Stopped in for brunch on a Tuesday at 10am with a co worker. KU had just won a national basketball title the night before and this place was packed. There was a wait. But the food and experience was good. I would definitely eat here again, but hopefully when they aren't this busy...
Food was good and the waitress really kind. We tried the roost and vegan hash. Quality vs price was decent. My main reason that the rating stays at a flat 4 is a host name Sue. Sue seemed irritated to be working and even rolled her eyes talking to an elderly woman ahead of me in line to make a reservation. Could be a bad day or the wrong job either way wishing her a better day or a job change.
The food was absolutely delicious! I got a their signature breakfast sandwich and a cappuccino. Delish!! My friend got a whiskey spiked coffee I tasted and that was strong but also good.
I have it 4 stars because the staff was very kind, but never called/text us when or table was ready and they did not check in super often or offer our checks, we had to wave them down to ask. Not a big deal, but it did slow down our time there.
I would definitely eat there again ❤️
What a gem! Great coffee shop with awesome brunch! Nothing we had was lacking in any way. Definitely recommend the french toast and that gravy...OH! My!!!!
Very warm and homey place. Biscuit was buttery and yummy.
I've eaten many weekend breakfasts here, and I've almost always had great experiences. Whether you're choosing from the breakfast or brunch menu, you really can't go wrong with any of the choices. Great iced coffees and cocktails, too.
The only bad part: this place is almost always packed with a hefty wait. Unless you get there early in the morning, you'll probably have a 30-45 minute wait to sit down and order. However, they really do their best to get people in and out as efficiently as possible, and they have good outdoor dining spots to counteract their limited indoor space. I can't really fault them for being a popular spot, so I won't hold that against them; 5/5 stars it is! Definitely recommend for a lazy Saturday morning where you have some time to burn.
Great coffee and breakfast. Left with a pecan roll I can't wait to try. Over an hour wait for breakfast on the Sunday we went. I'm definitely going back to try a Reuben for lunch but not on a Sunday.
