Joe & The Juice

This location of J&J is busy and lively, less than 50 meters from the Mayfair Hotel, with plenty of seating in the ground floor and basement. The service can sometimes be slow but always friendly. My favourite seating is at the front of the store, offering a large window to watch people go by. For those looking to do some work, there is no power plugs on the ground level. Head to the basement if you need some juice for your device.

This has become my go to for work lunches. I had walked past a million and one of these stores but had never gone in until a few months ago. I had definitely noticed people walking around with the signature pink sandwich box so I thought I'd give it a try. For my money these are the best chain restaurant sandwiches by far. The bread is toasted and pressed before being cut and filled with your filling of choice. This results in a wonderfully crispy bite. I always go with the spicy tuna, I've not seen a tuna sandwich elsewhere that has my personal favourite tuna accompaniment of jalapenos. It's zingy and delicious and I look forward to visiting whenever I don't bring a sandwich in. Just great, funnily enough I've yet to try one of their signature drinks though. A shout-out to their app, which gameifies the experience wonderfully and is a must for ordering just before leaving the office so that your sandwich is there waiting for you by the time you reach the store.
