For a buffet the food is really good. The fact there were a number of tables with Indians is also a good sign. I recent had the worst Gulab Jamun and gave that restaurant a bad review. The Gulab Jamun here was excellent. The price of the buffet is very reasonable. I highly recommend it.

Located on West Sahara Avenue and easily overshadowed as it sits low in the Mariana’s Supermarket parking lot, Mt. Everest India’s Cuisine has been serving Las Vegas a wide variety of Northern Indian specialties since 2009, the full dinner menu replaced by an $11.99 lunch buffet 7-days a week from eleven o’clock until 3pm.

Family owned and operated, the space essentially a fifty-seat box with limited lighting thanks to heavy curtains, those entering Mt Everest will pick up the scent of Cumin and Turmeric before even opening the street-facing front door, a staff member tucked into a hostess booth to the right offering greetings while one of two young men offer a choice of seating options.

A simple operation a lunch, Televisions displaying Indian Music Videos providing entertainment above steamer trays containing approximately two-dozen choices, it is with a basket of Butter Naan that the meal starts as diners gather plates and small bowls, the majority of the protein centered around Chicken though a look at the dinner menu shows a much greater variety including Lamb and Seafood.

Admittedly a little underwhelmed by the Naan, the two wedges provided flatter than that found elsewhere and a bit dry when taken on their own, the Bread nonetheless proved serviceable for scooping up tangy Raita or creamy Spinach with small chunks of springy Cheese mixed in, the vibrant orange Rice as fluffy as Basmati with a hint of Nuts and light Sugar that went very nicely with the baked Eggplant and Potato dish as well as the spicier flavors to follow.

Finding Potato and Onion Samosa’s downright addictive while similarly flavored Pakora came across a bit too oily, Goat Curry was a welcomed sight that packed a lot of heat around tender bone-in chunks of Meat that proved to be worth the effort, the Tandoori Chicken varying from piece to piece in terms of moistness while the Malai Kofta ate something like big Gnocchi in a base rife with Onions and Tomatoes in a creamy base.

Drawn to the Chili Chicken against better judgement, the fear of indigestion at work looming, it was surprising how well Mt. Everest’s Chefs managed to balance the Peppers with pungent notes of Garlic and Ginger, the Yellow Dal scooped up with Naan clearly the source of a lot of the Turmeric mentioned earlier while ubiquitous Tikka Masala featured big slices of Chicken Breast bathed in a sauce milder than many with a notable linger of Coconut.

Finishing off the rest of the Naan with Mango Chutney, the Jelly-like spread also a nice addition to Rice Pudding served room temperature with restrained Sugar, those looking for something sweeter should turn their attention to the hot tray of Gajar Halwa tucked amidst the savory items, the natural sweetness of ground Carrots ramped up by Fruit, Nuts and Cardamom – basically liquid Carrot Cake without the flour.

Admittedly no expert on ethnic Buffets of any sort, the low prices that attract many raising suspicion about ingredients, Mt. Everest executes the majority of its dishes well while offering a good variety at a fair price, the intrinsic limitations of serving from steamer trays mitigated by a good crowd that sees items replenished frequently.

Excellent. For $10.99, you'll get a lunch buffet of steaming hot rice, curries, chicken tandoori, masala, salads, and fresh naan bread. A special shout out to Gulab Jamun. I felt dubious at first. What the hell are these copper colored balls floating in a steamy translucent mixture? It looked like something out of Alien. But I was proven wrong. They were sweet, fragrant, and the perfect size. It was like a sponge donut soaked in a sweet sauce. So good! They were the perfect end note after a hearty meal.

The ambience is cute, too: white linen tables, nice glasses and silverware and a television showing Indian pop culture. Fabulous. Plenty of parking around the restaurant and the service was excellent throughout. I will gladly come here again if a pang for Indian food sparked.

A++ in food and customer service!. We were out of towners in Vegas for New Years who were craving Indian food. We decided to go to Mt. Everest and my gosh, we ABSOLUTELY loved it. The buffet had great vegetarian and meat selections. Every dish in the buffet tasted different than the last one and had so much flavor. I am Indian, so I know my Indian food. This place really reminded me of home cooked food. The owner and the servers were really attentive and made sure we always had naan and water on our table. They cleared out plates as soon as we were done. Because it was new years, the owner came and gave me and my friend a rose stem each and wished us a happy new year. It was a great gesture! (And no he wasn't hitting on us, we were there with our husbands!) He was genuinely a really nice person and they get an A++ in food as well as customer service!

We ate at Mt Everest for dinner on a Sat night and we loved it. We shared the sampler meal that came with an appetizer and then a platter of several meals. The food was great (I used to love in London and am familiar with Indian food). Our service was good too. Our waiter frequently refilled our drinks and was knowledgeable of the menu. Our bill was $33 for two of us and a beer. Overall we were really impressed!

