Sweet Basil Thai Restaurant

The staff was extremely friendly and quick about orders. The food was very delicious and flavorful. I took my husband here for his birthday today. We are always looking for new food to enjoy. I did not regret this little birthday adventure! We will come back again some time soon. We ordered the vegetable dumplings, the spring roll, a Thai iced tea, a Thai iced coffee, the Massaman curry and the Pad Priaw Whan. Thank you so much !

My first impression is that the internet and locals have no idea what they are missing. As you walk into the restaurant, you are surprised because it’s a spacious Vietnamese restaurant with a dining room, bar room and bar offering beer and wine. The beer selection is a must for connoisseurs as the restaurant offers nothing on tap but a genius selection of micros beer. I wasn’t going to order a starter but took a professional recommendation from the staff. When the starter arrived, I was tickled pink because the rolls were perfectly fried in peanut oil. The glass noodles were chewy, the spring rolls were impressively tight paired with a zesty, sweet, sour and cleverly spicy duck sauce. I ordered the green curry with chicken in a super hot coconut milk sauce with real bamboo shoots and UNKNOWN meaty mushroom. The only downfall was that I ordered brown rice and received white.

I've never had Thai food before but heard really good things about this place. The place is charming with lots of colorful adornments. I prefer a smaller menu because I equate it with fresh ingredients as opposed to frozen or canned. The waiter was friendly and offered me a sample of the Thai tea before I bought it, which was very nice. I got a stir-fry with pineapple and my Daughter got a pad Thai. My dish was light and fresh I opted for brown rice that was the perfect combination of sticky but not mushy. The pad Thai, however, was absolutely amazing! I ate half of my Daughter's dish. I'm so glad we took a shot at Thai food we will definitely go back.

Delicious food and excellent service. We had a vegetable green curry and red curry — just ask and they will make it completely vegan. We have eaten a lot of Thai food in NYC and elsewhere, and this ranks as one of the best. We sat outside which is great during Covid times. Also serve great craft beers. The wait staff were kind and knowledgeable and efficient. Definitely would come back again.

My boyfriend and I were very pleased with Sweet Basil. The kitchen was a bit backed up (I think due to staffing issues) but our server was very sweet and accommodating. We enjoyed spring rolls, drunken noodles, and pad see ew and it was delicious!! My boyfriend commented it was the best Thai food he has had. Highly recommend!
