Review Rick's Cross Road Grille - Lincoln

I spotted this place up on the hill and turned around to come back and give it a whirl. Very cool rustic atmosphere, I was seated promptly even during lunch and my hostess and waitress were friendly. My drink order was taken and my sweet tea was brought quickly. The tea had a decent tea flavor, but could have been a little stronger. I ordered the red beans and rice that came with bread and smoked sausage. All I can say is WOW, it was delicious and they brought A LOT, I surely didn't leave hungry. The red beans and rice had plenty of salt and a great spicy flavor, but not enough to harm your taste buds if your sensitive to spicy things. I also tried Rick's special hot sauce which was excellent also. I give this place two thumbs up. Stop in and give them a try if your around.

The food was delicious! They were extremely busy which I'm going to say due to race but the service was cool, she kinda was all over and forgot about us a time or 2 but she kept checking on is when she could. My 1st time there but definitely not my last!

I was so impressed with the whole experience. Well spaced so there wasn’t any privacy issues, excellent service, clean servers and friendly. Fast and perfectly satisfactory cooked food. The plates were eye appealing. I will definitely be back and bring an appetite. A five star rating

Wonderful food great atmosphere great staff. Only complaint was bread pudding more sauce was my fault I should have asked for more. Will definitely go back. Was with large group. They were very accommodating.

Have been talking about trying this place for awhile. Well it was worth the wait, wonderful food, and friendly services. We will definitely be back. My husband said there was not a single bite of grizzle in his steak.

Red beans and rice is awesome. Hamburgers are big you get lots of food for the price. The catfish Ponchartrain is the best dish I think the cream sauce is so so good. The staff is so nice and friendly. Great place to eat

It was very busy and that is understandable because the food was fantastic. I had the special of chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. I also had the stump hole cake for dessert which was also great.

I went to this place for the 1st time last night. It was terrific! The food was excellent and the prices are very good. I really enjoyed the staff and atmosphere too. Eat here!!

I put my name on the list and was told the wait would be 45 minutes. At 45 minutes, I went in to see how much longer it would be. The hostess (same one as before) rudely told me that she had no idea how long it would take because they sat all the reservations first an it could very well be an hour more. She then proceeded to tell me there was nothing she could do about it. I had to remind her there certainly was something she could have done, which was to tell me that 45 minutes before, before I say outside in the cold having smoke blown all over me, because she had openly complained about people standing inside on her way. Not a single concern was given.

AMAZING!. Hands down the best gumbo I've ever had. Service was great and the food was even better. Had the oyster po'boy and was delighted. Can't wait to come back

5 star dining.. I had the 10 ounce sirloin steak with steamed broccoli and a salad. It was the best steak I have ever eaten. My husband had a shrimp and oyster combo plate. Neither one of us could finish our dinner, had to have a to go plate. The owner came by our table and ask us if our food was to our satisfaction. If you are near Lincoln, Al. it is the place to eat. We will be going back.

Try the Tiger Tilapia. I cannot believe none of the reviews I've been reading have mentioned the Tiger Tilapia. IT IS AWESOME! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Awesome!!!. We Love this place. We eat there about once a week. We have never got a dish that wasn't good. From the Cajun chicken Alfredo to the ham and cheese po'boys are delicious. The steaks are great too. We love the owners Rick and Jean. They always make us feel welcome. I believe we will go back tonight.

Best restaurant in Lincoln. We go to Rick's at least once a week, always have great service and wonderful food. I'm not one who likes seafood, so I always order something else on the menu. They have the best Country fried chicken steak, with green beans & mashed potatoes Every Wednesday. The staff has always been more than nice and our service has always been great!! We are glad your in Lincoln Alabama.<br/>The staff at MCCAIG RENTAL PROPERTIES JUST want to say Thank you for serving such great food and for the awesome service we receive every time!!!!

First visit , but won't be last. I am Cajun and know good Cajun food. The gumbo was pretty close to what I make back in Louisiana and I'm picky about eating gumbo away from home. My sister in law had a roast beef poboy that was soooo good and the boudin balls that we had for an appetizer were good too. I hate to eat Cajun food away from my home in south louisiana but this was as close to authentic Cajun as it comes. I can recommend it for sure and will be eating there next time we are in the area visiting family.

