Taqueria La Mexicana is one of the favorite places in Long Beach to get some tasty tacos. We usually order the lengua tacos (yummy) with a orange or coca cola soda. Just like old times. They only accept cash so if you do not want to pay that crazy fee for an ATM withdrawal that they conveniently have inside make sure you do not forget to bring cash. Parking is also a little tough so you may have to walk a bit. Enjoy.

It was a busy Friday. Had tree service guys work on both our front and backyard. They worked up some serious sweat pruning and cutting over ten trees on our property! Dang, watching them made us hungry! (For the record, we did some clean up too after they left)
So, we were were hankering for a burrito. Husband suggested coming back to Taqueria la Mexicana. That sounds good to me.
We got there and he wanted me to choose the meat. Lengua, gotta have the lengua. I like having something I cannot cook at home (one day I will try though).
Burrito is stuffed with a good amount of lengua, refried pinto beans, seasoned Mexican rice, cilantro, onions. side of salsa (be sure to ask for this!)
If there is a line, you may be waiting for your order. We were there around 4 pm and waited around 20 minutes for our order to be ready. That is quite OK because the lengua was absolutely the best, so tender, so well seasoned without the saltiness at all. Their blend of seasonings paired with their method of cooking resulted in the most perfect lengua.
The price was $8.50 for the burrito. good price for the taste and quality. Cash ONLY so bring some paper money. If you forget, there is an ATM in the waiting area.
Parking is street parking as it is in the neighborhood on 4th Street. Learn to parallel park. lol.
So, do not delay, treat yourself to an awesome lengua burrito. (or the many other choices on the menu!)
Buen provecho!

Finally made it here after friends suggested I give them a try plus every time I drive by there’s a line formed and that’s always a plus…you know that means “Delicious Food” so today I called in my order super easy …estimated time pick up was given to me on point I asked for their spiciest salsa was told their red salsa is spicy… well our carne asada burrito was delicious it had the works carne asada, rice, bean spread plus sour cream and guacamole a bit of lettuce onions OMG simple but with just the right combination of flavors!!! I was helped during pick up by Joanna the cashier and she was super friendly I mentioned it being my first time there…she was right by saying watch you’ll return the food is great she’s been working there for a long time and that also is a plus…knowing great places to eat have employees that matter and are their for a longtime…so if you’re in this part of LBC and in mood for authentic Mexican food come try them out and if you like your food spicy definitely the Red sauce…I highly recommend it all staff wearing mask and social distancing followed outside they do have tables inside too!! Cash only… if you don’t have money there’s an ATM inside I noticed all of that plus my burrito was being kept warm for me inside a cooler which I loved..by the time we cut into the burrito it was still hot🙌💯I will return 🌻yes I cut the burrito in 3 pieces I shared it with two kiddos who devoured it..said it was so yummy they wanted more💯

I got the California burrito and a carina asado burrito. Both were dry without cilantro.
I ordered the carina asado burrito with onions and cilantro only. It had neither... just a lot of rice mixed in
This used to be my go to place for Mexican food for many years but now the prices are doubled and they charged $4 more for an all meat burrito.

The California burrito is the best. The place is a staple in the area, but the prices are slightly on the priceier side. I've been going to this place since the California burrito used to be $5 now it's $8+. Still tastes unique and absolutely delicious.

Honestly I would go somewhere else. I waited 25 minutes for this burrito which was nothing special. This is not the first time I go here and they take forever. Can the cooks not make more than one order at a time?

The service on the day went was great, around noon on a Sunday and not too crowded. A few plates of variety tacos and a California burrito. Food was great, order was spot on, and service was prompt and polite. Will definitely eat here again 👍

I love their Carnè Asadà fries, Absolutely Amazing! Honestly, it may be a bit of wait when getting your food but its always fresh & very tasty. The older gentleman at the front who takes your order (don't know his name) he's always super friendly & knows the regulars, like me haha. He always knows my order when I come up to the window so it's a rather quick ordering process for me. Other family members have gotten their Chicken Tostada Bowl & the Chicken & Chili Verde Tortà- they really enjoy it & is there go to dishes..Oh & their tacos are very good as well. Cash only.

Small portions. I went here the other day and ordered a Californian burrito, when i got it, it was just full of fries maybe 90% 6% meat and 4% sour cream... Never will go here again.

As anyone knows, the best and most authentic ethnic foods come from hole-in-the-wall restruants... well, this certainly is a hole-in-the-wall, that being said, if I could, I would live here.

Great food..I love the tacos and the asada fries

The lengua and beans were excellent but the beans were alittle on the watery side. The enchilda was salty. The carnitas tacos were dry, carne asada tasted old and the al pastor was salty and tough.
