Review Sanyo Restaurant - Lexington

Yum yum!!! We just came here for another dinner in the bar and I love the ease of the space, the friendly staff and the modern decor. The food is also really good. I love that the fried rice has water chestnuts! We also can say after 3 visits that all the bartenders are really good and know how to make some mean martinis ! We will Be back and hope that Lexington comes and explores it more now that it's changed hands and is no longer Yangtze.

Formerly known as Yangtze River. The renovated new space evokes a cozy and refined atmosphere. We came here for dinner and the vegetarian options were fresh and delicious. The dishes are a bit pricey for the small size (and in comparison to Beijing restaurant down the street), but the ingredients seem to be more fresh and the flavors are more pronounced.

The bartender asked me what I usually drink, I answered tequila . He gave me a delicious Ginger margarita. I also got some hot and sour soup that was equally satisfying. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. Thanks Sanyo+

For those of you who remember the old Yangtze River which was in Lexington Center for almost 40 years Sanyo is in the same location. The place has beautifully and expensively remodeled. The luncheon buffet is still available. Food is prepared in small quantities and constantly refreshed. Sushi is available as part of buffet. Great dessert section. Food is excellent. Minor complaints tea is charged per person but is delicious and service was just ok. All in a great place to eat. Buffet is $15.95 per person. Check it out. You will be glad you did.

We just had dinner at Sanyo Lexington and were pleasantly surprised. Food was great and a fabulous menu. Our server, Candy was a delight and very attentive. The place is lovely. Will return soon.

Beautiful new space, but the food is mediocre. The orange flavor chicken was hard and couldn't be chewed. The waiter kindly offered to bring another dish. Unfortunately the substitute, shrimp with lobster sauce, was extremely rich and unappetizing. Huge disappointment after its' predecessor, Yangtze, was the local "go to" Chinese restaurant for decades.

Renovated with new owner. Used to be the Yangtze River. I love this place so much more than the old one. Authentic delicious Japanese and Chinese food. Full bar with great bartenders. Place is clean and beautiful. Love the managers and staff.

Sanyo is a very good new restaurant in Lexington Center. Although they have struggled getting started, each time (2) we have gone there we have been pleased with our meals. The previous occupant of that space, Yangtze River Restaurant, had been around for a long time and had gotten a little boring. Sanyo is far more interesting in the variety of dishes on it's menu. We like it.
