It was a good experience overall. We kind of had a hard time deciding a dish for my mother in law but a server helped us decide and it was a good choice. We ate chicken bibimbab which was ok, bulgogi which was superb and the jajang myue which was delicious. For our first time there it was a good experience. Servers are very kind and ask you if everything is ok many times. I recommend not to go after 7pm because it gets really busy and everybody is in a rush to empty tables to get more customers as in any other restaurant. It was not as expensive as some people say in the reviews.
I will definitely go back to try other dishes.
I love the atmosphere and staff. The food was so delicious and fresh... I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Must go!!! 🍲🍛👍🏽
We were delighted with the variety, quality & taste of the food. The wait staff is friendly, efficient & informative. Happy customer!
So much bigger than we expected. Absolutely succulent and delicious and full of scallops mussels and calamar
Consistent Excellence. Authentic Korean restaurant in Fort Lauderdale; who knew? This is a family owned business dedicated to quality with a warm friendly atmosphere. The staff is uniformly very good and very attentive. Fair warning, Saturday nights are very busy so if possible go early. The food is fresh, healthy and uniformly excellent. I recommend it highly. If you are looking for a unique dining experience in Broward County give it a try.
Great food, friendly staff. After reading positive reviews decided to give Gabose a try tonight and very glad we did. We had a party of 3 and were seated almost instantly at 7pm. The place was busy so it may be that we just got lucky. We ordered the gamja jun to start. It was good but as a little too greasy- wish it was a little crisper. Two of us ordered salads and the ginger dressing was great. Miso soup also very good. For our main courses we sampled the Bulgogi, Daeji Tofujiga, and the Haemool Kalgugsco. All were fantastic. Portions seem huge, and all the sides were tasty too. It is easy to understand why daeji tofujiga is a comfort food- it was very, very good. Staff was friendly and efficient. The interior is typical strip mall restaurant vibe (though it is not technically in a strip mall) but with food so good who cares about the interior! We will almost certainly go back. Well worth the money. Prices seem reasonable given the amount of food you get.
Good Korean Food. I liked this place. The bolgagi and bon chon were great. This is a good example of Korean food if you are looking for some.
Absolutely delicious!!! Their kimchi is amazing and the waitstaff is attentive and friendly. Ordered two items from the charcoal barbecue menu and they were both divine. I will definitely be back soon!!!
Light and delicious. I've never had Korean food before and didn't know what to expect when I went to Gabose. We had the Korean pancake which was made with leeks and zucchini and was delish. Really large portion, filled a dinner plate and served with a nice soy based sauce. I had no idea the entrees were served with so many sides. They brought out a dozen or so side dishes with our entrees, a Korean version of tapas. All had bright, interesting flavors. While the entree prices might seem high (my chicken was arund $25) given all the sides it's not that bad. We could have easily split one entree. My husband had the short ribs and enjoyed them very much. We opted to have our food cooked in the kitchen versus cooking it ourselves at one of the charcoal tables but will try that next time. The only drawback here is if you are a wine drinker your options are pretty limited. Service was good but our main server didn't speak the best English so communication was a bit of a challenge.
Good food, not so good service.. Average Korean BBQ restaurant, it might be a little pricier than the competitors in the area. If they offer better selection of Banchan, larger portion size and improve customer service this place will be my regular place.
Cute little place in Lauderhill. It's def one of those "off-the-beaten-path" restaurants. I had the Dolsot Bibimbop which comes in a hot, stone pot with beef, veggies, rice and a fried egg all mixed together with a hot sauce. Delicious. And the rice gets crispy! I highly recommend it. The service would be excellent but there's a language barrier. Only 2 servers were fluent enough in English to understand me. Whatever. Delicious food!
Yum!. We have been on the hunt for a place to get decent bulgogi in South Florida forever, and found this place online and figured it was worth a shot. We ordered the bulgogi that I had been craving and another dish that was a spicy chicken in a red sauce. When they brought the food out, they asked if we had eaten Korean food before, which we said only the one dish (bulgogi) and kimchee. They explained what each dish was and how to eat it, and what combinations we might like. They also offered us wooden chopsticks if we needed them since the stainless ones were slippery, but once we got the hang of them they were awesome. They checked on us often, asking how things were or if we needed more of anything. The service was great, the food was amazing (we ate EVERYTHING), and the price was very reasonable. We can't wait to tell friends about this place and then bring them to try something different!
We went for the charcoal bbq totally worth the money for the flavor you get from the charcoal. service was great especially from Susan when she saw us hyper focusing on the bbq she taught us how to enjoy our food while we grill the meat she was very helpful, and funny. The experience will definitely have us coming back
Gabose might have just topped my list for best Asian BBQ grill in SoFlo. The charcoal grill brings out the full flavor from the meat. Even with just the non-marinated boneless short rib, the quality of meat was excellent, tender, and juicy. The condiments being offered with the grill set such as the kimchi is also tasty. Rice and lettuce also comes with the set.
In addition, we ordered the cold buckwheat noodle with beef and had to say it was authentic and well made.
Will for sure drop by again to taste the non BBQ menu which just from the menu, it all looks delicious.
Great fun.
Great food.
Price point felt 10-20% too high, but I could be a cheapskate.
Service was super pleasant so I won't be cheap there.
Try the Korean beer!
American pop music playing was ...well... lame.
No dessert offered???
Hmmmm....
My friends and I had a great time at Gabose. Friendly staff and truly delicious food. Place is always clean and neat. If you are craving Korean BBQ I highly recommend it!.
This place is always a hit whenever I come. The food here is always delicious, especially when we do the BBQ. The cow tongue is exquisite. Try to go in the afternoon as it gets very full for dinner on the weekends.
We had an awesome time here. Recently we went to a Korean BBQ in New York and had a hankering for more. This place surprised us with the charcoal grills! I have to say, their exhaust system is exceptional. I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of smokey smell.
The food was awesome. The condiments for the grill meats were nice and varied. The meats were awesome. We got short rib, both marinated and non marinated, shrimp, and octopus. They were all fantastic.
My only point of improvement is that the lettuce wasn't as fresh looking as it could be and the tongs they provided didn't lock closed so it was hard to find a safe place to put them down.
Otherwise, stellar experience. Will be going again. Several times.
Update 2023: Still amazing. Still love this place. Now they have Gabose Pocha and we wait there when it is full!
Got there at just after open for lunch. Very clean and nicely decorated were my first impressions. We sat at at a grilling table and ordered from the charcoal cooking menu and had marinated beef rib, shrimp, and pork. It was a fun experience cooking over the charcoals and the beef and shrimp especially came out very good. You can order more if you underestimate the appetites at the table.
Food is delicious, ordered 4 dishes for 2 people, and we stuffed ourselves coming out from that place. Love it and would go back again.
Delicious!!!! My 1st time eating Korean food ( other then kimchi or BBQ) and the food was amazing.
Gabose has turned into my new favorite restaurant, everything I have ever ordered here is delicious! Very attentive servers all willing to explain the dishes + side dishes. I have brought 3 friends here and each absolutely loved it! Can’t say enough good things about Gabose <3
