This place is just amazing. The decor, the food and also the service are just fantastic. Authentic Spanish tapas with very high quality Mediterranean dishes. I loved the crab croquettes, the Gernika peppers, the txistorra and the spectacular King prawns. And the sherries at the end where just delicious.

They were brilliant. Excellent food. Lovely staff (so good that we tipped in addition to the service charge), super surrounds. Definitely go there right now!

Tapas 44 has just opened on the site of Drakes Tabanco in Windmill Street in the heart of the west end. This is the second time we have visited since opening and the food was excellent. The menu is really interesting and the flavours to die for. Everything we tried from the menu was not only very tasty but interesting and different. The staff were excellent and happy to give advice, get there quickly before it gets too popular!

Friendly service; great lunchtime menu with a range of tapas options, including vegetarian-friendly ones. Wine and sherry list extensive and the cava was especially good. I also liked the space and sub-level main eating area. Authentically reminded me of dining in Spain.

Have been to many tapas places in London, and this place competes with the best. Not had gernika peppers before but well worth a try. Watch out for the odd hot surprise! The crab croquettes were out of this world and the squid in its ink was full of flavour. Well worth a visit.

Only just opened and well worth a visit. Spanish staff were very friendly and the food is a big step up from most tapas restaurants. Presentation and flavours spot on.

Went for dinner with friends on Saturday evening. Great decor, friendly attentive staff and food outstanding. We had a good selection of dishes starting with what have to be the best croquettes I have ever tasted - spider crab. Full on flavour. It was recommended we try them with a glass of 30yr old palo cortado sherry and wow, what a combo. Sensational ! The braised ox cheek, mash and Tempranillo was another star dish worth a mention. Melt-in-our-mouth and a generous portion. All in all, we had a great evening and will definitely go back.
