Yancey's Cafeteria

So of course this is really the only place you can get authentic soul food. My son and I had dinner here a week ago. On my visit I had a veggie plate with yams, greens & okra with corn bread and banana pudding for dessert. Oh my goodness this was a delight and I am so happy we stopped. I usually cook my own but I am happy to say this is a place I truly love to frequent.

IT'S a good little spot to get a home cooked meal from..But the only sell pork everything!!!!! (Except hamburger steaks) and put gravy on everything... and the chitterlings they chop them up too small trying to stretch them. ( I thought chitterlings was long but these are cut up and you really not getting your monies worth (my opinion ) BUT BESIDES PUTTING GRAVY ON EVERYTHING .THE SERVICE IS GREAT. . IT'S A GOOD PLACE TO EAT BUT NOT ENOUGH ROOM. IT'S REALLY SMALL IF YOU WANT TO DINE IN.

My second visit was 10/19 I went on my lunch and stood outside the restraunt 15 min. The sign said they were scheduled to open at 11. When they opened at least three people had changed their minds. I asked why they were late opening they said they were waiting on change for the register. The food looked great the meat was tender but it was too salty. I will eat there again when I am able but please hold the salt.
