Second time we try this restaurant in Los Angeles at Santa Monica.
Dining here with the beautiful beach view. Recommend to come on sunset time.
Keeping with the great service and great meal. Lobster is the signature dish.
Ordered one set Oysters (8pcs), one clam chowder soup, one crab cake and one grilled lobster.

Beautiful ocean front view and amazing menu!! Our server Blake was on point with great recommendations and very friendly. We dined for lunch and tried the Gulf Shrimp & Octopus Ceviche Tostada (YUMMY), the Yellowfin Tuna and the Grilled Day Boat Scallops- all were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. If you’re reading this review, you must try!

We are here while on family vacation looking for quality seafood. The staff were friendly and helpful. Charlie was our waitress and was amazing! True customer service with a smile! All the food was awesome, you gotta have the banana cake for dessert!
We had: clam chowder, crab cake, yellow fin tuna, king crab legs, halibut, lobster Mac and cheese, and banana cake

Let's be honest, it's super pricey, but also extravagant and wonderful. Great service, extraordinary food, and assuming you sit where you can see the beach, a great view! Went there for my birthday and would do it again. If you're like me, you will want to donate to a charity after you eat there, just to help yourself feel better for spending so much on the food. But it would be worth it!

First off. Our waiter Simon was the best. He was friendly, very helpful, and informative. It was my birthday and we wanted to share everything. He went above and beyond.
We first had drinks. My husband ordered Simon's beer of choice and I got 99 problems and peach ain't one. Which we both enjoyed. Then appetizers are clam chowder, calamari, prawns, and crab cake. The main course was pasta, the whole lobster grilled, and Brussels. For dessert the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, and caramel or butterscotch pudding with salted mascarpone. Every single thing was delicious and fresh. The atmosphere was beautiful.

A nice restaurant in Santa Monica! Great service, nice ambience, fantastic food, wonderful location — a cool spot in Santa Monica! The mixed grill plater is not to be missed!

I have seen this place for years, that includes living and visiting LA. My wife and I were craving seafood and decided to finally try this spot. Gosh, we didn't know what we were missing!
We made a same day reservation on a Friday. We arrived early and we were able to order a drink in the bar area while they got our table ready. It didn't take long at all before we were seated next to a window with an ocean view.
As for the food, we ordered the lobster cocktail, lobster salad, clam chowder, and the gumbo. The lobster cocktail came with lemon, butter, and was served over lettuce. I loved how fresh and meaty the lobster was! There was plenty of it on the salad too which was nice. The clam chowder was hot, creamy, and had soft pieces of potato and delicious clam. Finally, the star of the show was the gumbo! It was very flavorful, had plenty of meat, and two large pieces of delicious shrimp. I liked that the gumbo wasn't heavy, it had just the right amount of rice and a hearty base (not creamy and filling).
The service was great and we were assisted and greeted by multiple people. I would definitely come back next time in Santa Monica!

The restaurant has a great atmosphere.
The staff were super-friendly and very professional. The food was pretty decent

Reserve a table if you must, but sit by the windows. You'll have a view of the pier, the coast, and the beach, as long as it's not too cloudy. The food is decent too! The three lbs lobster is delicious, but you'll pay. The service is quick and friendly, and there is a valet. I'd say the attire is on the nicer side of casual.

As part of a whirlwind trip to the end of Route 66 and Santa Monica Pier, my lovely bride and I snuck into The Lobster. The valet parking was very easy and a quick trip upstairs took us to an amazing midday meal. We were greeted immediately and seated near the windows looking out over the beach and the ocean! The view was amazing and the food and service were excellent! Honestly, we were looking for a place to park close to the pier, little did we realize what was next! The food, the view, and a quick walk down to the pier to grab an ice cream for dessert and a t-shirt from the shack at the end of Route 66!
I would highly recommend The Lobster for a great meal, great atmosphere, and a beautiful view of the pier and beach happenings! The jambalaya was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went here for my birthday today and I loved everything about this place ! Quick and efficient people and very friendly I felt welcomed ! The food was great but if you’re going to come here make sure that you have money lol it’s a little expensive but I can see why totally worth it ! I will be returning again thank you lobster family ❤️

Great atmosphere, great service, love the hot towel at the end. Food was good, lobster Mac and cheese in my opinion was too cheesy, too much fancy cheese took the lobster taste away. The gumbo was a bit on the salty side. The potatoes and crab cake were the best. They have valet parking btw. Also great view duh!

The view by the windows is great! Our waiter was very attentive and they brought a cute little slice of cheesecake with a candle at the end for my birthday. The lobster roll was tasty, although there was more bread than lobster. The clam chowder was good but not sure if worth the price. The Ocean Breeze Margarita was very strong. Definitely pricey but a very nice experience for a once a year celebration.

