I run a taxi service in Laurel, Mississippi. I love my job. One of the things that really makes it enjoyable is showing our our-of-town guests this beautiful city. When I'm asked about five-star casual dining in town, we have the perfect place; The Loft, in the heart of our historical Downtown business district. For a special evening out, an important business dinner, or a romantic interlude, the Loft is the go-to spot. Fine quality food in an old world atmosphere coupled with an awesome staff make dinner at the Loft a most memorable experience!
Awesome service and excellent food. Positively melt in your mouth. Nice quiet atmosphere. A bit pricey for the average Joe but well worth the money.
Great atmosphere and great food. Don’t pass it up. You’d be denying yourself the finer things in life.
Very long wait, not just for seating (it was a friday night) but also for our food. The waitress was even apologizing for the wait on our food. The steak had a very good flavor as did the coffee encrusted burger, the potato casserole was just mashed potatoes with stuff added in...but they were tasty, mushrooms were also really good. Overall, it was good, we'll probably go back if we're in that city.
Yes. Just yes!
Fried asparagus is so fine for an appetizer. Katlyn at the bar makes the best blackberry martinis.
Yea, the wait can be long. But I can give you the name of some restaurants that don’t have a wait, and you’ll quickly learn WHY! 🤣 a long wait is a sign that the restaurant is GREAT.
One of the best steaks I have ever eaten. I had the bacon wrapped filet of tenderloin. Staff was very nice and efficient.
We called in for a reservation and got to The Loft early. We sat at the bar and enjoyed conversation with Larry (bartender). We changed our seating to the bar for dinner. You can reserve a spot at the bar and spent a good amount of time with a local celeb. We both had redfish and it was great. The potato casserole is sinfully good. Good selection of bourbons to enjoy. Fun evening and a short walk to our B&B. 👍
Excellent place to eat! Food was great! Recommend the fried green tomatoes appetizer and white Sangria! Portions were generous and wait staff was great! Our waitress (I failed to get name) was helpful and attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant .. 2 pasta entrees, 2 glasses of red wine, 2 glasses white sangria, fried green tomatoes, cheesecake with ALL the toppings and tip under $120!!
This was our first experience at The Loft and we were not disappointed. My wife and I arrived shortly after it opened today (Friday) and there were just a few in line in front of us. We were seated within minutes and our server (Austin) arrived at our table within 60 seconds. The Creole Shrimp Pasta and the 14oz Ribeye were delicious. There was a mountain of shrimp on top of the pasta that was enough for 2 meals. Really enjoyed the ambience and the service. Will definitely be returning.
