Review China Poblano By Jose Andres - Las Vegas

Hungry Rob
China Poblano, a culinary gem that masterfully fuses Chinese and Mexican flavors, left an indelible mark on my taste buds. The restaurant's commitment to innovation shines through in every dish, creating a dining experience that transcends traditional boundaries. The menu is a vibrant tapestry of flavors, blending the bold spices of Chinese cuisine with the rich and diverse tastes of Mexico. From the moment I sampled the dim sum with a Mexican twist to the unforgettable tacos, each dish was a testament to the chef's culinary prowess. A standout was the Peking duck tacos, where the succulent duck perfectly harmonized with the handmade tortillas and vibrant toppings. The marriage of these two distinct culinary traditions was nothing short of brilliant, offering a delightful journey for the palate. The ambiance at China Poblano is equally captivating. The restaurant's design seamlessly blends elements from both cultures, creating a visually stunning and inviting space. The attentive staff further enhanced the dining experience, providing insights into the menu and ensuring every detail was attended to. In summary, China Poblano is a culinary adventure that surpasses expectations. Whether you're a connoisseur of Chinese or Mexican cuisine, or simply seeking a gastronomic exploration, this establishment is a must-visit. The fusion of flavors, coupled with impeccable service and a captivating atmosphere, makes China Poblano a true standout in the world of culinary fusion.

The restaurant isn't really fusion in terms of the dishes, but they offer both cuisines side-by-side to great effect. The mix of Asian and Mexican dishes is strangely seamless and works really nicely. Had the tasting menu and my only complaint is that there was too much food. Great flavours, great visuals and really strong service.

From start to finish, dinner was fun and delicious! We sat at one of the bar areas. All the employees were friendly and attentive - Kenny helped us and he was the absolute best! We decided on the Chef’s Experience for the variety. Starting with chips and salsa and ending with a churro in Mexican hot chocolate sauce, every dish was perfectly prepared and fresh tasting. All the dishes until the 20 Vegetable Fried Rice, are light and small enough portions that you do not feel too full. It would be difficult to choose a stand out because all courses were different and delicious! A fun dinner; would definitely recommend!

It was a bit tricky to find the restaurant. The restaurant name at the entrance was a bit difficult to find. The service was pretty good with different ppl serving us different dishes, and the chief waiter was able to tell us most of the dishes included in “The Chef Experience” menu, with which we decided not to order from them that due to my friends’ allergic restrictions. Sadly though, the food was of average taste and I can definitely find better quality either Chinese or Mexican cuisine here in Vegas! The 3 Viva China Tacos tasted like made of Pig skin! The Rich & Noble Congee is the only dish that I find comfy. I ordered a herbal tea, my friends ordered a beer and another one ordered a Mexican coke. The total bill was over $153, and despite of not enjoying the food that much, I still tipped 30%, due to the fact that the waiter was kind to give us a small dish for free since we booked through capital one CC. and the overall atmosphere is pretty good, though noisy! Overall speaking, if you know authentic Mexican and r authentic northwestern Chinese food quite well, I would suggest to go somewhere else with an “either-or” selection, not “both” cuisine.

Did the meal tasting, and the food just kept coming! My favorite was the shrimp - it had an amazing glaze, rich with flavour. I have had Jose Bazaar at other of his restaurants, and he never disappoints. He has unique pairings and flavors for his creations. Would definitely recommend! The pace of the service was great as well.

From entering to leaving we were happy . The service was great The food is amazing and the vibe is chill. Fresh ingredients! Drinks were good. We ordered the watermelon salad which was bomb! The tuna ceviche with chips Chicken tacos Noodles. We are happy with each item as they all had an amazing twist to it.

We stumbled upon this place while staying close by. Always nice to try a José Andres restaurant. We got the chefs tasting menu and most of the food was very good. The service started out fantastic but things hit a snag about midway through the meal. We had to wait quite a bit for the last 4 items and the bill. Not sure what happened, but it impacted the overall experience

It was an enjoyable experience. We enjoyed the various different types of vegetarian tacos as well as the carnitas taco. The menu has different options as in unique flavors and ingredients. We were able to try what cactus tasted like. It was good. The service was great and the inside was pretty cool. If you are looking for something different, try this place out.

