Review The Belvedere Inn - Lancaster

Adam Kotzman
Beautiful building both inside and out. Bar was lively and their signature cocktails were fabulous. Once we got sat for dinner we had the lobster and crab dip and mushroom arancini were good. The dinners however were not worth the money. Short ribs were very bland and lacked flavor the sides had way to many flavors going on. The Scallops were very good but again the sides were not very complimentary and way to much sauce. If you go here get the appetizers and drinks and call it a night.

I am not one to write reviews but this place absolutely deserves one!! We had such a wonderful experience. My husband and I do not get to go out much. We were celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary. I was able to snag a last minute reservation day off due to a cancellation. I had called the day prior and they had nothing which was a great sign. The woman I spoke to said to call the next day around 1pm after they do confirmations and see if anything opened up. It was our lucky day!! The food, the service, the ambience was GREAT! They had a cute little sign on our table wishing us a happy anniversary. We literally finished everything they brought out, and somehow managed room for dessert which was amazing as well!! We will definitely be back!!

I’ve been to the Belvedere a few times now and I’m so impressed every time! Yesterday my boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary and the restaurant put “Happy Anniversary” cards on our napkins which was such a nice touch! We felt so welcomed by our server Jimmy who was exceptional!! I was sad to see the chef’s crab cakes not on the menu but the lump crab gratinee was the perfect substitute! We also got the mushroom arancini and we both agreed it is one of the greatest things we’ve ever tasted! We now want to spend our anniversary dinner here every year. 10000% recommend! Also, the espresso martini is a must!

I’ve lived in Lancaster for years but came here for the first time for Valentines Day. One of the best fine dining experiences in all of Lancaster and maybe the region. The staff is super friendly and attentive, but give you plenty of space. All of the dishes are unique and super fresh. I always worry about going to fine dining and the portions not being enough, but that was not the case here. If you want a great dinner date, check out the Belvedere.

A phenomenal restaurant!! Food: delicious!!!! I had chicken piccata, lobster bisque. My wife had the salmon. I'm glad I had the piccata. It was a very good and nice portion. The salmon was out of this world Service: perfect! Everyone was friendly and attentive. Our waiter may have been one of the best waiters we've ever had Atmosphere: Wonderfully decorated! I highly recommend

Beautiful restaurant, wonderful service and delicious food. We ordered the Belvedere bread crab salad and the burger. Everything was great. I also ordered the espresso martini under the happy hour offering

The architectural style and interior decoration of the restaurant record the luxurious life of the former owner. There are many delicious restaurants in Lancaster, but dinner in a historic building is more special. Mahi mahi fish was good but no sauce. But the vegetables are mushy and I can't see what it is.

The food can be sometimes a hit or miss, but the Nashville hot chicken tacos and the drinks are amazing the bartenders are really good at making awesome drinks espresso martini is one of the best. It's a nice place to bring family for a nice dinner the bar it's always fun and always get to meet different People have a lot of fun and great atmosphere.

Went to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. First time there. We were really excited because we had heard their food was amazing. From the beginning, our waiter wasn't very friendly. Though he was friendly with the table of four older white people next to us. The food was ok. It looked pretty, but the morrocon salad had a spicy dressing, which ruined it. The beef short ribs didn't have any flavor. Sides with it were good, except for brussle sprouts tasted like they were cooked in bacon fat. Dessert options weren't great. We didn't want anything too sweet or rich because it was late on Sunday night, so we selected their French "Apple tart." It looked like something I could've made at home. Bland puff pastry, with some crumble on top and two dollops of APPLE SAUCE (the kind you feed babies) beside it! And canned whipped cream (by the taste of it!). Disappointed in the food and in the service of our waiter (who may have been overworked, but still managed to chat with people beside us). The place is beautiful inside, though.

Always a pleasure. Between Jamie my favorite server/bartender, the in-season fresh local produce, the ambiance, and the cocktails, this place is a Gem. I do venture out to new places, but when comparing to the consistency and quality of the Belvedere, it almost always disappoints. Highly recommend!

My daughter and I celebrated my birthday here. The staff are very friendly. My table had a happy birthday card from the restaurant with my name printed on it. Food was amazing - freshly and thoughtfully prepared/served (they split dishes for us ahead of time as we were sharing a few things). Our waiter did a wonderful job helping us select items on the menu that we might enjoy. Prices were very reasonable. The outside patio view was exceptional - filled with beautiful greenery (and yet no bugs, to our pleasant surprise). It was absolutely lovely. When we left, a staff member at the front asked how we enjoyed everything. This restaurant truly cares that your entire experience is above and beyond.

My wife and I decided to try the Belvedere for our 1 year anniversary dinner. We have wanted to try this place for awhile but never got around to it. We both had a wonderful evening. The staff were all very friendly and polite. Our waitress was great and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. The food was great and cooked well. I had the elk and my wife the short ribs. Both were tender and flavorful. We enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance.

The Belvedere is always on our list of places to go to celebrate special occasions! We went for our wedding anniversary and we had multiple different members of the staff all wish us Happy Anniversary and they even put a personalized card on our table wishing us a Happy Anniversary, which was very special! Their cocktail selection is fantastic (a personal favorite is the Chocolate Martini and Espresso Martini) and their food is also great! The staff are always very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is very classy and almost makes you feel like you’re on vacation for the few hours you are there. Absolutely recommend!

I wish that I could rate this phenomenal restaurant with more than five stars. All staffs were professional and the host greeted us by name. They even gave us a card with our names printed on it to wish us a Happy 10 Year Anniversary. The food was spectacular and drink choices were great! It was a nice calm atmosphere. Portions were also great! The pictures doesn't do it justice. We don't regret celebrating there at all! We will definitely be going back.

The Food was absolutely Outstanding! First time here recommended by a coworker, Celebrating a job promotion, they handed me a congratulations card which was so thoughtful. The drinks were full to the rim and strong but delicious. Started with the calamari, great flavor especially the pickled Jalapeños with it. The salads were delightful, I had a half ceasar which the dressing must be homemade because it was so delicious. The entree I had was their special bone in ribeye over mashed and charred brussel sprouts with bacon jam. Let me just tell you, Every single bite was an explosion of flavor. The steak was done perfectly Med Rare. The Char on it was very good, topped with bluecheese. And the Brussel sprouts with bacon jam was absolutely fantastic. I then had the vanilla creme Brule. The experience from service to the food was well beyond 5 stars. Definitely a place to remember!

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at The Belvedere. The scallop dish was amazing and my wife loved her duck. The service was also excellent!

Wow! This is a hidden gem. From the outside it looks like a good restaurant, the further in you go the better it gets. There are three areas, downstairs, upstairs terrace and upstairs bar and dine in area. It is a higher end place, but worth every cent you spend there. Menu is long but not overwhelming; it has all that is needed and nit more. There are very few plates that might look overpriced but the rest are absolutely fantastic in flavor, value and creativity of new flavors. The drinks are perfect and an amazing value as well. Street parking and garage parking within walking distance. I will be back many times as there are many more things I want to try.

Service was great, friendly but not familiar, attentive but not intrusive- all round perfect. Food as usual was delightful. Atmosphere is very nice, but not intimate. They have , for lack of a better description, cocoons on the side porch which would be very intimate
