Service was a little slow, I described exactly how I wanted my steak cooked and had to send it back . Over all the meal was excellent in flavor.

Great hometown restaurant with the BEST BBQ ribs! Wonderful dining experience with the option for carry-out, which is what I have done this evening......ENJOY!! Bbq rib dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, salad with delicious ranch dressing, and rye bread!

We had a most excellent dinner this evening at Whisky's ! The food was delicious and the service was on point! I had the New York Strip with a loaded baked potato with a house salad, my wife had the Delmonico Prime Rib with a loaded baked potato and a house salad, and our daughter had the Chicken Florentine with fries. All of our food was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious ! Our server, Clayton was attentive, polite and on cue every time. He made sure we had everything we needed and he kept our drinks refreshed. There was another young lady who brought us bread and kept our table clean but I didn't catch her name. She was also polite and helpful. Quote possibly the best New York Strip I've ever had, and the service was impeccable. Oh, and our daughter and I each had the chocolate cheesecake for desert. Heavenly ! Thank you, Whisky's! We will be back soon !!

Food and service were stop notch. Traci our server was super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, very helpful and customized our order with no hassle. Not to leave out the table busier who pitched in for the server and made sure our experience was good. Got to sit in post office booth. Loved the atmosphere. Definitely will be back.

This is a greater Cincinnati best kept secret. What a deal! Great prices, great service and wonderful food. We found this place after skiing at Perfect North Ski Resort. You won't be disappointed.

Service was good. However, the Ginger Chicken was terrible. The chicken itself was good but there was very little of it and it was cold. Hardly any rice and mostly broccoli with a piece of pineapple, 2 red pepper slices and one pea pod. The whole plate was swimming in sauce I used my fork to strain the rice and broccoli. Absolutely no ginger flavor more of a sweet and sour sauce. It reminded me of the Maria calender frozen sweet and sour chicken with slightly better chicken. So sweet.. Wedge salad very little bacon and no tomatoes. My husband got the Bannock chicken. There was maybe 3 Oz of chicken (sauce poured on top) with slightly more rice and broccoli than I had. It was also cold it was a Teriyaki sauce. It was also very sweet and not other season. The vegetables were barely cooked still very crunchy best part of the meal.

Good food but a little overpriced. Peanut Cole slaw a MUST try... Amazingly good! Busy on a Saturday night, about an hour wait so go early. Server was so nice and personable. Desserts, not that great - lava cake and apple pie.

First time eating here but we will definitely return! The staff were fantastic and friendly! They were very kind to my 16 month old that wanted to run around and check everything out! Including their mechanical horse! Food was very good.

Average food, not tasteless by any means, but no wow factor either. Peanut cole slaw was unique and very good. Prices were about 25% higher than they should have been, but the portions were most generous. Overall a decent family restaurant.
Nearly Perfect. This is the first time that I've ever had meal at a restaurant and felt the need to discuss it. I came in yesterday at 4 o'clock with two ravenous kids. I know from history that this is the worst time to try to dine, but the little ones needed food NOW.

We started off with wedge salads. They contained more bacon than a blt and more bleu cheese crumbles than bacon. The iceberg lettuce tasted like the chef pulled it out of his garden on the way in. I received a giant half head of lettuce without a single blemish. The clearly house made dressing was the perfect balance of tangy and savory. If I had known how filling this thing was going to be, I wouldn't have ordered the steak.

Our entrees were flat iron steaks. We received perfectly cooked rare and medium-well steaks. The price of these things had me aiming really low, what a surprise. I received a beautiful char on top of a beautiful red steak. The subtle seasonings didn't overpower, but perfectly balanced the steak. The ginger glaze was a delicious surprise. You have to try the mixed vegetables. They are served on a bed of wild rice. The buttery goodness of the sauteed veggies are so awesome with the nuttiness of the rice.

The service was even better than the food. Our waitress was always there when we needed her, but never hovering or interrupting. She was great at navigating us through the menu and dealing with crazy children like mine.

The only slight negative was that glaze. It was delicious but unexpected. If the menu would have mentioned it, I would have declined. That steak didn't need a mask.

