I ordered an assortment of cupcakes to cater a business event and they were a big hit. You can choose some very unique flavors and styles that are all delicious. I would also highly recommend the host business, Lu Lu's Lunchery, which has the best place to get homestyle cooking in town. Tasty food, great prices, friendly atmosphere--can't go wrong.

I've tried the Butterfly bakery, Le Cupcake, PJ's Babycakes, Russ's, and Hyvee (the last two really don't count), and they're all fine (although Butterfly's cupcakes are beautiful... really, really beautiful). Cakes have a wide margin of error because they are very sweet, and so you can't really tell the difference between the taste and flavor of a strawberry cake from shop A and shop B (especially if they're frosted). Thus, for me it all comes down to the texture and aesthetic of the cake. Serendipities makes a cake with more spring and the outside has a slight crust that isn't sticky and greasy like the other shops'. You can eat a cupcake with a fork, sure, but I say it's a poor cupcake if you can't also eat it with your hands. They also put more cake in the cup, so each cake has the pleasant cupcake shape (or muffin-top shape). At some other local cupcake shops the paper cup is taller than the cake!

I got a gift certificate for a free cupcake every month which is a sweet birthday gift! I got a cherry vanilla cupcake for my first one. It was delicious and beautiful.

Quaint atmosphere and delicious food. The service was great and the prices are awesome. I had a Pizza Grilled Cheese with Turkey Noodle souo and loved every bite. I will definitely be back to other items.
