Review Route 66 Restaurant Pa - Lancaster

You don’t come across many halal places that do good American fast food. Case in point a lot of places will serve store bought nuggets on the kids menu that has been lying in the back freezer for years… here you find em fresh. Picky Mrs inhaled a foot long …said best cheesesteak she ever had….nuff said!!

So my family had mixed reviews of this place so I figured I’d settle on a 3 out of 5. My boyfriend got the chicken tiki Marsala sub and absolutely loved it. He also tried everything else that we got, and he loved it too! He stated everything was 5 stars and would love to go back to try more. I got the chicken tenders and fries. The chicken tenders, chicken sandwich, and mozzarella sticks were all coated in Panko, I’m not sure why, I’ve just never liked it. So it wasn’t good to me, nothing against the restaurant though, just my personal preference. Their hand cut fries were amazing though! My son was 50/50. He loved the fries and my chicken tenders, but he didn’t like the chicken sandwich that he got (he stated it tasted like pickles but it did not have pickles on it). So if you’re looking to try something different, or if you enjoy Panko it’s definitely a place for you. The food is reasonably priced and everyone in there seemed nice. If you’re like me and don’t like Panko, I’d try somewhere else. *updated this since the app update let me rate things a little better. Loved the atmosphere (especially the Elvis picture!).

The food was great. Some of my frys had a bit much salt but the sandwich was amazing. The time it took to get my food was short so that's a plus and they didn't rush us when we were ordering which was nice. I wish the milkshake was a little more rich or thick but other than that it was very tasty. Very friendly people left with a smile.

Best cheesesteaks in Lancaster, PA. Their smash burgers are delicious. All kinds of fries (waffle, curly and natural) And old-school milkshakes done RIGHT!! And their NASHVILLE HOTT CHICKEN SANDWICH... let's just say there's more Chicken than bun and the sauce... PERFECT.

The food was solid. I myself had a double cheeseburger and fries. Nice and smashed the way I like it. Though would like just salt and pepper on my burger. They use a seasoning, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. It's not bad it's just not something for me. But that's their way of cooking with is fine. Fresh cut fries were fantastic. Lightly salted, hot, and crispy. Wife got the impossible patty. She said she wasn't hungry but she devoured it. She said it was fantastic! She's a very picky eater. She also had a milkshake which she said was also fantastic. Staff could be a bit more friendly and smile. Great spot. Would definitely return when in the area again!!

First time here, it's a very small restaurant with only a few tables and street parking. I got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and a side of Curly Fries. The chicken for the sandwich is huge, it hangs off both ends of the roll. It did not disappoint! Only downside is because it's such a small restaurant, it was HOT in there where we sat to eat. Might get takeout next time!

Route66 is such an amazing family-owned business! They may close at times for cultural reasons, however, they always post to their Facebook and Instagram the day before! We love the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich! With the food being halal, it’s hand cut, so we never get the nasty pieces of chicken. The chicken also tastes very fresh, and with it thinly cut, it’s always cooked nice and crisp! The fries are also delicious! The mozzarella sticks are my absolute favorite! Route66 does get busy, but be patient, they’re family owned and don’t have many employees. It is SO worth the wait though. Definitely our favorite place to go!

Lived in the neighborhood for years but never stopped in. Finally gave it a shot, wasn't disappointed. The chicken cheese steak is the best I've ever had. Looking forward to trying more things on the menu. As a restaurant veteran I appreciated how the staff worked seamlessly together to get their orders out.

1st time here, really small place. Typical small burger joint. Service was quick and the food was awesome. Fries looked and tasted like fresh cut. Definitely going to come back. Wife is vegetarian and had a falafel burger that was very good, going to try black bean burger next time.

Awesome burgers. Onion rings were excellent. My wife got the cheese steak and said it was the best she ever had. Don't let the appearance fool you. This place is a gem.

Amazing food. One of the best burgers you'll have anywhere. The tandoori and tikka masala chicken cheesesteaks are amongst the best cheesesteaks I've ever had. Obviously not the same thing but they rival the best Philly cheesesteaks in terms of satisfaction that I've ever had. Literally, the best chicken sandwiches in the world! I brought my cousin back here and she totally agrees. Such amazing flavor and prices for what you get. The location is beautifully decorated and definitely gives you a blast to the past to the 50s. If I had the chance, I would go here every day.

If you want to eat the best smash cheeseburger of your life, then stop in at Route66. Also any of their fried chicken sandwiches are also amazing. I live in York PA and I drive over to Lancaster at least once a week just to stop at Route66 and get something to eat that's how good the food is. My go to burger is a triple cheeseburger with a fried egg, fried onions, fried mushrooms, and Route66 sauce. Absolutely amazing!

