Review Michael's Bridge Diner - Lancaster

This was an unexpected surprise. Ample parking and a well maintained exterior welcome you, and the large volume of cars suggested it's a popular spot. Interior design is very country, with lots of wood and a wide assortment of game (bears, moose, you name it) visible throughout the place. It's informal - you're greeted by signs of 'seat yourself', and the menus are at the table when you do. Wait staff was friendly and very prompt in providing us with coffee and juice. First great surprise - the coffee is truly excellent - fragrant and bold, but not bitter or burnt, and very clearly fresh. And then there's the food. We had omelettes and a waffle, and they were nothing short of great! Eggs were moist and fluffy, veggies fresh and soft but with just the right crispness left in them. Very rich flavor, but not heavy on fat or salt. One of the better omelettes I've had in years. The waffle was excellent too, with just the right balance between crisp and fluffy, and delicious. This place is a real winner and most certainly worth a return visit. They have chosen to excel where it matters most: great, enjoyable, satisfying food.

What a pleasant surprise, in Lancaster of all places. Seems like the kind of breakfast spot you’d find in northern New England. Certainly not for the faint of heart considering there are lots of dead animals on the wall, but eating under a giant moose is a unique experience. Is it legal to kill mountain lions? Who knows. Anyway, food is traditional, delicious, and affordable. Coffee ain’t too bad, either. Irish hash eggs benedict was incredible! Highly recommended.

This was really good! They were able to find out allergy info, and I had the eggs, bacon and home fries - yum!

Love love love! Other than some occasional long wait to find a seat (totally worth it) I been going her for years and never had a bad experience. Waitstaff are very friendly and food delicious!!! It's also fun if you have kids, many animals to look at. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Excellent Food Large Portions Fast Service. I always get the sausage gravy and biscuits which are outstanding. Sausage gravy is smoky and detectable. Biscuits never burned always cooked to perfection. Wait staff very friendly. Gotta get there early tho! Lines crazy on the weekend.

Fantastic breakfast. Very rustic decor. This is a seat yourself place. Highly suggest the stuffed French toast.

We love this place. Always great food. Always plenty of seating. They have a great menu too. This place has become our go-to breakfast spot. They serve lunch as well. The decor you will either love or hate. Spoiler alert it's a lot of stuffed dead animals.

Food is excellent and so is the staff. They are always busy so Sometimes there's a bit of a wait to get your order in. The taxidermy is a little weird but if you can get past that, it's worth it. Love their chocolate chip pancakes!

Good breakfast food. But the dead animal trophies have become a bit much. A few was ok. And what kind of jack hole kills a beautiful mountain lion ? If you can look past the dead animals, including huge bears it's good breakfast.

A disturbing wildlife mortuary.. Michael's Bridge Diner is quite unusual - a creepy wildlife mortuary that looks like a Wisconsin hunting lodge. A brightly varnished wood paneled interior features the mounted bodies of many rare and endangered animals personally shot and stuffed by, or for, the owner. See an Alaskan Brown Bear - sporting a baseball cap in its afterlife - and a cougar posed as if in a tragically aborted attack on its killer. A photo of the hunters holding high-powered rifles with their feet on a freshly murdered grizzly bear (A fair fight I'm sure) graces the outside of the bathroom. Inside, a cute wooden carved bear obediently holds the vanity mirror in place - who's the Master Race now! The menu is standard American or Diner type fare and is pretty average overall, not great, or particularly generous. Full of senior citizens and families with noisy children, it has a high ceiling that echoes sound. Service is friendly and fast. Coffee is about the weakest I have ever had - suitable only for small children or infants.
