Island Poke Fitzrovia

Came across this by chance and made a welcome change to my usual lunches. There are only a couple of vegan options available, but the Miso Aubergine was amazing! Had it with brown rice and swapped out the mango for seaweed, so good. I like that they use plastic free bowls too. It's small but cosy inside, with enough spaces for about 6 people to space out in.

Staff not as helpful as the canary wharf branch! But lovely food. A little on the pricey side! Update: went to visit again a few months later. Service has improved dramatically. Staff were brilliant and very helpful, Tracy went the extra mile with my fussy order. Plus it seems like they are now using more biodegradable products instead of plastic.

June 2016 Recommend with small deductions! Fresh ingredients, great taste, but limited GF range. I’ve had a really tasty “build your own” poke bowl, packed with fresh ingredients. The waitress was very helpful and considerate in advising me as I am allergic to gluten, dairy & walnuts. Unfortunately, due to my gf-allergy, lots of ingredients were unsuitable, including the non-fish protein alternative, which may be a concern to Coeliacs who are vegan as well. That day I had my bowl to take away, thus they used take out dishes, yet I am not sure, if they have different plates when staying in, as it is a very small shop. The interior is small & simple yet welcoming, ideal for a quick bite/take away or an extended lunch. The quality of the ingredients is flawless and the waitresses very friendly and cheerful, I highly recommend that place!! (it would be a 5/5 if more ingredients were GF ).

The best poké I've ever had, seriously great stuff! The fish is great, and is in good sized chunks (most other places cut it way too small and don't give you much). Both Salmon and Tuna are excellent, and it's tough choosing but I'd say the tuna is slightly better, although you can get both if you pay extra. The toppings are great too - especially the wakame seaweed, burnt corn and mango. Other places such as Ahi Poké or Hippy Fish are decent, but they haven't seemed to capture the 'soul' of poké like Island poké has. That tasty, tasty Hawaiian soul.

Love the food here. My favorite casual lunch place is this one . I always end up here when I don't gent my own lunch. Sometimes, I don't even get my lunch to have food here My favorite is classic Ahi , replace pineapple with mango salsa and thank me later. Both brown and sushi rice is so good. Tuna and Salmon fishes always fresh They have vegan and chicken option also. Give it a try , you will repeat.
