Excellent Japanese entrees but no sushi. The agadashi tofu (fried tofu in dashi sauce) and agadashi mochi (fried mochi aka pounded rice cakes) are excellent appetizers.

What a great find! The food was fabulous! I had butterfish and my husband had shrimp and vegetable tempura. Limited drink menu (just a few beers and sakis) but the matcha IPA was a good choice. Located in a dark side street which is a little weird but very nice decor inside.

What I ordered: katsu-don with the fried katsu and egg sauce separate + additional Japanese curry sauce cup on the side for a $5 surcharge, pick-2 combo of beef sukiyaki and beef teriyaki
We were also served complementary pickled veggies, cabbage salad, miso soup, green tea, and barley tea for our meal. Spent just over $80 without tip included, none of the accoutrements are pictured unfortunately as our table was smaller than our appetite.
What I thought: the most amazing service & food experience I’ve had on Kauai thus far, I cannot recommend this place enough. We walked in an hour before they closed and had a complicated order and they absolutely nailed what I wanted on the head, our server was a very nice Asian woman who I can’t remember the name of. Bf and I ordered so much food we’ll have delicious dinner leftovers for breakfast tomorrow!

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to in the world! Great food and staff! Came two nights in a row!
Everything was delicious, whether the appetizers, entrees, ice cream, or tea. Had the katsudon, butterfish, and fried chicken, all of which were amazing! Best katsudon and butterfish I've ever had. This was a highlight of my trip!
Will definitely come again when I'm back in Kauai.

Authentic Japanese restaurant in Kauai. My wife and I enjoyed the best ramen we ever had Service was absolutely amazing! Gotta go back! You can tell it’s a good place because there were lots of locals eating there and you gotta wait a little to be seated. That’s always a good sign!

Delicious sukiyaki butterfish with eggplant! Agedashi tofu was perfectly done, but the cold tofu appetizer with tuna flakes was mediocre. Ramen broth was very rich and noodles were excellent.

We found this place while looking for less touristy spots on the island and we're so glad we did. The food was seriously delicious! The beef teriyaki dish was perfect. The sauce is top quality, it was sweet and light...I wish I could bottle it up and take it home. The shrimp tempura is a must order. Overall the best meal we've had in a while. We are already planning to go back next week!

Ate here on our last day before flying out that evening. I was hesitant about getting "plain" Japanese food in Kauai, but this place is great (anything but plain). Prices are reasonable, portions are generous and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner - flew home full.

Excellent food. The minimalist ambience was relaxing. Service was prompt and kind. Food portions were very generous. You'll leave full and content I guarantee it. Try the matcha IPA and the agedashi katsu, it's delicious.

Lunch here was excellent. Had chicken katsu don. Service is good and the inside is a gem. Would recommend for lunch or dinner. Lunch prices are fair. They also take to-go orders.
