Second Shot Coffee

Really friendly staff and great coffee too. I go back because of the pay it forward scheme where you can buy a homeless person either a drink or a meal. You can also donate your loyalty card (a full loyalty card is 1 meal, half a loyalty card is a hot drink). Staff are good at holding the line when people try and act up. Had a really awful coffee and customer service experience here a few weeks ago, was served 2 very over extracted, undrinkable flat whites which we hadn't realised before we'd driven away. Went back after vet appointment to feed back and ask for replacements to be told by an extremely rude, defensive and totally unreasonable staff member that he'd been using the same recipe all morning so there was no possible way there could be something wrong and therefore he couldn't replace the coffees. I explained that it wasn't personal, appealing to him as a barista myself, dud shots do happen with so many variables, in the speciality shops I manage we know that and always offer a replacement. He flatly refused and nor would he give a refund. This is the worst service I've had in a speciality coffee venue and I think must be reflective of the venue's lack of care for customers and quality. First and last visit, I'd been really looking forward to it as my partner had been raving about it for months since she moved into the area
