Anglo Viet

So far, I have only done Vietnamese food takeaways from this restaurant. Here are what I find: 1. I tried the mango salad . It tastes great and fresh. So I conclude other salads should be of the same quality. 2. The wonton soup was flavourful and definitely not from Oriental supermarket's frozen packs. Craving for it now~ 3. When I tried Pho (Beef), the noodles was a bit undercooked so they were a tad hard for my taste. Herb wise, Anglo Viet provides mint and beansprout which is fair (Hey, we are in Stratford!). Just don't expect Thai Basil and other herbs that you usually find in other Vietnamese restaurants. In general, for the price of GBP10 per a special bowl, I do expect a bit more in my Special Pho whether it is the stock, the meat or herbs. Cay Tre Shoreditch offers Saigon Pho for GBP12 and I am always happy to pay for it. 4. Com Suon Bi (Chargrilled Porkchop Rice Bowl), my partner had it and I had a bite of the pork. The taste was good and the meat was tender. However, this is not something that I will consciously crave for. Maybe it is just my taste. To conclude, I will come back as the location is super convenient for me to pick up a dinner. Quality wise, there is room to improve as this place is not the cheapest but they have not had the 'Shoreditch punch' that I am accustomed to. Will keep this rating updated as I try more of their menu.
