The donuts are great and low priced ($5 for half dozen), and the owner is very friendly, but the place feels rundown and dirty. There are items unrelated to the bakery—tapes, gloves, tools, etc.—on the shelves that had a lot of dust on them, and the donuts were in a case in the back. The case holding the donuts looked clean, and the donuts all looked fine to eat. The shop is cash only.
If I could rate things separately on here, I’d give the donuts 4 stars and the building 1 star.

The donuts were very good, but how has NOBODY in these reviews mentioned that the place is basically a beehive??? There must have been at least a hundred bees inside of this super small store. Inside of the donut case, inside of the standing area, the place was literally buzzing!
Another thing that trumps the taste of the donuts is the complete lack of presentation. The place looked closed, no lights on, no open sign, nothing. We sent my son in to see if it was open and surprisingly it was. There wasn't a single light on in the place, and the man who was working there wasn't friendly. In fact, we were greeted with a "what do you need, it's about closing time." He also explained that "the bees get bad this time of year" but, I mean, you are INSIDE of a building here it can't be that hard to control.
We are on a vacation that we take every year over Labor Day, and despite this place's lack of presentation, this place made for one heck of a story when we got back. The donuts WERE good, indeed. Just the place was super sketchy looking and if you were allergic to bees I'm not certain they're actually to die for.......

Friendly service and good baked goods. I wish it was closer, it's a 40 mile drive for me but the closest fresh baked donuts to me in the thumb of Michigan, an otherwise food desert. Take cash as he doesn't accept plastic.

This little place has the best coffee...(and great traditional donuts)...the gentleman running it is old school....uses real heavy cream in the coffee...
