Lexington Seafood Co.

Was scrambling last minute to find live Lobster for my girlfriends birthday dinner. Needed them by Saturday called on a Wednesday without high hopes. The gentleman that answered the phone was super polite and accomidating, and said he could get them by Friday. My order for x2, 1 1/2 lbs live lobsters was placed. Friday morning he had them in shop at 10 am as promised, and BY FAR cheaper than anywhere I vould find online to ship them to me (by half). The girlfriends birthday dinner was a massive success, thanks to them. Highly recommend, and this will here on out be my source for fresh seafood.

What an Absolutely Awesome Experience we had today meeting Mike at Lexington Seafood Co. This gentleman knows his stuff and is a true gem to find in Lexington. We feel like fools for not searching him out sooner. We picked up some Rainbow Trout as well as some Snow Crab for the weekend and we are so excited and will follow up with pictures as well as comments....but if it's anywhere near what we expect, considering the freshness and the overall customer experience, i'm sure it'll be AWESOME!! Thanks Mr. Mike!!!

REVIEW EDIT: Since my prior review, I've been here 2-3 times where the fish I purchased was not fresh. The last time (which is honestly the LAST time I'll go here) our grouper was simply inedible. Such a waste of nearly $17! Before that it was the tuna. Since I eat it raw, I just couldn't take a chance. Bottom line: when it's good its great. But when it's not? Well, I just can't take that risk nor recommend this place any longer to others. Such a shame.... ‐------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been looking for a place to buy some sashimi grade tuna to make poke and its not so easy in Central Kentucky. Until I stumbled upon this place. Its not cheap, but the fresh stuff won't be cheap. Not even on the Florida coastline. Tuna was about $28/lb and I splurged on some grouper too. I can promise you, you won't find fresher fish anywhere (my hubby's from FL and is used to catching this type of fish around the Keys so I know what I'm talking about). The tuna I used made a very good poke, not Hawaii level amazing but that was due to the recipe NOT the tuna. The selection here was wider than what I was expecting and it was a revolving door of customers for a Tuesday. Since we aren't eating out at restaurants, this will definitely be the new go-to for nice dinners at home!

Horrible, overly priced to the brink of price gouging. Bought balsamic vinegar it is absolutely horrible. The seafood looked bad frozen before expiration date as to make money.... shame on them. Had I not been from the beach with a daughter working i the seafood industry, I would have thought this was acceptable

Huge shout out to Lexington Seafood. I discovered the day before NYE that no grocery in Lexington sells live lobsters any longer. In despair I called Lexington Seafood and was told I would have to order them. I did. I picked them up yesterday and we boiled them last night. BEST lobsters I have ever had outside Maine! No more lobsters from yucky grocery tanks for me. These were the real deal! (And their other seafood is excellent too!)