Yeah, it was ok. Service was mediocre, but most of the food was good.. Ok. I've wanted to try this place since I moved here two months ago and finally got the chance over the weekend. When I entered the place for lunch they had maybe four tables sat, and I was rushed to a booth, but before I sat I wanted to know what vegetarian was available on the buffet, and I was rudely told, "we have lots of stuff. Go Look!" Wow, I thought to myself, calm down! To my surprise they had ALL THREE of my favourites on offer that day!!! Daal Makhani, Malai Kofta, AND Saag Paneer!!! How cool was THAT!!!! Well, it was cool till I sat down. The Daal and Malai Kofta were GREAT, but sadly the Saag Paneer was burnt. The same guy who shouted at me to look at the buffet tried to tell me it was "Smoked" and cooked for a long time. Hahahaha! Funny Indian, I know when something is burnt! He said that people like cooking the Saag Paneer long and giving it that smokey flavour. Well, let me tell you, people may love stewed dishes, I for one enjoy a long simmered dish, but NOT A BURNT ONE. The only people I know who enjoy their food burnt are Native Americans with their meat, but this is Indian food.
The service was mediocre at best.
The food was good, minus the burnt, I'm sorry, "smokey" saag panner. The Samosas were cold in the middle too.
Will I give them another chance? Sure. But for $10 for the lunch buffet, you can't go wrong.

Horrible service. We received pappadum plus delicious tamarind and mint sauces to begin our meal and after an exceptionally long wait we received our aloo tiki, deep fried mashed potatoes, which were overdone and virtually inedible. A few minutes later the remainder of our meal, chicken makahani, lamb saag, plain basmati rice and kabuli naan (stuffed with raisins and nuts) appeared. The naan was flat as a pancake and the filling was very bland. Both entrees were large and delicious though the lamb was on the tough side. We concluded the meal with a shared portion of carrot halwa which was a bit too sweet.

Service, other then by the busboy, was abysmal from start to finish. The sole waiter, I am guessing the owner, sat in a booth across the room from us playing with a cell phone and never once looked in our direction to determine if we or any of the other diners needed anything. I had to call the busboy over to get our check and then it took the waiter an inordinate amount of time for the waiter/owner to process the payment.

I love this place. Being from England, this us the closest thing I've found to 'back home'. Friendly owner. Will give extra and tailor heat to your preference.

Mr. Everest is an Indian restaurant worth praising. From their warm ambiance to the delectable menu, it's an inviting experience. The staff is attentive, and the service is impeccable. The dishes are rich in flavor, especially their aromatic curries and tandoori delights. Their diverse selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options caters to everyone's preferences. The traditional Indian desserts are a delightful way to end the meal. Overall, Mr. Everest is an excellent dining destination for Indian cuisine enthusiasts. Highly recommended!

The chai and samosas were really good, would strongly recommend the place. Warm and cozy place for a family meal. They even helped heat up my personal food.

Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to eat some Chicken Momos. Let's go crazy. Let's go nuts. Oh man what an appetizer but there is much more to talk about when I visited Mt. Everest India's Cuisine on west Sahara. Actually the first time I had a taste of this place was when my managers at work brought food from Everest for me and my coworkers. So this review will be two for the price of one...or something like that. The first time I ordered some Chicken Biryani and Chicken Momos. The food came hot to our workplace which is about 15 minutes away from the restaurant. The dishes that already contain hot and spicy ingredients will arrive as is unless you make the call for it to be less or more spicy. But just a heads up this place does not play around when it comes to the spices and even with my heat tolerance I can tell some dishes will pack a punch. Especially if you are not used to eating spicy food. The Chicken Biryani was delicious with its spicy Jasmine rice and tender chicken. You can taste the ingredients with every bite but it's not overwhelming. But then my world was rocked when I took my first bite of the Chicken Momo. I sat at my workplace table expecting some Chinese clone of a steamed dumpling. Oh no way Jose this was something different. The soft shiny dough wrapping the chicken was slightly thick yet chewy, but it's a texture I absolutely enjoyed. The chicken minced with the veggies inside each dumpling was extraordinarily delicious. It was less salty than it's Chinese counterpart and the flavor had the consistency of a chicken meatball packed with herbs and spices. I've never had such good quality dumplings like these and this comes from someone who enjoys dim sums, gyozas, and other chicken dumplings from all over Las Vegas. These are by far my favorite steamed chicken dumplings and easily a top ten appetizer on my humble list. The second time with Everest was when I finally visited the restaurant and I must say it's a hole in the wall. Not the prettiest location with some small litter on the floor and a lively group of people from all walks of life. Despite all that I reordered the Chicken Momos and this time the Tibetan style noodles with chicken joined the Momos as a partner in crime. They also handed me some Papadom crackers with tamarind and mint cilantro sauce for dipping. Yummy! My Chicken Momos came with an orange sauce which I believe was some kind of peanut sauce but I dipped some Momos in the tamarind sauce and thought it tasted better. But that's just me! The Tibetan style noodles were fantastic and again like the Momos I expected some Chinese chow mein clone. Nope! They had a distinct flavor with its veggies and amazing chicken. Although I wish it did have a bit more chicken pieces. I didn't want to mess around with the spicy heat level this time so I went with the mild version. I have no regrets and I know next time to go for the mid level spiciness. The noodles were yellow and had a nice texture to them. The peas in particular were awesome and I just wonder how a small vegetable like the pea can be cooked so well with such flavors. My plate was spotless when I finished it all. Overall it was a good experience and I admit I am barely scratching the surface when it comes to food from India or Tibet in this case. I heard the curry dishes at Everest are excellent so next time I'll try some. When you have a chance go and visit this place and party like it's 1999 with Chicken Momos!

We all were soo hungry and craving for nepali dal bhaat. Luckily we called here, dai was super friendly and even though there wasn't any nepali thali set, he managed us the nepali thali set. Thank you for the hospitality we had a great time over there. Also one of the thali was goat, the curry reminded me of home, like how mom used to cook during dashain.
