Review China Mama - Las Vegas

Glennavelle Manarang
This place is cozy with a beautiful ambiance. The food is not a typical Chinese, cooking style with a different twist. Their food is well seasoned. However, the portion is only good for at least 2-3 people especially when you have a big appetite. Service is quick & the food was ready within minutes.

First time for us at the new location for China MaMa!! The space is absolutely gorgeous. Comfortable seating in a beautiful environment. We started with the Hot and Sour soup which was excellent. Anyone who loves this soup knows how many mediocre bowls are served around the city. This Hot and Sour soup is unique in it's texture and taste. The Kung Pao Chicken, which might be the best I have ever had, was delivered and the sauce was out of this world. Both dishes, though commonplace, are set apart by the subtle flavors in their sauces. We followed up with the Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs which were also very good The very friendly, helpful staff kept the table clear without being invasive. Our first time here was enjoyable and tasty!!

The food was beyond amazing! We waited about 2.5 hours but it was well worth it. If you have a party of 6 or more, make sure you make a reservation, which makes it a lot easier. I still think about the crispy beef and can't wait for my next trip to Las vegas.

Saw this place on social media and right away we wanted to try it. We tried to go couple of times before and there were long wait times so we left. Today we finally got a chance to try it. The food was good and came out fast, good thing because we were hungry. We got crispy beef, shrimp fried rice, mama's special chow mein, pork soup dumpling, mama's special pan fried pork buns, and hot and sour soup. The portions are generous and there plenty of leftovers.

Taste of mama. It is beyond good! The price is unbelievable reasonable and the quantity is huge! Staffs are very nice and cute. The taste reminds me my childhood in China. Will recommend for everyone who likes northern Chinese food. It is much better than some restaurants in Chinatown.

Hands down the best Chinese food spot in vegas. It has started to gain popularity so there is usually a wait. Buts it's definitely worth it. We try something new nearly every time. Food is full of flavor!

The size of the restaurant is a little on the small side so be prepared to have a wait of about an hour if you come during peak hours. The service was great, and overall I thought the food was good. Some of the dishes seemed to be a little too Americanized as they were lacking in what I consider more of the traditional umami flavors and instead had more sweetness than I'm used to for food served at a Chinatown restaurant. It was definitely good enough to come back again, but will need to make sure they bring plenty of chili oil and soy sauce to the table to emphasize more of the umami flavor.

Hate to be cliché, but the hype is real. I've been hearing about this place for years and finally made it. It's a bit more expensive than I would like, but the food was really good. Be prepared to wait for a table and for your food, as it is always busy and everything is made to order. The size of the place, the quality of the food, the overall atmosphere, and the fact that they give you hot tea with your meal make it feel authentic and really made me think of my trip to Hong Kong a few years ago.

Reservations are accepted Mon-Thurs for groups of 6 or more. Restaurant closes from 2:30-4:30pm daily. My experience on a Monday: Stood in line outside the restaurant at 4pm, there were more than a handful of people already waiting before us, and was seated promptly once the restaurant opened at 4:30pm. We ordered the mapo tofu, crispy beef, chow mein, orange chicken, fried pork dumplings, shrimp spring roll and steamed juicy pork buns. Steamed rice is not provided when entrees are ordered, they come as single servings for $1. We were warned that the special pan fried pork buns would take 45mins to be made. The staff was friendly and provided recommendations when asked. They were attentive for drink refills and if we needed anything else. The food was reasonably priced for the portions provided. Our bill came to $150 (with tip). We arrived at 4pm and was done by 5:30pm. The wait list at that point was over 2hrs. Another thing to note-this is located in a plaza with other must try restaurants and the parking can be problematic.
