Overall Best donuts in Lexington- hands down. There cream filled donuts are superb- cream is not too sweet and there's lots of it! Donuts are light and fluffy; not greasy. Service is excellent.
Mikie Steve said it best below: "... I tend to forget about it but in general some of the best donuts in town." Same here, and each and every time I stop by, I am pleasantly surprised and very satisfied by friendly service, good conversation with the regulars at the bar area, and consistently fresh and scrumptious donuts.
We have been fans for years, and even had Donut Days prepare our wedding cake, and they were polite and professional throughout the entire process.
I stop by whenever I am on that side of town, and usually grab some chocolate donuts at the bar area and a coffee to go.
Donut Days is not pretentious, and it has no desire to be; it simply offers quality products at great prices in a welcoming atmosphere. It's an under-the-radar bakery that has been serving Lexington for years, and will continue to do so in the future!
Not on my side of town and I tend to forget about it but in general some of the best donuts in town. Very nice people own and run it. Like the one in Chevy Chase too.
+ Good donuts
+ Decent prices
- They use a "grab sheet" when grabbing the donuts for your order, but often their fingers still end up touching the donuts. The same fingers that touch people's cash.
TIP: These donuts are not as good after day 1. If you buy an assortment and keep some for the next day, eat your plain (or chocolate covered) glazed one(s) the first day and the ones with more intense flavors the next day(s) to compensate. (If you can wait!)
I'm in love with their tea cakes. I got four for my birthday and they're fantastic. I love that we have a bakery like this in town. There's a reason this place has been in business for over 40 years, and I hope it stays that way.
I used to get doughnuts here every Monday with my dad when I was a kid... I completely forgot about this little bakery until I drove right by it and had to stop in just last week. I was greeted by a sweet lady, who if I remember correctly, was the same lady it was 15 years ago. She was very sweet and kind and told her the memories I had there and ordered 6 original glazed doughnuts. And they were AMAZING. So fresh they melt in your mouth. I've been to Krispy Kreme, dough daddy's, and spaldings and this one tops them all second to none!! I will certainly be going back for more in the near future
There is literally none better in the Lexington area.... I've lived here all my life and Spaldings, Krispy Creme, Mondelli's, Doughdaddy's, and every other bakery makes donuts..... But none, and I mean none are as good as Donut Days. The bakery itself is like stepping back into a simpler time. Eating a donut there, takes me back to the 70's when people ate, talked and enjoyed each other's company!! A true gem!! The Day family is still the best bakery family in Lexington!!
Favorite donuts in Lexington. Cheap, guaranteed fresh. Their glazed is thick and filling, the melt-in-your mouth glazed donut. And if you go in the afternoon, say after 5, you get em half price. And they'll still be fresher than anything else you can find in the area. A
Dozen for $3.50? Heaven.
Not as talked about but very good. The donut cream isn't as sweet as some bakeries - and that's a good thing. The cakes and cupcakes look awesome, too!
Donuts are great and atmosphere is classic. It's nice to find a simple place with an excellent mix of really good donuts and good coffee in a class, no frills atmosphere.
Left to right last years bday cake for our girl and this year's cake for our girl. Fawn picked a unicorn theme both years and they delivered. This year was a blank canvas and they knocked it out of the park!!!!
If you ever have an upcoming party or something like that, this is the perfect place to get doughnuts, cookies, or cake in a large amount. Even if you don’t need that many you can get one for yourself and they are amazing. They have coffee too and would be a great place to go in the morning.
I got last week 2 donuts! at Donuts Days, and they were amazing and super delicious!
I love it! Recomended!
I am all about supporting locally owned and run businesses. Donut Days Bakery has been around for years and looks unchanged over the last few decades. (This is a good thing). They have a drive thru window for easy pickups and service is always friendly. In the past, I have gotten King Cakes from them (delicious) and had them make an anniversary cake for the parents (it was exactly what I wanted).
I suggest you stop by for a donut or two. Personally, I like the crullers and double chocolate donuts.
So friendly, good donuts and coffee. One of our favs.
It was just OK. We came from Louisville to visit UK and found this donut shop near. All our donuts just seemed very heavy and greasy. The cookies we got were wonderful though!
