Called in a 16 person order for pick up- they made sure everything was labeled appropriately! Portion sizes were excellent and food was hot. Highly recommend ordering and eating on the beach.

I don't live in the area but anytime I am in the area I stop in for dinner or get takeout. The restaurant is a small mom & pop type of establishment. I am not fussy about waiting or service. I just want good tasting food. Prices are reasonable. What I also like is that on my visits I see small families eat here & mostly Mexican/Latino people which tells me the food must be good because they are more familiar with the cuisine than I am. I LOVE their chicken soup and always get a large container to go. I usually get chicken enchiladas. This past visit I got Tinga which is stewed chicken & potatoes, rice & beans = delicious. If I lived anywhere closer, I would definately be getting takeout very frequently. My experiences have always been good,

Had a nice dinner with an old friend!! Cozy little place. The Huartes were good. The only problem was that there were little nat flies bothering us the whole time.

One of my favorite places!! My tacos were sooo good!! They have the best salsa verde!! Even my extremely critical father loves their salsa verde! My daughter went back the next day for more tamales and tacos!

I eat here every night whenever I am working in Long Branch. The food is pretty good, and it is consistent. Fajitas are good. The tacos are good, and the quesadillas are quite good. The only drawback is the salsa could be hotter. The proprietors are good, and gracious hosts. I first went because it was always very busy, which is a good way to judge unknown restaurants, but this year, for the first time in ten years, it was less busy. Has this country's hostile policies driven away the immigrant community ? I hope not. The taquerias of Long Branch are the best affordable food twenty miles.

A hole in a wall with a piece of Mexico inside of it! Treasure Trove!!! Genuine Mexican cuisine without any American or European infusion! A great portal!!! Food is outrageous!

Fantastic. I spent three months in Oaxaca in 2009 and El Oaxaqueno sent my heart all aflutter.
Make no mistake, El Oaxaqueno is authentic Mexican. That the previous reviewer had a mediocre experience is more of an issue of his bizarre criteria for "authentic." First of all, burritos are a Northern food, Oaxaca is very far south. "Sour cream" is an american condiment, it doesn't exist in Mexico. Queso de crema, the equivalent, wouldn't be served on top of a dish like that, though you could order it on the side. Nor are lettuce and tomatoes garnishes on everything.

The tacos are fantastic, try the pollo oaxacaqueno to sample mole, the sauce that the Oaxacan region is famous for. Their tortas are the best I've had in New Jersey. Their house-made salsas are balanced and tasty, and a Jarritos is a delicios way to wash it all down.

Will be trying something else next time. If there is a next time.. I could have gone with a burrito (which a friend had and looked pretty good) or tacos but I wanted to try something i havent had before. I wanted something that looked authenticly mexican. So i went with the Shrimp in Hot Sauce. The hot sauce was a good amount of spicy. It wasnt too spicy where i couldnt eat any of it. I did get a weird after taste from the flavor of it though. I probably wouldnt get it again.

It came with a side of black beans and rice. The amount of beans they gave was pathetic. There seemed to be like 6 beans in all of the liquid. The rice was pretty good, but i would have liked more of that too. It didnt come with any other sides. Some sour cream and/or lettace would have been nice, especially since i got more of an entree, as opposed to a sandwich.

If I was to go back and I would try something else, like the tacos or fajitas. But really i dont see myself going back. Nothing really stood out. If i am in the mood for authentic mexican i would probably try a new place or go to Acapulqueno, which i remember being pretty good from the one time i went there a while ago.