We tried this place in Vegas, on the 2nd floor of the cosmopolitan where there are lots of food choices. On a positive note the service is fast and friendly and it was easy to make a reservation. All the dishes are small so u need to buy several, we purchased 4 for 2 people. The poblano en nogal we received was cold and didn’t come with a knife. Lo mein was our favorite dish and very filling. While it wasn’t terrible, if it’s up to me I wouldn’t choose to eat here again.

It is a nice place to have dinner in Vegas. I recommend the guacamole, it is freshly made in front of you. The noodles should be served with some extra soy or oyster sauce for those who want to eat more spicy or salty.

We had a great time here. The salt air margarita is amazing. We tried a wide variety of food and everything was yummy. By far the best thing we ate was the carnitas. We also had delicious pork buns, dumplings, oat noodles, and fish tacos. We sat at the taco bar which was fun to experience.

This place was so good we ate here twice!! First time was in person and the atmosphere and service was really wonderful. The second time was for take out and the gal that helped me on the phone was very kind, patient and honest about the sizes of the tacos (street taco size is their description) and even made recommendations based on items I thought I wanted and let me take my time as I reviewed the menu to make another selection. We had the table size guacamole, and I mean, what else could I really say? It was delicious and they let you pick your spice preference as well as remove any ingredients as you’d like. The carnitas tacos were fireeee - the photo isn’t the best of these in the takeout box, but I’d eat these over and over again. The chicken taco pictured in the restaurant was delicious. The chicken was well seasoned and very flavorful! We got the La Mian Lo Mein and it was also delicious! 20/10 recommend!

Chinese and Mexican fusion? Hell yes. While you can order traditional Chinese or Mexican dishes, the fun is in the fusion dishes. Tacos with Chinese mushrooms? YES. My only wish is they had even more fusion options on their menu, but needless to say we had a great dinner.

I decided to take my sister to Vegas for her first time. We stayed at the Cosmopolitan (my favorite place to stay). I hadn't tried China Poblano and am glad I did! They are more of a 2 type of restaurant, not a fusion thing. We went for La Hora Feliz (happy hour, 4pm to 630pm at the bar only) What we ordered: Salt Air Margarita - the marg was delicious. Salt Air is awesome. Quesabirria tacos - 1 taco per order. They were hot and tasty. Chicken Siu Mai - yummy with goji berries on top Ji Song - lettuce wraps. If you can't do spicy, be aware they got a good spice! Fried Wontons - Airy crispy goodness! Churros - made to order, with a Mexican hot cocoa mousse. Delicious. Staff was on the ball, quick, and explained everything as it came out. I'll definitely keep this place on my list on go-to's. I'd like to try a lot of other things here.

Went in hungry after a show. No reservations. It was such a pleasant surprise. It’s Chinese food and Mexican food side by side and it works. The space was nice and interesting.

This is a must try. Amazing food, atmosphere, the food portions are not big but we get a variety of items and share. Everything on the menu is yummy. Love this place..

We always make time to come to China Poblano whenever we're in the area and we haven't been disappointed yet! Easily one of my favorite fusion restaurants, the menu is thoughtfully curated and the drink pairings are spectacular. We were at the restaurant during their Agave Tiki Takeover event, and sampled several drinks from that menu. Lime in the Coconut and Hummingbird were particularly tasty drinks. For food, we ordered several a la carte items, plus the tasting menu. For it's price, the tasting menu is a great value, plus the items you get are incredibly delicious. Of particular note were the young coconut ceviche, and the chicken sui mai, both of which I wish I could eat right now. It's also fantastic that you can get dishes that feature queso menonita, as it's impossible to find further north, and is super tasty. Definitely recommend the queso fundito to enjoy this cheese. Road to Xi'an was also very delicious, and well portioned. For dessert, the tasting menu comes with churros, which come paired with hot chocolate espuma, and we also grabbed a Giggling Buddha, which was delicious and very unique looking. We also had a selection of mezcal, so be sure to peruse the menu (or ask for recommendations) while you're here--especially enjoyable at the end of your meal. Great food, combined with great service add up for a meal that we'll be dreaming about for many days to come. Thanks so much! Can't wait to come back again!