I received a meal that was so good that I had to bore strangers with the details, for under twenty bucks. I need to take up gambling or farming so I have an excuse to be in Lawrenceburg more often.

Best ribs in the tri-state. My family and I love Whiskys! We always go here for special occasions. Great food, great service, and always a good time. Must try the peanut slaw!

Awesome Food and Atmosphere!. I had the strip steak and it was hands down the best I have had in a while (Give's Jeff Ruby's a run for his money). My husband had the ribs, they fell off the bone they were so tender and he said they tasted great. Our friends had the Seafood pasta and Strip Steak and they loved them. Nicole was a great waitress!!

Not Bad, but Not Great. I wasn't sure if I wanted to review Whisky's or not simply because I can't rave about the food or service, but I also can't say it's bad either. If you're looking for a place to go eat ribs, steak, or even burgers, stop in and try it. I've eaten there several times as I live in the area, but I'd rather drive to Florence or Cincinnati to eat at a similar type restaurant. I do have to say the potato soup is excellent. The service can sometimes be a little brisk, but I guess that just depends on the server and the time of day. So, here's the bottom line. It's okay--sometimes good, but I'm not in love with it (see my other reviews for this reference).

Great Place. We stopped in for dinner on a Monday night and were seated immediately. The atmosphere is definitely of the romantic variety, as the lighting was dim and candles were lit. I ordered the Sea Bass for around $17, with a "smoked potato". The potato was nothing special... Just a normal baked potato. The sea bass was delicious. The red pepper "sauce" was a little disappointing, as it was just chopped peppers on top of the fish. However, I found the overall flavor to be great. I wouldn't hesitate to return here in the future.

Amazing food, great service, with unique seating. This was our first time here. They seated us in the "post office". Which was a cute old post office cubical. Very romantic. It was really hard to pick what to eat. Everything looked so good. And everything was really good! My scallops were still sizzling when they got to the table and my husband's ribs were fall off the bone tender. And you have to try the peanut cole slaw!! I may never eat cole slaw with out peanuts again!! We will be back!!

Terrible Service, Terrible Food!. We had been to Whiskey's a couple other times, and were never impressed. But this time we went with friends that wanted to try it. Should have known better! The mushroom appetizer tasted like the mushrooms were rotten or dirty or something. Had to eat some bread to get the taste out of my mouth. We had a party of 10, and a couple people tried them just to make sure that it wasn't just me. (I hate to send anything back!) Then my husband got the scallops and they tasted and smelled so strong like ammonia that he had to spit his first bite out. In my life we have NEVER returned 2 items back to the kitchen, and so this was definitely a first. But then, for the service to just be average AT BEST, we can safely say we will never go back. The most disappointing of all though, is that the manager never even showed his/her face. We both worked in restaurants for a LONG time, and KNOW that it is completely unacceptable that the manager not even approach a table such as ours to try to apologize....very sad. And unfortunately there are so few options for eating in Lawrenceburg, that this restaurant will stay open regardless of the poor reviews.

Better ribs than Montgomery. We've been eating at Whiskey's for family holidays and special nights since the 1980's. There's no question their peanut coleslaw is unique and delicious, but the 1/2 rack or whole rack Ribs are the best in the world. Half the price of Montgomery Inn and twice as good! I hear the Delmonico is world class too, as is the Chicken Flourentine. Cocktails are lavish, large and full of booze at prices far less than anywhere. Treat yourself and visit!

Great Place to visit. The food, especially the ribs, are great. Nice variety of atmospheres, inside or on the "porch" more of an outside, but protected from all weather conditions. We prefer the "inside" room with the dark paneling and the old bar along one wall. Service is good and we have never had a bad meal. The "peanut slaw" is to die for. :-)

Don't wast your time unless you want a flavor less steak

Whisky's is GREAT!. Not sure where theses other "people" (critics) are from but Whisky's is a GREAT place. You will NOT leave there hungry, large portions! If you enjoy going to a restaurant housed in two buildings that date back to 1835 & 1850, a nice homey feel style, reasonable prices for good food - to go Whisky's. Otherwise, stay on the east side of I-75 you snobs.

Food is so-so for the price. Rude servers. It used to be a nice place to go. My family won't be visiting again.

