Review Wong Wong Chinese Restaurant - Lexington

Was finally ready to eat Chinese again after living in China for 6 years. Honestly, this vegetable chow mien was perhaps better than most noodles I ordered when living in China. Perhaps it was adapted to US tastes (: very filling and satisfying!

I've eaten here weekly since learning about them and it has been great every time. They have the best Chinese food in Lexington area and they have very quick delivery.

The Hidden Gem in Southland Shopping Center. All I can say is that it's worth it. Their Egg Drop Soup is awesome. Their Steamed Dumplings were perfect. Their prices are very affordable. They have a nice variety of food on their menu. Oh yeah, you don't wait long to get your food. The staff is very friendly and polite. So if you're ever on Southland Drive and wanting Chinese food, Wong Wong is the place. They deliver through Door Dash!!

Always fairly happy with my experiences from this restaurant. The picture is of a family combination dinner. A LOT OF FOOD. My only complaint is that often I feel the amount of meat in their dishes is fairly disproportionate to the rest of the ingredients. I've ordered several individual combos and felt I received less meat than i expected for the price. That said, it's your typical fast Americanized Chinese food. Very fast service if you go to pick up. Have not tried delivery. Update: We've been coming to this restaurant since we've lived in the southland area ~4 years. The people who work here, when they get to know your face and regular orders, always treat you like friends. Maybe not chatty old friends, but they recognize you, know your order, and always greet you with a smile. I think restaurants like that are special. The food is Americanized Chinese. They do that genre of food really well, if that is what you're expecting.

Best low key Chinese food in Lexington. Their menu and vast with every item being fresh and flavorful. Delivery is super fast, and everyone is so friendly.

We ordered Christmas dinner from here, $70.00 plus a hefty tip to be exact. I placed our order and they told us it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. We were ecstatic. We get the food, the containers weren't marked letting us know what was in each one. The wings were old and overcooked. I asked for a white sauce on one of my dishes. Got it and it was red with no seasoning. The coconut chicken was dry and the lo mein lacked flavor. We would have gladly waited longer to have our food prepared properly. Needless to say, I'll never eat there again.

Apps are pricey for what you get. Didn't care for food (personal preference) I was told a price and then they charged me a convenience fee without explanation. It was only .84, but she deliberately didn't tell me and that's shady. Won't be returning.

Listen. The best thing on the menu is the "HOT AND SPICY TOFU". Trust me. Even if you don't like Tofu you need to try it. So many of my friends who don't even like tofu end up being obsessed. It's crunchy tofu with lots of vegetables in this amazing sauce. Wong Wong if you are reading this I love you! I moved to Chicago and there is not a single restaurant here that has tofu with the same flavor. Give it a try!

Good enough, convenient.. Everyone seems to be overreacting when they says its terrible. Its not the best chinese food I've had but certainly not the worst. Reasonable and quick if you live near it. Would recommend it, just moved here in 2013 and its my Chinese food go to.

I ordered schezwan chicken and the chicken lo mein. Hopeless food. Slow delivery. Will never order again. The chicken dish I ordered barely had any chicken. just vegetables and rice. The lo mein was oily again with almost no chicken. sincere advice, Just dont order from here.

It was the one of the worst experience of my life! I ordered a bunch of food through online and even made a confirmation call to make sure they got the order. I waited an hour before I called them back to ask where my food was. They simply said that they delivered it to another place and told me to go there and get my food back. Wtf? But when I went there people had already ate the food(I paid the food with credit card). I had to call wong wong back to ask what they were going to do about it. They did not say a word about their mistake and blamed it on me for telling them wrong address, which is ridiculous because I had the correct address written online and even double checked by phone. So I asked them to apologize first and deliver new food asap, but this guy at the phone doesn't want to apologize and keeps saying that I was the one responsible for the mistake. And later he hung up on me saying that he does not want to hear about it anymore. A minute later, another person called me and asked if I still want the food in a very rude way. And funny thing is they are keep texting me about the things I did wrong to them.<br/>I will never ever eat here and highly recommend others to do the same as well.

Very good delivery Chinese food. Tried the General Tso's, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls and crab rangoon. All of which were very good. Generous portions, reasonable prices and quick delivery.

WONG IS RIGHT. The restaurant is pretty standard Chinese--plain decor, the same faded food signs over the counter, no A/C [hot as hell inside], every electronic device is covered with plastic wrap, etc., but the food is good.<br/><br/>I had the garlic chicken, steamed rice and small egg drop soup. Here's what I liked--the chicken pieces were large and velveted while the garlic sauce was spicy with a touch of sweetness [I had not tasted this before in any garlic chicken]. The vegetables were crisp and stir fried perfectly. All egg drop soup is not created equal--some soups are thick [almost gel like], but Wong Wong's is light, more brothy, and egg pieces are silky as they should be.<br/><br/>Wong Wong is good Chinese fare, reasonably priced, and worthy of a second trip.

Solid Delivery Chinese. If your looking for well priced tasty delivery Chinese, Wong Wong is for you. Fast delivery and solid food for the price. Its not the most elegant Chinese ever but pretty damn good. Also the Crab Rangoon is huge you get a ton for your money, but the kung pow is not very spicy I always ask for extra heat.

Something's Changed.... I used to order pretty regularly from Wong Wong but today was the first time I'd ordered in a long time. And I was disappointed. I ordered the Steamed Dumplings and the Crab Rangoon appetizers. The dumplings were good, but the filling of the Crab Rangoon had little to no crab filling or taste. :(<br/><br/>I also ordered the Curry Chicken (Chicken with Curry Sauce). I have ordered it before frequently, and I know that some people have claimed that their food was bland, but I've never thought so. When I opened the container for the curry chicken, I could tell that it didn't look right. I saw that there was about half as much chicken as in when I had ordered there previously, and I saw the chili/pepper flakes in the sauce. I thought I had receieved the wrong order at first so I checked the receipt (correct) and I looked on the menus and saw that there was indeed a little pepper beside the menu item indicating spicy (although it had NEVER been that spicy before), but it was SO spicy that all I got was heat on my tongue and all I could smell was chili. I got little to no curry in both the taste and the aroma. :( I added the soy sauce thinking it would help (never had to add so much before), and added curry powder myself--which helped a bit with the flavor, but in the end, I couldn't finish it. Will miss their luch special, but guess I'll be looking for another Chinese place.

Great food, better prices. My fiancee and I decided to stop by Wong Wong a few days ago for quick lunch on the go. We both ordered General Tso's chicken - a dish I have had several times and one of my favorite dishes to order at Chinese restaurants. For about $5 each, we both got a sizable portion of General Tso's chicken, a huge serving of pork fried rice and a coke. The chicken was served steaming hot and delicious. I have not had a better dish of General Tso's chicken anywhere, it was really superb and quite surprising. The rice was about average for pork fried rice, nothing special but not bad either and just the right amount of moisture. I'll definitely be eating there again. At 2 filling meals for 10 bucks it's a steal.

Great food. Wong Wong is a great addition to the Southland neighborhood. It has delicious food, good prices and huge portions. I liked the wonton soup for it is loaded with wonton.

Bland food, poor quality. The food needed seasoning, very bland. The seafood delight was filled with cheap imitation crab the had unrolled in to nasty chewy strips. The octopus was very chewy. The egg rolls where about half the size of other places I've been. Just overall unimpressed.
