Went for lunch in this busy restaurant. First, outstanding value on the lunch menu. Kimchi, simple salad and a main for £10.00.mark. Service was very attentive and polite. Restaurant was very clean of course. The bbq seems to be the attraction and will come back for that. Ramen was very tasty with simple toppings. Thank you for a great lunch!

Great time in this japanese BBQ place. The fried squid taste very good and the beef fried rice had a lot of flavor. Ambiance wise some music not too loud witch is nice to have a conversation and the waiter was thoughtfull.

Love this classic Japanese Yakiniku restaurant. If you would like to try grilling your own meats, poultry, seafood and veggies on a grill at your table, check out Hachi! The meats are well seasoned and perfect for grilling and dipping in a Japanese tare (sauce) and / or lemon juice. They have a great selection of wagyu cuts, as well. The wine, sake, shochu and beer selection offers a nice pairing with the Yakiniku. Reservations are usually required as tables are hard to get for walk-ins.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Yes, I understand the previous reviewers gave it bad reviews because they charge for simple sauce and condiments.. The restaurant management should add the price to the total dish price so people will stop complaining. Do not be deterred by the bad reviews because of extra 2 pounds. The food is very good.

Hachi Japanese BBQ is a popular restaurant in Soho that specializes in yakiniku, or Japanese-style grilled meats. The restaurant has a modern and stylish interior, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I recently visited Hachi for lunch and had the fried oysters set meal. The meal comes with a generous portion of oysters that are lightly battered and fried to perfection. They are served with a ponzu dipping sauce that is both tangy and savory. I also enjoyed the grilled rice and salad that come with the meal. Overall, I had a very enjoyable lunch at Hachi. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Japanese meal in Soho.

I live in NY and Tokyo and I have to say this place is pretty expensive for what it is. Tho maybe thats London. The quality is good but the ambience and the service quality honestly doesnt live up for the price. We had few meat dish and side dish and two drinks and end with £250 bill at the end. Granted the food was good. Maybe I will go back for lunch but probably spend the money elsewhere for dinner. Good place for business dinner, family or friends outing for sure.

Authentic Japanese BBQ with a great atmosphere. Went here for a birthday dinner and everyone was extremely pleased by the selection and quality of the food. The regular bbq set menu is reasonably priced and contained quite a lot of food too. Would definitely recommend.

Came here for lunch with the wife and kid. Overall we enjoyed our meal and left satisfied. I ordered the deluxe set which came with a choice of chicken or pork katsu, fried gyoza, sausages, karaage, rice, salad and miso soup plus kimchi. Wife had a lunch bbq set which also came with rice, kimchi and salad. The kid had the gyu-don, again this came with a salad and miso soup. The value was very good, with the total bill coming in at £38 including service. Each dish was very generously portioned. Service was spot on - not overbearing, not distant…simply just there if and when you needed, quickly. Would I return? Definitely.

Positive: The meat is delicious! Especially the wagyu tasted really like wagyu (not "wagyu" as is often the case overseas!). Possible improvements: there is only one type of sauce for Japanese BBQ (spicy miso or lemon salt would be nice). The waiter was too quick to take away the empty plates (like in many Southeast Asian restaurants, even if they are not all empty, the staff takes them away). In addition, despite having booked in advance, the staff did not guide us to our seats smoothly and informed us on the spot that we would only be able to use the seat for an hour and a half. If that was the case, I wished the hours of use had been written in advance on the booking website.

Came here for birthday celebration and had a wonderful dining experience 😋 ordered a BBQ set and the food was delicious from as tiny as a side dish to the actual barbecue itself. Definitely need to revisit someday!! 💯
