Cosmos Indian Cafe

Nice experience. Store collection was good when compared with total population of the city. Staffs were helpfull. Price was a bit high, atleast we can buy indian spices and other typically indian things which is most important. Finding prices for many things was a bit difficult but it’s ok. We bought many indian spices and a single packet size of spice was big enough to last for more than two month for a small family (2-3 person). Store was not crowded at al and actually we were the only person shopping at that time. Overall nice experience. I think It’s the only place where we can buy rice at bulk quantity at Lawrence.

The food is great but any dish (14-15 dollars) the meat is chopped off in very small pieces. If I want a soup full of spices, I could done it on my own in my house. The rice quantity is fine. Is the food worth the quantity. Not really. I went so many states and the serve more meat quantity than in any Kansas restaurants. Please do not tell me you can't do it as well. Why in Virginia, New Jersey can do it properly?

This is an Indian store as well as restaurant. There are two other Indian restaurants in Lawrence. Usually I avoid Indian restaurant food as it takes time to digest and doesnt feel like home food. Cosmos has made a lot of updates in the last few months. It was just so-so when they started, but now the food is really good. The pricing is also very competitive, the other two restaurants have become pretty pricey after the pandemic. I recommend this restaurant for take-out as well as dine-in.
