This restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with a welcoming atmosphere and ample indoor and outdoor seating options. They have a respectable assortment of wines and scotches, although their cocktail selection is somewhat limited.
As widely acclaimed in reviews, their watermelon salad is exceptionally delicious. You can order it in regular or single portions, and I recommend the single portion as it pairs well with other entrees like tacos. Alternatively, you might want to consider their Caesar salad.
The Seabass tacos are my personal favorite, and they are served with the mouthwatering watermelon salad, making for an amazing combination. The chicken tacos are also fantastic and are accompanied by Mexican rice, white beans, and salsa.
Overall, this is a place you should definitely check out. Enjoy your visit and have a great time
We went for lunch tried poblano with seasonal vegetables, watermelon salad and chicken tacos. Tacos were amazing and chicken was so juicy . Watermelon salad was good but it has only few bits of mangoes. Pablano was excellent.
We visited second time today- 12/16 and man the food was amazing as last time . We tried goat cheese 3 ways for appetizer -shrimp tostada , mahi mahi fish tacos for entree and churros for desert… all fresh and tasty
We ate outside, it was lovely. My daughter had the chicken enchiladas which she enjoyed. I had the watermelon salad and stuffed poblano. The poblano’s tomatillo sauce was tasty and the yellow squash had crunch. An excellent vegetarian dish!

Our lunchtime visit to Posada Alta Cocina was nothing short of exceptional. Managed with finesse by the owner and former chef, Eduardo, the establishment radiates warmth and culinary brilliance. Meeting Eduardo in person further cemented our appreciation for this gem of a place.
The expertise of their sommelier, a former Wente winery hand, was evident not just in the wine selection but also in curating the liquors for their full bar. The choices were refined, high-end, and catered to every palate. It comes as no surprise that they were the proud recipients of the 2023 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Such accolades are truly well-deserved!
A huge shoutout to John Dutra for hosting us and ensuring our experience was memorable. From the tantalizing dishes to the impeccable service, every aspect of Posada Alta Cocina was delightful. We highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to indulge in a world-class lunch in Livermore. We're already excited for our next visit!
What an adorable little gem in Livermore. This is authentic, cozy and different. There is both indoor and outdoor patio seating and the atmosphere is nice in both. We sat indoors but I appreciated the coverings over the patio that created shade and matched the vibe of the restaurant. We had the Guacamole with shrimp and the Cesar salad with chicken. Both were delicious. The Guacamole was outstanding. The heirloom tomato really makes it standout and the vinaigrette is a very nice unexpected touch making the dish full of flavor. The shrimp were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The portion was large for the Cesar salad. It was served with Avocado on the side, again the seasonings on the chicken were perfect. Worth the hour drive to visit. Check this place out.
Really enjoyed our dinner here tonight. Had 3 appetizers, cauliflower with dipping sauce , watermelon salad, and a cheese plate. All very good. Had the tacos and enchiladas for our main course. Both were good, but the enchiladas were amazing 👏
A must to anyone in the Livermore area. Friendly staff and delicious food. I love the menu rotation but the watermelon salad is a personal favorite!
Loved the tacos and the enchilada as our entrees and enjoyed the cheese/nut platter and watermelon salad for appetizers—always have a great experience at Posada 😋
It was our anniversary (which I included in our reservation) and upon arriving, we were greeted by the friendliest man who then actually said happy anniversary and preceded to seat us at a cute table (semi private) in the wine cellar. We had the most fantastic server who not only came at the right moments to check on us and how we were enjoying the food, but was also having such great conversations. Her recommendations for food were spot on and we even just stuck to her recommendations throughout our dinner from the appetizers to the desserts.
Some food highlights would include the cauliflower appetizer, the guacamole and blackened shrimp appetizer, the ribeye entree, the steak and lobster entree, the flan and the churros for dessert. Everything we had was so packed with flavor it makes you melt into your seat with every bite.
Needless to say that we will be returning and we can’t wait to do so. You will not be disappointed
Southwestern / Mexican place with a flair.
The ambiance was simple but nice, the menu had a nice small set of (good) options. The staff was helpful - though the menu said no substitutions, the staff did make some exceptions to accommodate the vegetarians in our group.
The food was great - the flavors, the freshness were all just right without being overly heavy or cheesy. The appetizers, entrees, dessert, the sauces - all of them were delicious. Loved how everything felt light and fresh.
Review UPDATE!!!! Long road trip and totally confused this place with another. This place was PHENOMENAL. From the outside you never know what you’ll get but inside, the service was fun and amazing. Enchiladas were divine. Zero complaints and if I lived here, would be a regular. Loved it!! Definitely go.
One of the best meals I've had in a long time! The food, from the appetizers to the main courses along with the choices of wines and craft beer on tap, was stupendous!! Owners Lalo and Blanca were such great hosts, we will definitely come again every time we're in town!!!
Nice decor, with outdoor seating which we sat. Southwestern, meaning heavy, but tasty. The ingredients were all fresh tasting and flavorful. Lamb chop was tender, well cooked. The seafood had delicious large shrimps and fish. The mussels went perfectly with great sauce. Prices were on the high end though. Service was good!
Service was amazing! Seabass was ok, kale was prepared amazingly! The flan was good but didn't taste like traditional flan. Great atmosphere!
Loved the 3 or 4 appetizers we had, can't go wrong with any of them. Service was attentive and friendly. Portions were lacking just a little bit for this fat guy regarding the entrees. I can't say anything but good things about the flavors and freshness of the food.