Our waiter Pepe was incredible. He made our meal very special.
The shrimp cocktail was incredible. I don't think we have ever had such huge sweet shrimp with a great sauce with horseradish. We also split the butter salad with an incredible dressing and huge succulent bacon chips. Then we split a three pound lobster that was to die for. Just so sweet and delicious. We also had to have the lobster mac and cheese which was filled with lobster and cooker perfectly. The wine list was great so we shared a bottle of Gruener that we loved and the view is just incredible. Just a perfect night thanks to the Staff and Chef!

Excellent service! The staff was awesome. I don't recall my servers name, but she was superb! The atmosphere, ambiance, the views... Everything was fantastic. Every bit of food ordered was cooked/prepared to perfection. The drinks (I love margaritas) some of the best. I will definitely be back.

Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten, service was impeccable, waiter was wonderful. Plates could definitely be shared between two ppl. Food was a little more expensive then expected but very much worth it.

The location and ambiance were great! However, the food was just ok. I ordered the crab cakes and they were dry. Others at my table stated their food was ok as well.
From the time we ordered our food till it was at the table was like 5 mins top, which tells me they pre-cook their food.
Our waiter was awesome by the way.

This fancy restaurant has the perfect Santa Monica beachfront spot. The restaurant’s glass walls make the view of the Santa Monica’s ferris wheel very distracting yet entertaining. The changing light patterns of the fun ride are spectacular. Perfect ambiance, interior is cozy and elegant. Great crowd. Servile staff. The VIP treatment was indulging yet heart-warming. Food look gorgeous and sumptuous. I almost didn’t wanna touch. Their lobster-corn chowder and lobster-shrimp salad were delectable. I sure got my money’s worth. Perfect date place. Highly recommendable.”

The bay scallops are to die for. Always dine here while in Santa Monica. Been coming here for at least 15 years. Great food. Excellent wait staff. Wonderful ambience. Highly recommended

Very fine restaurant. From the valet to down to our server Ben, we felt very special . Me and my boyfriend had the oyster sampler, where you get two of each of the oysters from different regions and a few from out of the country, they were great ! We also split a 3Ib grilled lobster with the grilled asparagus and crab cakes on the side . It was very good . Hopefully when we come back we will make it to this establishment!!

We visited Santa Monica for the first time and our bellman recommended this place. Amazing service and great food! The lobster chowder soup was amazing, enough to share.

Unfortunately, I will never return to this establishment in Santa Monica. We had a party of 15 and out celebrating a birthday. We made reservations and took 3 Ubers all the way from Signal Hill to Santa Monica. The place was crowded and easy on the eyes. Our server, Timothy, was excellent and the food was great. The problem we faced was racism. We had a few Caucasians come to our table and sing happy birthday, very loudly.. There was no problem. Other nationalities in the restaurant sang along... No problem. We sang the traditional version of happy birthday along with our server, very loudly... No problem. Then, as most blacks usually do, we transitioned into the "Black" Stevie Wonder version of happy birthday. That's when Matt (restaurant manager) ran from the back, along with our $1500 bill, and told us to be quiet. He stated, and I quote "singing happy birthday is fine, but the other song is disturbing our guests", which by this time, there were only 2 people dining way in the corner, and they were actually singing along. So we questioned Matt about his statements. He said, " Stevie Wonder, I get it. " At this point, we're leaving requesting numbers to the corporate office, which he claimed to not have. We asked for business cards for his manager which he also claimed to not have and handed us his card. He's laughing and smirking and told us he's American while telling us that he has no numbers for upper management. We never even received an apology.
We will never return! We had military in our party, Exxon Mobil employees, postal workers and government employees in our party and actually spoke of making this our regular event location. For some of us, it was our first experience at this establishment. But it's definitely our last and we're spreading the word. Basically, we left feeling like, no matter how much Green you spend, you're still black, so don't come in here with your black tradition.....

We’ve been coming here for over 10 years since we live down the street. The oysters are excellent, the lobster is amazing and the seafood pasta is solid. Bring the Cajun Prawns back! Things have changed a bit lately, but we keep coming back for the excellent waitstaff like Paul and Leah as well as the bartender Danny and all the bussers, they make the place great.
Bronwyn Cook
Thanks for great food, wine and great service. We are from Australia and if we visit here again we will definitely be back. Special thanks to our waitress Sigourney.
Claudile Castor
The food was divine, hands down head over heels went above and beyond greatness. Michael Jordan should be scared because this place might take his spot as the GOAT.
Robin Justin Kinney
Delicious food, friendly staff, great views, comfortable classy ambiance. Would definitely recommend!

When we got there it was only a 10-15 minute wait for a table which wasn’t so bad . But I came very close to walking out after listening to the hostess go on and on with comments about the bag piper who was playing across the street . I’m Irish .... Scots Irish as a matter of fact and I like the sound of bagpipes . It was totally uncalled for all the comments she had made about Bagpipes and it not even being an instrument, annoying etc. etc .
But I was glad we stayed . The food was excellent. And our server Sigourney may have been the BEST waitress I have ever had at any restaurant EVER !!! I’d go back . Maybe even in a Kilt.
Tina Sharpe
The food, staff and everything about this restaurant is wonderful!! I will go back next time I’m in California!!!
