Tomo was pretty great. We got seated extremely quickly and the service was great, though you could hear some bickering between staff members on and off while there, which could ruin your mood if it were to persist by the time you visit. Like most Japanese resturaunts the food came out extremely fast and seemed fresh. The food came out so fast that by the time I got my appetizer/side, the food came out not that long after, so pacing is something they should keep a little more in mind. I got seaweed salad, sushi and ramen. The seaweed salad had a nice fresh texture. The sushi was great. Make sure the if you order ramen and you don't eat meat, or pork specifically, that you ask for it without the pork, otherwise you'll get a pork in your ramen. (There are only two options pork or soy ramen, both come with a slice of pork). Overall, great experience!

I went in for sushi, as I've always enjoyed Tomo's sushi. And I was surprised to learn they no longer have sushi, but DO NOT let that keep you from going!!! The new menu is authentic Japanese and just absolutely terrific! There's plenty of sushi joints in town, but this is the only authentic Japanese I know of in Lexington. Do yourself a favor and go!

Prices are indeed a little high for Central KY. Excellent tempura, maybe they would do better as a Soba Restaurant. Sushi should be an appetizer or h'or d'erves. It makes me sick to see people Order so much Sushi at one time . I understand it is popular for Big groups to Order several Plates, but I think its impolite to demand so many different items at Once. Please be considerate to the Chef. They work very hard.

I would probably come here for the ramen and nothing else. But it's worth a try if you enjoy asian food. Skip the spicy chicken though, that was a miss in my opinion, but the apps were good.

Amazing food at a really good price! I got three dishes to split between myself and my son and they were all so good! My son even got ice cream for desert and loved it!

Tomo's food is so good, it will make you feel like you're in one of those foodie animes where the character takes a bite and the atmosphere goes dreamy-looking and they exclaim "SUGOI!" and maybe cry a little and its a little intense and slightly uncomfortable for the viewer because they're just enjoying the food THAT MUCH. I literally wanted to send the chef flowers because the food is just THAT DELICIOUS. Cannot recommend enough. Incredible. Best food in Lex. There, I said it. Go eat Tomo. Go now.

I would've liked to rate this five because the food was great. However, my hubby and I stopped by for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and the wait was over half an hour to get our food. This was a stop before we left Lexington to go back home and neither of us expected it to take quite so long. I would like to go back and try other menu items. The raw nigiri lunch plate I got was fresh and the udon soup was flavorful. I'd never tried udon before but the noodles were nice and filling.