Helpful and friendly service. Live in indy, but will be back. Love the peanut. Cole slaw and tasty ribs. Not impressed w.the mashed potatoes! Fresh wedge salad.

Tasty Ribs. I went to Whisky's for dinner tonight and was very happy with my meal and service. The hostess seated me in the bar and the waitress came and got my drink order while I decided what to order. She was right there once I decided and a moment later brought out some bread and my salad. The bread was a rye type, which for a Ruben is fine but not to my tastes otherwise. The salad was good and when I finished she brought out my ribs. The sauce was very good and the meat fell off the bone. I'm glad I only got a half rack because I still had a little room for their chocolate covered cheesecake with raspberry sauce. The cheesecake was awsome. I would definately recomend this place to anyone visiting the area.

We are going there tonight for a dinner! I've never had a bad experience and I absolutely love the family that owns it! Compliments to the chef!!

Best Baby Back Ribs. I work all over the place; spent the first 8 months of the year in Memphis. I'm always looking for good barbecue, so was excited to be in the Memphis area. To my surprise, I found that the best baby back ribs are still the ones at Whiskey's. Their fries are also spiced perfectly to go with bbq. For pulled pork or St. Louis style ribs I'd rather go to Germantown Commissary in Memphis. For baby backs, Whiskey's is it.

Great service. Liked the decor. Enjoyed the burger, sweet potato fries and beer.

Still good but not great. Its worth going there but no way as good as it was.

Susan. I have eaten at Whiskey's many times and tried a variety of items on the menu - food is always excellent! Fresh and good portion sizes. Must try the stuffed mushrooms and cole slaw topped with crushed peanuts. Service is very good and the atmosphere is quaint and relaxing.

Food was great, waiter was absolutely the rudest p.o.s. i've dealt with in a very long time....went for lunch after a day at perfect north with my kids....waiter was short with us during our order, very weirdly dismissive, and, even more bizarre, basically told me my wife was stupid because she didnt know what a drink was that she hadnt ordered anyway while i was in the bar having a smoke....dont get it....no one was there on the day after christmas, except for cops....they must eat for free.....sad to see a once great place sink in the wake of complacency...your move whiskeys......

Not the same as it once was. Instant mashed potatoes is a no no. Sliced bread instead of warm rolls. Smokey room, very disappointed, saving grace was the good service and pleasant waitress. __ ._

AWFUL SERVICE. As a monthly customer of this restaurant, 1/29/11 will keep me away!
I understand they had a few large parties, but with a 6:30 reservation for 3 - at 7:50 we are still in the bar. The hostess comes into the bar and announces to the 4 people near us in that area their table is ready - One of the women comments, wow, we only waited 15 minutes.

My 3 not as good as thier 4? Saw two other groups of 4 seated before us also. WHen I asked the hostess she stated she was trying to fit us at a 2 top?
Our dinners typically with bar tab exceed 125.
Those dollars are going elsewhere - if a fairly regular customer is pushed aside, I guess that new money spends better - oh and I"m sure that that group of 25 that was 40+ minutes late will return for future meals? Word is they were all out of towners.......hope they tipped!

To Whiskey's we must GO !!. Everytime we go skiing at Perfect North,we MUST have
dinner at Whiskey's. I love their cole slaw with peanuts.
Their ribs are tender and have the BEST sauce. You
MUST have the stuffed mushrooms ! They are to die for!!
I can not wait till next weekend when we will be there.
Fabulous Foodie
Yum!. Whisky's is so good, my favorite place to eat in Lawrenceburg! The setting is very quaint and romantic.. a great place for a date night or even for the whole family. ALL of the food was delicious & service was very attentive and polite. I recommend trying the famous Peanut Coleslaw. It sounds weird I know but if you have an adventurous attitude it's delicious! But there are more than enough amazingly delicious appetizers & entrees to please everyone and are also plenty of vegetarian options!

Whiskey's is two connected older buildings one of which was a button factory. The look was turn-of-the-last-century, dimly lit, and inviting. Be sure and check out the restrooms as they both have unique themes.

...wasn't much memorable about Whisky's but if you're passing through - it's not a bad option.
