Review Sushi Ai - Long Beach

Best sushi in the area. So delicious, so fresh, so tender. Excellent service, nicest staff. The waitress recommended sauces to our order. Perfect match. They also were very nice with our dog, what is very important for us. 10 stars! Strongly recommend:)))

Cute sushi restaurant with amazing selections. There was so much, I didn't know what to try. The presentation of the sushi was beautiful and the server was very friendly and easy to converse with. I really enjoyed the shishito peppers. Overall, it's a good restaurant on 2nd St with outdoor seating perfect for people watching.

One of our favorite spots on 2nd Street! We ordered the rainbow roll 🍣, a yellowtail hand roll, and the chicken udon 🍜 The fish is so fresh and delicious, and the udon was great as well! Service here is always the friendliest and most helpful, and I love the atmosphere. Come try it if you haven’t yet!

Incredible service. Unmatched. The first place I go when I return in town is here. Best blue fin, aji, and ju toro. Don't forget the fresh Wasabi! Always trust the sushi chef!

Definitely our new go-to sushi!!! Service was so above and beyond friendly and quick, the sushi was delicious and the sushi chefs were so nice, and the drink prices weren’t bad. Highly recommend!!

CAUTION!!! Sushi night out, turned for the worst. Wife and I love sushi, first time here last night. Service was superb, Dinning location was well set. She had mentioned a roll with shrimp tasted like soap, we thought just a twist on taste buds. We stopped eating due to wife not feeling well immediately, shes a lady so she held it down til we arrived home and threw it all up. I decided to write this review at 3am same night with disgust to sushi and shame of what we spent was not worth the night out. I called restaraunt, after arriving home and tending to the disaster wife experienced, to hopefully help others avoid the same experience asking them to make sure their shrimp or something of the 7 items we ordered was in good condition to be used. I understand maybe the lack of staff may have played a part in this, maybe due to pandemic. I only hope they checked, becaused they said manager would return my call and did not hopefully busy correcting said food situation. I write reviews only when experience was awesome and a must, or when trying to save the public from a bad experience. We really wanted to like this place and make it part of our rotation, but this has made the AVOID list for us.

It makes me really sad to write this review because generally I like Sushi Ai! The sushi is fresh and the prices are good. However, the service I received tonight was not good at all. It took forever for anyone to take our order and we even said twice that we were ready but nobody came over to help us. Then it took forever for the food to come out. We had all finished our meal and my mom still hadn’t received her food. Even two orders of rice were extremely slow and we had to remind the server that we ordered them. Eventually, we asked the server to take the tempura off the bill since it had taken so long and he flat out ignored us! We had to flag him down again just to have a real conversation with him about the service. I will still give them a second chance because like I said, I usually like this spot! But unfortunately tonight just didn’t cut it.

My favorite sushi spot! Last two trips to California I've eaten there twice. Try the asparagus appetizer and anything else. The service consistently rides that nice line - friendly but not overtaking your meal. Just a lovely and hip place.

The service was poor. Our server forgot several items that we ordered and was not very available. The food was great. The noise level was challenging in terms of having conversations.

Sushi Ai - We had a lovely experience at Sushi Ai. We decided to celebrate a birthday with sushi and drinks. The food was fresh and attractively served. The wait staff was pleasant and courteous. The night ended with our birthday celebration dessert, which was made fresh: Tempura Banana with ice cream! Delicious! I would recommend this establishment!