First Visit. Tonight we went to Crossroad's for the first time. The food was excellent as was the service. Also, I left my purse when we headed home. (Yes, I can be forgetful at times.) When we got home I realized I didn't have it & called them. They had already found my purse & put it in the manager's office. I went back to get it & it was obvious that nothing had been taken or even moved. Thanks to the great staff I have my purse & contents back & have found a new favorite restaurant.

Race Week Biz-Dinner. We approached Rick & his staff for a dinner to get acquainted with NASCAR driver Jeniffer Jo Cobb and Crew. Could not have been a greater, relaxed place for my company and Jen's also. (She even signed some autographs). We all had the calamari appetizers and the "Prime Rib". Check it for yourself but you will not beat Rick's Prime Rib....You can cut it with a fork!! Great Food, Great Prices; WONDERFUL people and service...(Thanks Sally)!
Michael Horne
Ordered the prime rib (medium) with broccoli and salad. The latter two were terribly plain and uninspired, but the prime rib, however, was the most succulent, delicious, and delightful thing I've eaten in a long time! Very highly recommended!

Really good!. We had to come up to Riverside Marina to drop off our boat for repair and asked the owner to recommend a good place to eat. He raved about Cross Roads so we decided to give it a try. We were pleased, to say the least. Our food was great and our cute little waitress, Rossi, as well as the rest of the staff were awesome and left us wanting for nothing. Looking forward to picking up our boat so we can come again. May just come before then!! :)

Disappointed!!. I have been going to Ricks since they opened. I have had good experiences with the food with the exception of the Crawfish boil. After waiting for 45 mins, I finally received my Crawfish cold. Since that day, I have noticed the service has when down hill. I placed a call in order just last week and was put on hold so that the person who answered the phone could argue with someone. When I picked up the food, the service was just as bad. I will not be back for a long time. I hope that Rick can get this corrected before it runs other customers away. I am very disappointed.

For the person from NOLA who said they had been three times and didn't like it? Why on earth would you go back not once but twice after not liking it the first place? We tried it and thought it was WONDERFUL. Great food, generous portions and reasonable prices. Service was good too. So thankful to have found it because Pell City "restaurants" if you want to call them that, leave us cold. This place has good food and we will be back again. Many times.

I am From New Orleans and have been to Rick's 3 different times each Time was Worse than the last. The seafood is NOT From Louisiana its Frozen and Imported. It is NOTHING like New Orleans Food. The Service was just about as Bad as the Food. This Last time we went we Walked out.

Just found this AWESOME restaurant. Less than 20 minutes from my house and did not know such great food and service could be found! My family and I ate there 3 times the first week. The service is great and the FOOD! I suggest starting on one side and just work your way over to the other. EVERYTHING has been off the chain great. So glad to know we don't have to drive all the way in to Birmingham to find great food and service. I recommended this place to everyone at work and I recommend it to anyone reading this as well!

Good people steered me to this place in the 'middle of nowhere' due to their bragging of the 200 year old BBQ Shrimp recipe from New Orleans. Indeed, now I can say as well, it's pretty remarkable.

Ranks in top 5. I have been in 46 different states canada and mexico and just paid 17.95 to eat at Paula Deens in Sav. Ga. for chicken and blackeye peas but lately had the prime rib at ricks and it was great and will go back and eat the peas at home.

Fantastic!. My husband and I were in Lincoln this past Friday, they had an event at Talladega, and had read about this place here.It did not disappoint. It was wonderful! Everyone, especially owner Jean was so friendly and the place was cute and very lively. It was 7 on a Friday and they were packed, but we were well taken care of. We ordered the prime rib..WOW it was sooo good! Had great flavor and was extremely tender, simply fantastic.! We are going back to the track in early Oct. for the race, normally we cook everything at the campsite but we will make an exception to go back to visit Jean and the gang,it was that good. Try it,you will not be disappointed.

