paris. The counter top, bar top, sit on your jacket vibe is unforgettable, except for maybe Doja Cat in the back ground. It is tucked into a little corner on S. Highland Ave just passed the million dollar homes.
The meal was perfect, it was definitely one of the best French meals which I have had in my life, and I can count those with my fingers. For the cooking style, which is traditional French with a bit of twist, definitely blows out the ones in Chicago, and I have tried them all.
The escargot was cooked perfectly, in their shells, the way they should be cooked. The sauce is perfectly balanced, not overly garlicky, and you can taste the tender snails. It is also good for bread dipping obviously. The $25 French onion soup with veal broth is worth every cent, it is light and flavorful, the combination of gruyere and emmantal cheese added more depth without taking over the soup completely. The French Omelette was unbelievable. Most people don't understand what is the big deal about an Omelette, but only if you know what it takes to make a French Omelette, just from the simple egg beating process to the cooking process, it is an art form and the most basic test for a good French chef. The key is to keep the well done exterior with a silky texture but a half cooked semi interior and taste with just salt and pepper. The Boston lettuce on the side was a perfect compliment. The roast duck breasts on the other hand was tender and juicy, flavor explosion with the red wine fig and shallot confit.
We were to full to get to the dessert so we will just have to save more room next time. I would give this place 10 stars if I could.
For our first time here we had the “Holy trinity” as the waitress called it: Parisian omelette, onion soup and the Big Mec. We’re definitely coming back to try the full menu. Cocktails were also on point and service was great including the kitchen staff 😊
