We have been going to Gunston Wok for a good portion of my life. We eat there regularly. It is one of our favorite restaurants.
The food is so much better than other Chinese restaurants. I am regularly disappointed when we are out of the area and order food from another Chinese restaurant. They are nowhere near as good as Gunston Wok.
It is very affordable. With inflation going crazy, other places have become way more expensive. We spend approximately $10 per person here. We always have enough food leftover for another one or two lunches in the days following. All the leftovers microwave very well.
The people at Gunston Wok know our orders so well that sometimes they are confused when we decide to switch it up some. 😂
If you are looking for a good, dependable restaurant, this is definitely the place to go. It's always one of the top places we eat at. 👍
Adorable little shop with tasty food at affordable prices, served with a smile!

Tried the sweet and sour pork, spring rolls and crab rangoon.
Huge servings and tastes good.
Crispy, fresh and fast service.
Lady was nice also. Friendly.
Good Chinese takeout! Food was fresh, hot, and fast. Chicken was tender and great quality-all white meat! Easy to order and they are doing a great job of reducing contact and wearing masks.
The fried stuff hasnt been as good as usual. Yall gotta clean out the fryers.
Close to our home. Whenever we need something quick and testy, order by phone and pick up.
All of the food is delicious. Fried dumplings are large. Beef and broccoli is a very good portion. And the shrimp fried rice actually uses decently sized shrimp, rather than the tiny ones you normally see in other restaurants
We've been adrift ever since moving back into the area and finding that Hunan Lorton had closed, but it looks like we've finally found a decent local Chinese food place that doesn't break the bank.
While we haven't yet sampled the entire menu, I feel like I can say that, while it's food is not "authentic Chinese" and isn't revolutionary, it's good, flavorful "American Chinese food". And that's fine! It's great, even, if that's what you're looking for. It's what we were looking for, and that's why I'm giving it 5 stars.
Oh, one thing: Many of the dishes allow you to select a level of spiciness. I played it safe and went with "medium" for our first order....they were definitely using a "Caucasian spiciness scale" (my husband: "Is this supposed to be spicy?" "...I think I can feel a little bit on my tongue..."), so adjust your expectations accordingly.
THIS. PLACE. IS. AWESOME!
We ordered pan fried dumplings, chicken fried rice, lo mein, hot and sour soup and egg drop soup and all of it was tasty.
