I love Indian food and OOTY brought their flavors to the table. Their service, their flavors, and the overall aesthetic of the restaurant brought that nostalgia I felt when traveling to India. I love the modern interpretation that OOTY brings to their dishes, and I love the fact that they’re always willing to improve on any aspect of their dishes. For example, I ordered a drink, I believe it was a Date to Remember, and It was just not to my tastes. Just from the look on my face, before I could even say anything, the waiter brought me a new drink and took that drink off. That is exceptional service. The presentation of the meals were exceptional and overall the service really made up for the one or two meals that weren’t up to my expectations. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the fact that they really try their hardest to meet your needs and expectations I would’ve given less than four stars. However, if you’re looking for good Indian, I’d definitely recommend you head here. They will not disappoint.

Can't begin to say how incredible the dining experience here was. There was so much finesse displayed in every dish - head chef is clearly very well trained after heading up now-defunct Vineet Bhatia. Interior is very Tom Dixon meets Liberty, and it's quite nice really. Food had multiple levels of complexity to each dish that I really enjoyed. Goat sukka is particularly phenomenal. Dosas, while fetching a steep price, were crazy good. And the sambar was really delicious. Only fault were the desserts that look a lot nicer than they tasted. Somehow didn’t work very well. All in all still an amazing amazing restaurant and I was a very happy diner yesterday.

Beautiful new South Indian restaurant in Marylebone - food is delicious, especially the varied selection of starters. Everything was presented well - very pretty plating - and the taste is well balanced. Cocktail and wine selection is good, there were even ome interesting Indian wines (made from Alphonso mangoes). Service is really friendly. Would recommend a try!

Very reasonably priced for a Michelin-starred restaurant. The flavours were very authentic and you should expect spicy when they say spicy. Staff reception and service were top notch, everything you`d expect from a top restaurant, except this one doesn't break your bank. Definitely recommended and on my list of to-go restaurants in London

Ooty is a gorgeous modern Indian restaurant in Marylebone named after the idyllic hill station in the state of Tamil Nadu, Udhagamandalam (Ooty). They have put their foot firmly forward with a fabulous brunch offering with flavours spanning north and south Indian dishes! The restaurant itself is light, modern yet colourful and beautiful nods to the Indian origins throughout. The 4 course brunch is £30 & bottomless prosecco is an additional £15 and bottomless soft drinks only £5. The meal starts with a luscious thick curry leaf and ginger buttermilk. Served in short glasses, they were very indulgent and creamy and were a refreshing introduction to the Indian feast to follow. The first course is a warm up to the brunch. This includes: house granola with palm yogurt & berry compote jeera croissant raisin and chilli muffin plain scones with jam and cream tubes It’s actually a lot to start with! The granola had a richly toasted nuttiness and was a real favourite. We also tried the jeera (cumin) croissant and had a little of the mini scone. We went for a Dosa served with mustard crushed potato and soya mattar pao ( spiced soya & green peas served with Indian bread rolls). Both dishes were exquisite and beautifully presented and made for a fantastic second course. The dosa arrived thin with colourful bowls of dips to accompany it. We loved the soya mattar pao which tasted like mince with a lovely level of spicing. Comprised of North Indian favourites, the tiffin was next. We enjoyed the unveiling at the table in their fun and colourful tiffins. We chose the paneer and spinach tempered with garlic and chilli and the tofu and broccoli stew. The tiffin dishes are all generously served with sides of potato, edamame and sugar pea stir fry, brown onion and caraway seed pulao and a deliciously flaky malabar parotta for mopping up the curries. We thoroughly enjoyed the tofu stew which was so very light and creamy. The paneer was deliciously meaty in texture and great with the rice on the side. Dessert is a choice between fresh fruit and assorted pastires. We opted for one of each. The pastries (chocolate and strawberry mini cakes) were incredibly light. They were beautifully decorated with an “Ooty” chocolate disc and the other a fresh strawberry creation. Ooty have really upped the brunch game with this fabulous weekend offering. The presentation was with flair and attention to detail. The highlights for us were the fantastic dosa and the tiffin course which really hit the spot. The dishes are spiced incredibly well without being overpowering and service was on point. There are special touches throughout the meal that lend this particular brunch perfectly to celebrating a special occasion. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ooty for brunch. Be prepare to be well fed and enjoy the journey through sensational flavours!

Excellent food with friendly, efficient and at times, jovial service. Dishes are delicious although quite small - it is Indian fine dining. Expensive but would definitely recommend. We will be back!

Entering the dark entrance of this restaurant, you're immediately greeted by a smiling member of the waiting team who'll take you to a table in the much brighter and well designed pink and green interior of the restaurant with wall patterns evocative of William Morris. For the most part the food is good here. I formed the impression that my dining partner's meat-based dishes faired better than my vegetarian offering. Catering for mostly south Indian dishes, items like dosas should in theory be far more interesting than other dishes. Non-veg is included in the dosa selection which isn't traditional but was well received. They also have more experimental dosas featuring corn, spinach and oats which I didn't particularly enjoy but were palatable. Good chutneys and sambar accompanied these although the latter was missing the authentic large chunks of vegetables, instead providing a more puréed interpretation. As you may read repeatedly through others' reviews, desserts are a disappointment and this was confirmed on our visit with the kulfi-brownie combination. More aesthetically pleasing than gastronomically tantalising and thus not Ooty's strong point. I have to say I would have expected more from food made at this price point which is without question on the dearer end of Indian cuisine in London. There are many other more authentic experiences to be had more cheaply when delving into south Indian cuisine (e.g. in East Ham) with the caveat that the atmosphere and service is less of a premium one. The staff were pleasant during our interaction with them but made a few mistakes: Their timing to collect plates is in need of serious address (e.g. I found myself having to eat a poppadom hovering over the table because the small plate where I'd placed my chutneys was stolen from beneath me whilst distracted mid-conversation). The other unexpected attribute of the service for this premium restaurant was the lack of eye contact and table monitoring conducted by the waiting staff (e.g. I found myself waving my hand in the air for nearly two minutes before someone acknowledged us, with another minute to finally be tended to at a time when the restaurant was only at 25% capacity). There was one final disappointment where I'd requested a small token of celebration as part of my booking. It was my dining partner's birthday and in my experience the vast majority of restaurant chefs are willing to accommodate such a request. I'd made this clear in the online booking via the website but sadly wasn't acknowledged during our visit. Overall, an experience with good starters and mains in a lovely environment but leaving much to be desired on dessert and service. EDIT: The restaurant manager reached out to apologise which we appreciated. Based on his sentiment, I'm compelled to believe they are genuinely keen on remedying the issues above. As such I would be happy to return later to verify any improvement.

Some of the most delicious Indian street food I've had! The lamb dosa was fabulous, the lamb curry was perfect and the saffron kulfi was beautiful AND tasty. Amazing cocktails, too!