Don’t make the same mistake I did by not trying this restaurant sooner. Food was absolutely delicious and service was quick!

Great experience here! Staff was fun and friendly and the burger was absolutely amazing. I got the fried cheese and onion with steak fries and a glass bottle sprite and side of ranch which they have the good buttermilk ranch 😋 The fried cheese on the burger was something else I wish more places had, was 16$ or so for everything which is a little high but everything cost so much now with the way things are politically due to the current administration running things... Cheers! Will be coming back another time or 2 while I'm here in the area to try their other Menu items

This is the best cheeseburger I've ever had. It's so hard to describe, because I can't really narrow down why it was so good. It was flavorful and the potato bun really took it to the next level. The fries were good too! My husband and I are so impressed that we will definitely coming back. Also, the staff was pleasant and fast. Overall, a great experience!

they serve the burgers on martins rolls (which are arguably the best rolls in the game) but i can’t eat them because of a milk sensitivity — so i got a hamburger sub instead. Italian bread that was FANTASTIC — very very good. Fries were great, people were kind and polite. Great vibe

The burgers are top notch! Thin crispy edges smash burger style. We got the single the first time and the next day went back for more and ordered the double instead! Got it with the Rt 66 sauce and lettuce and tomato along with onion rings which were amazing, and curly fries & hand cut fries. Both fries were super yummy! Highly recommend this place! Not much seating but we went early and found seating for our family of 5.

We made a quick stop for dinner at this place and were very pleased with the food. The burgers were juicy and super delicious. We ordered chicken tenders for kids and they liked it too. Do not expect a fancy seating inside as it is a small mom and pop kind of shop. But all we wanted was good halal food and they served us well so no complains.

I was reading some of the below comments and was shocked to read what I read. I have been here quite a few times I have recommended this place to other people and they have delivered to my job and I have always had a wonderful experience. The owner does a great job super Pleasant, courteous the burgers are the best in town I have yet to be disappointed!!

Route 66 is undoubtedly one of my favorite restaurants in Lancaster. I'm always recommending it to people. The folks who work there are always easy to talk to. The food fantastic and the variety is enough to not feel like you're getting the same thing each time. If you're thinking it's fast food, the wait will seem a bit long. But think more like a diner. It take's a little longer, but it's definitely worth it.

We (8 of us) stopped in there on our way to the Sight & Sound Theatre in Lancaster. What a wonderful place! I was a little leery when we drove up because of the neighborhood, but I soon got over my uneasiness. The cheese steak sandwich was my first ever, and it was wonderful. Loved the 50's decor, too. The staff was very friendly and even posed for pictures with us. They even provided some deep fried Oreos, free of charge, for the kids, but there were enough for all of us. Never had those before, either. I'll be back the next time we're in that area.

I've been waiting to try this place out for a while, wanted to wait until the typical "new restaurant issues" were worked out, so we waited about three months to go. Friends we were with ordered chicken cheesesteaks, which were tasty and made from chicken breast meat, rather than the shaved pressed stuff. I ordered a double burger, which you can tell was incredibly fresh. The flavor was just fantastic, the buns were toasted perfectly, and the cheese was extra melty. Absolutely amazing food! They also did a really nice job brightening up the place from the last tenant. Bonus: Amoroso rolls. My only complaint is about the service; while I understand mistakes can be made, this was a little over the top. After our two friends were served their cheesesteaks, we waited for our burgers. We watched as other folks came in, got their burgers within a few minutes, and left with their take out. After our friends finished their cheesesteaks, we looked over at the grill and saw it empty - they completely forgot about our order. The lady was apologetic, but after reminding her that we also ordered a milkshake - they still forgot the milkshake and we had to remind them again as we were ready to leave. As an apology gift, she gave us a loyalty card with two punches in it (each punch is for each time you spend $10)... which doesn't really mean anything considering we already spent $20 and would have gotten that anyway. If it weren't for the delicious food, we would never go back and would not recommend this place to anyone. I'll give them another shot, hoping that the terrible service was a one-time off day for them.

I've been in the store a few times and it was good, but we made the mistake of ordering for delivery. After a hour of waiting we called to see what was up, and they told us that it was out for delivery. They claimed to have "got hit," so they were too busy. Another hour went by and we still had not seen anyone. We called and asked to cancel our order, and they told us the manager would be delivering our food soon. We told them we were not paying, but they came and dropped off our food anyway, with no apologies. After two hours. Our burgers and fries were all cold. Our milkshakes were completely thawed, and not the kind we ordered. My strawberry shake was vanilla milk. I was really disappointed, as this place was a vast improvement over the old sandwich factory, but I won't be going again.

Amazing food and some of the best milkshakes around. Really makes you feel like your out west. Also you should try the fried Oreos!
