do you ever wish you were at a european bakery on vacation? this place is just like that, lots of standards that are totally reliable, baguettes, sandwich breads etc, and then special treats that are a feast for the eyes and the sweet tooth. also the baked goods are all hyper authentic. they have a deep reverence for tradition. and as others have said, staff is top notch and super friendly.

World class European style breads. Undoubtedly best in town, and quite possibly in the country. For best crust do not pre-slice and ask for a paper bag.

Whenever I stop by, and they have their Pecan tarts for sale, I always make sure to buy one. They taste like my Nana's pecan pies.

The Danish are amazing, with homemade fillings and buttery crusts. Excellent breads, muffins, cookies and much more. The Urban Cheese bread on Saturday is one you have to try. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.

Just happened to walk in on a Saturday and was introduced to a French egg in yo' face. My new favorite breakfast :-)

So many wonderful breads, so little time! I wish we lived closer. Bluegrass Baking will be a *must visit* every time we are in Lexington. Star with the croissants and bowery baguette, then whatever strikes you. Thanks, Jim, for taking time to answer some questions from an aspiring home baker.

Saw this gem while stopped at another store in the area. So glad I pulled in. Fresh breads of all varieties and sweets as well. Purchased a baguette to ho with dinner. Perfectly crunchy outside with soft inside. Delicious. Definitely on my list for my future bread needs.

Had their chicken pot pie pastry thing and their blackberry pastry. Both were so good! Would definitely recommend this place for a snack or for small lunch. I still need to try their bread, I’m sure it’s great as well

Lived in Lexington 15 yrs ago and cannot wait to get back to the bakery. It is the best. They're bread and any sweet are out of this world. Lived in Ann Arbor and they compair to the Sunrise Bakery there.

Fresh bread, made in house every day. Pastries and other delicious goodies. Most everything is priced in 0.25 increments, which makes checkout very fast. Worth a trip, especially just after they open when the selection is best.

Absolutely lovely people. Fast service, even better baked goods. Highly recommend the cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissant, or just a ciabatta to go with dinner.
