Island Flavor

Recently visited this location and had a mix plate of Furikake Chicken/Roast Pork. It was good but not the same as it was years back. Used to go to the Durango location back then and I feel the Furikake Chicken tasted better (more flavorful/breading was different also). There were talks that the original owner sold it years ago so that may be the reason. Also their Mac salad has changed in taste and portion so that’s another bummer. Staff was great though. Very welcoming and quick to prepare the food. Will go back to the Durango location next time to see if that location has changed drastically also.

The food was delicious. Had gotten a mixed plate (teriyaki+ katsu) and then a regular katsu plate with gravy. Teriyaki sauce was delicious - not too salty. The katsu sauce was more vinegary ketchup than anything so I didn't particularly like that. The gravy though was delicious and done correctly. Katsu chicken was fried well and cooked perfectly. Mac was a little looser than I'm used to but it was good. Now as far as service goes, it would have been a 3 if it weren't for the cashier handling the orders because he was very nice, apologetic for the long wait time and my order not being correct. Granted I came at 5:20 pm when they close at 7pm so I realize they were busy and am taking that into account. I ordered to go, sat down and sat there until 6:08 pm. Initially the cooks got my mixed plate order wrong so they had to refire that. I had attempted to call in 15 mins before my arrival to place the order in general but no one answered both times I called. So long story short - this is not an express place at all, but the food was delicious so if you're willing to wait - absolutely go for it. I probably won't come back to this place as a "grab after work and take home" but rather as a sit down effort where I have the dedicated time to do so.

Everything in the picture cost $3.20 (taxes included). As a first-time customer, I got $10 off. This was unbelievable when the cashier rang me up. He also said that once I download their app, I will get another $10 off. It's not only the price and steep discounts, the portion sizes are huge as well. The most popular is their 2 scoops of rice, side of mac salad, and any meat of your choice. The macaroni salad is the jewel in their crown. I can eat it all day. They have amazing deserts and guava canned drinks on sale. I'm about to download the app. Food was very tasty. The staff and their generosity blew me away.

This place is one of those restaurants that are considered a hole in the wall. Cant really expect much until you order. Even though they were out of some the things I wanted, it wasn't a problem. It happens. However, I did get the Pokè and boy I was not disappointed. Very tasty and well proportioned.

Huge portions and Hawaiian dishes in Las Vegas! Pros: Huge portions, reasonable prices, variety of Hawaiian dishes, friendly service. Cons: Can get very busy, seating is limited. Went to Island Flavor for lunch on our first day in Vegas, recommended by a friend who is now a resident. It is a fairly small place with somewhat limited seating, especially during the busy hours. I ordered the steak combo which came with a side of rice and macaroni salad. The portions were huge and they were generous with the steak. The sauce was a little heavy on the sweet and salty and the dish relied heavily on it. Would have preferred a bit more seasoning on the meat itself. Overall, a great place to go for delicious Hawaiian food and if you're really hungry, thanks to the large portions they serve.