Dinner. The place was clean ,the people were nice @ the food was great ,had a steake @ grilled shrimp;with broc ,@ a stump hole cake for desert .was out of this world ;

DANG GREAT!!. Started with the Gumbo. It was the best Gumbo I've had outside Landry's. For an appitizer I had the Onion Rings...The batter was even and not burned..excellent! My main entree was the 14 ounce Ribeye with a baked potato. I usually love to eat my steaks with Heinz 57 Steak Sauce but this steak was so succulant I ate it without any sauce.
Mike
Great food, great atmosphere, friendly employees. And did I mention the food was great?

A Must Try! We Are Hooked. A wonderful place for lunch or dinner. 1. is atmosphere, 2. Service and smiles. 3. Clean. 4. Flavor and flare 5 is Rick himself and his great staff. A wide selection on a not to busy menu. Cajun treats are there as that is where Ricks roots are. The gumbo is a special treat...(kick it up a notch with hot sauce if you are Cajun, 'member they serving Alabama folk mostly). Weekend nights...PRIME RIB @ it;s finest. A short drive off I-20 exit 168, Go north 1.4 miles at the CROSSROADS of AL77 & US78!

Pretty good, mixed reviews. We went to the Crossroads for the first time pretty early on a Friday evening, around 5:30. We thought that we would beat the crowds. Apparently others thought the same. The restaurant started filling up around 6:00 and our service went downhill from there. We started with the fried dill pickles and a cup of gumbo. Pretty good, but needed hot sauce for the gumbo and the pickles were a little too cornmeally for our taste. I had the stuffed shrimp as an entree - it was really good, and the red beans and rice were pretty good too. My husband had the roast beef po-boy. It was REALLY good. That was last week and this week we placed a TO GO order for roast beef po-boys. So..... will be going back. Want to try more dishes, but hope that the speed of the service picks up a bit :)

What is there NOT to like about this place. Outstanding service and friendly atmosphere. BBQ shrimp and rib eye steak is GREAT! Try and see for yourself, you won't be disappointmented. Going back for more!

Hmm, Hmm Good.. You've earned it, you deserve it, so be good to yourself, if you're ever traveling down I-20 in Alabama and come to the Lincoln (Hwy. 77) exit, don't pass it by. No matter if it's lunch, dinner or somewhere in between, be sure to stop and dine at Rick's Crossroads Grille, it's only 1/2 a mile or so off I-20 on Hwy. 77 going north. It just doesn't get any better than this. Rick, Jean and staff are wonderful, the atmosphere is great, the service unquestionable, and the food is out of this world. The menu contains a wide variety, everything from spaghetti and po' boys, to fresh seafood and prime rib, with daily specials, and it's all so hmm, hmm good!!! .. And with just the right touch of New Orleans. The homemade desserts are to die for. On a scale from one to ten, I'd give them a 14-1/2. Reasonably priced, and lucky me, I live close by.

Crawfish Boil Special. Rick's had a test run low country boil last night, and it was great! Fresh mud bugs, new potatoes, corn, and cold beer. They are doing it again on May 7th for their first anniversary. Best eats in town.

OUTSTANDING!!. My entire family ate at Rick's Saturday night and enjoyed some of the best food we have ever eaten. They have great service and a fun environment! We eat there at least once a week. I would recommend Rick's to anyone who enjoys authentic Louisiana food or good steak and potato! Fantastic place! Exactly the kind of restaurant this area needed!

This place is the bomb. They truly know how to please the customer. The food, service and the overall experience was top notch. I will be back soon.

It was really bad. Will not be back!

Horrible. We waited over an hour to be served. Once the food came, it wasn't really that good and definitely not worth the wait. French fries were not even cooked all the way through.

I've had a lot of Ted beans.... I've had a lot of red beans and rice in my day. These are truly remarkable. I don't get out this way often. But when I do, I will make it a point to get back here to try other items.

Fantastic!. Orgasmic.

Fantastic Food & Service. Just had a fabulous dinner there. Third time I have visited. Loved every bite. Delicious, everything was cooked to order. Brought home the Stump Hole Cake. Wished I had bought a whole cake!