Portion sizes are small, but they’re delicious. Perfect because you can try different dishes! Not a fusion restaurant, but more like two restaurants in one.

This was our post dinner dinner, lol. We weren't very hungry when we got there, but I'm sure glad we made a little room. This is my favorite place we ate at in Las Vegas. Please, please get reservations or you may be disappointed. First up: the best margarita I think I've ever had. It has a salt foam on top and it sure does go down easy! A word of caution haha. I was in love with their baos - I think we got bbq ones? I could eat them every day! We also had the shrimp siu mai which had some gold flakes on top, which was fun. Fun atmosphere. Good service. My only regret was that we didn't eat more. I will 100% be back.

Food its great service is nice..... but portions are very small for snack or brunch its good. Its a bit pricey for that kind of portion. Overall ITS OK.

I have been enjoying this place for years when I am in town. Inventive menu and super fresh ingredients. Killer selection of tequila and great vibe and decor in the environment. The service is excellent!

The chicken tacos tasted like the pulled a package of meat from the refrigerator at just slapped it on the grill... No seasoning, no color, bland as all get out!! Then, they had the nerve to cover it in some sauce that was just gross! The shell was cold and limp. The sesame seeds sprinkled on top were the only things with flavor. Their $6 tiny bottle of ginger ale was weak. $25 for 2 tiny terrible tacos and 2 weak bottled drinks... Never again!
Alex Heitlinger
The Chinese food was very good. Enjoyed the dumplings and dan dan noodles. The Mexican food was not great. Tacos were bland and over priced. Fillings under salted and no salsas to bring acid or spice.

Wow, great food. I’m not easy to impress and this food is fabulous! Cute atmosphere and wonderful food. Wow wow wow. Will be back.

The food & service was AMAZING! We all ordered the tasting menu because we didn't know what to order. It was the best thing we could do. We were able to try a little bit of everything. My favorite item was the Taco de Nopales y Queso. OMG! So simple but with so much flavor. Another José Andres menu that doesn't disappoint.

Loved the Mexican China mix. Ate tacos, dim sum and the best orange infused marguirta. Went back a second night, and took dinner back to my room. Our waitress was also highly knowledgeable and made several great recommendations.

Absolutely love this place. Always spot on in food, drink and service! We'll be repeaters for life. Eat the table side guacamole and wash it down with an air margarita!

I can’t help but rave about China Pablano!!! We are super fans. Salt Air Margarita...20 vegetable stir fry. But...I could go on and on. Waitress Katrina ....awesome!!! The new manager Ian ...stopped by to check on us. Surprise dessert...to die for. Stop and try it out!!! You won’t be sorry...you will leave in bliss. We make it work into our Vegas plans every trip.

Food quality has changed, pozole seemed old and very greasy broth, the 21 vegatble fried rice lack freshness, lengua tacos lacked flavor-/ guacamole is always great service is slow chips were excellent tortillas were on point!!

I have been following the famous chef Jose Andrea’s for several years now. It all started at his restaurant in Los Angeles at the SlS Hotel called bazaar. I always have the best experiences with all of his restaurants and this one is no different. Celebrating birthdays this past weekend with family the only setback was my uncle Ralphs tacos were very delayed other than that cocktails appetizers and of course the company was

It’s the worst Chinese food that I’ve ever eaten. Strongly do NOT recommend
Lela Tirona
From the lengua taco, dim sum, twenty vegetables fried rice and ocean's nest everything we ordered were excellent. Our server was exceptional; very knowledgeable, attentive and made good recommendations. We were overall very happy and satisfied with everything. We will definitely be back!
