Salvatore's Italian Restaurant

We have been to Salvatore's on the River in Lawrence several times.We usually sit on the deck. While it was very hot out tonight, we asked the host to sit us in some shade on the deck. Well, he seated us right in the middle of the sun arc and as it moved, we were blasted with it, making it uncomfortable throughout the meal. He seemed VERY disinterested in his work or customers. I think the most disconcerting piece was we were seated against the wrought iron railing and there were spider webs through out the rails! Top of the rails were dirty.I felt like this restaurant used to be so much cleaner. It needs some TLC. Wait staff for the most part, tried hard but they are overshadowed by the cleanliness and the staffing ratio which caused a long wait time just to start with WATER. For the ambiance they are trying to create and the cost of a meal...they need to do some revision and improvement before we return. Its a shame because our salads and entrees themselves, were very decent.

Came here for a Mercy Meal in the conference room. 3 trays of steak tips were ordered for the crowd. When the first tray was completed, we asked if they had more. A server said she saw the others and went back to find them. Came back and she said they were gone. How did two trays of steak tips just magically go missing?!

Some of the best gluten free food around, I love their menu! We have celebrated many of our wedding anniversaries here as well as birthdays! When the weather is nice and warm out, we love to take advantage of the outside deck. When the sun goes down they have lovely views of the sunset! There is also a duck that occasionally flies to it's nest in one of the flower beds hanging off of the porch railing, SO CUTE!
