Review Sorrento's - Long Beach

Ruxandra Bklyn
UPDATE: memorable in every way! The more I visit and the more food I eat from Sorrento, the more impressed I am. EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS and you can take that to the bank! A special shout out to their meatballs and I come from a long line of meatball makers 🤣🤪. Also the pesto pasta salad was unbelievable. There is a lot of love in that kitchen and it shows. What can I say, LB is better with Sorrento’ Italian Specialties. I’ve had lots of pasta salads, and that is always a hard one for me. But the way they make it? Every single pasta salad I’ve had..oh, SO GOOD! Better than most. They also make fresh mozzarella if not daily, every other day. This place is a gem whether you live in Long Beach or not. GO!

We liked the food - can't say no to Sorrento's pizza !! Small is big and delicious, even more because they can do half-half!! Small is enough for 2 ! Sorrento's salad is still very good with these mozzarella balls stuffed with tomatoes. We will come back !

First, the location is two blocks from the beautiful beach—several tables inside and out. With live music, and on Sunday, we had the opportunity to see "Lulu Michaels," whose voice and guitar playing were fabulous! They made our experience even better! Sorrento's is small but bursting with energy and personality. Inside you will see the team working to accommodate the takeaways with in-house spenders. The order process is counter-only, but they will bring your goodies to your table along with plates and plastic ware. The owner, Anthony, is so graceful, with a smile from ear to ear, and so proud of what he is doing; he gave us a quick tour of his enterprise which includes an expansion and his coffee/bakery two doors down. His staff follow his lead and makes you feel special and so welcome. Our trip was for the pizza, and it did not disappoint! Our starter was a cucumber, tomato, and avocado salad, which knocked our socks off. So creaming and tasty, I keep asking for more. We ordered the small pizza, which was large enough for 4. The crust is so crisp but delicate, and the undercarriage aint a bit overdone. We oped for mozzarella, ricotta, onion, and mushroom. One slice is all it took; everyone knows the rules to designate this as one of the best pizzas ever. Dropping Totonno's in CI to number 2 and Pizzeria Leo outside of Playa Del Carmen to number 3. It took us several years to get back to Long Beach to try Sorrento because, the first time, they ran out of dough. But the experience was a 10! Thank you, Anthony and team!

One of the best pizza I ever had. It's not New York style. It is Artisan pizza.

It's our first time here. The Place is nice and clean, the pizza is very delicious, the Staff is nice. You can choose a topping that makes your pizza special. We will come back several times. (My Pizza: ricotta, mushroom, onion)

Maddone🤌 im a recent transplant here from Glen Cove. And Id like to say im rather adept at judging the quality of this type of food because I grew up eating and preparing it all my life. Everything and I mean Everything is a Home run. The meats are A1. The prepared food is so well seasoned and it's Clean. And the Pizza might just be the best ever..dont leave without grabbing a fresh twisted mozzarel. Abbondanza. Somebody's Grandmother is in the Kitchen. P.S check the Newly opened Bakery next door.

Knocked my socks off! Easiest 5 star I have ever given in my whole life. Steve is a beast! He brought us out their signature pizza and it was the best pizza I’ve had in my whole life! Great atmosphere, wonderful patio area and the large pie fed all 5 of us easily. Wow wow wow

We stoped in yesterday to get food for a special meal to bring to my parents after not seeing them since before the pandemic started in March, and Sorrento’s did not disappoint! Terrence took care of us for almost an hour picking out + cutting meats and cheeses for our feast and showing us the best ways we could prepare + serve the cuts of aged filet mignon for the best flavor possible. It is always fun to see someone so passionate about what they do, no matter what it is, and Terrence made a trip to the butcher pretty special with the way he treated us. We had mentioned to him that we were supposed to be in Italy this week for an annual music festival, so we were trying to recreate that experience, and Terrence’s hospitality (and the amazing food!) transported us right back to Sardenga. I hadn’t been to Sorrento’s for a good 8-10 years since I moved out of LB, and I’m so glad they are still there! I also learned they are under new ownership since last year, and they still have amazing, helpful, friendly service and incredible food that makes the 40 min trip from Queens well worth it for future charcuterie hauls 🤣 They have great quality imported and fresh food (we got house made mozzarella that had been made just hours before we arrived) with really good prices. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, so we have tons of leftovers that we are about to enjoy for breakfast! Thank you, Terrence + all of Sorrento’s team! PS: I will mention, don’t go here if you’re in a hurry. It is old-school butcher/deli style the way they do things, you will be here a while tasting samples and chatting with the counter people! Great things cannot be rushed.

Constant flow of orders, walk-in’s & pick-ups, I never mind waiting for mine because I know the amazing bites of flavor to come! Walk in comfy, family style eatery, classic tunes and again, genuine Italian feel. Place nailed it!
