If you're in Lancaster you have to go to Mr. Stickey's. Best cinnamon rolls you'll find anywhere.
Best cinnamon buns I have ever tasted. One of the store workers said they start baking at 3am at this location. I can imagine the smell of cinnamon everywhere. We didn’t like the walnut sticky so much or the maple cream cheese dip. We loved the plain cinnamon buns. Just the right amount of sweet. They said you could freeze them so we bought some plain cinnamon buns to take home. The prices are very reasonable. There are places to sit and eat outside. Next door is some tourist information with a nice gallery of locally made goods and bathrooms.
Mr. Sticky Buns offers delicious and moist buns with big and filling centers, making it an enjoyable and fun snack.
Note that Mr. Sticky Buns lacks indoor seating, but outdoor benches are available for customers to enjoy their treats al fresco.
To start, BEST CINNAMON BUNS/ STICKY BUNS I'VE EVER HAD. They are sweet and soft, but not too sweet you can't eat a whole one in a single sitting (yes, I did this and I don't regret it!) Second, the staff was so friendly, it made my day just to talk to the sweet cashier for a few minutes. Also, when greeting us, the cashier said "Hello ladies." But when looking at us, you could question the "ladies" part, so she said "Hello Folks." It was just a small, inclusive gesture that most would brush off, but it meant a lot. It was a 40 minute drive out here from home, but I would make the drive any day of the week.
Mr. Sticky’s is an unassuming trailer in the visitor bureau parking lot. You could miss it, but don’t. Fantastic cinnamon buns, that come in three styles. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and explained each style in detail.
1) Sticky – Traditional
2) Plain – no glaze
3) Walnut – A sticky bun with a thick layer of walnuts on top. Amazing. A must try!!
There are different flavored dipping sauces available for your plain bun, but I did not try these. Next time we are in Lancaster.
Their original sticky buns are the best! I took 3 dozen of their "mini" sticky buns to work and everyone commented on how they were the best they've ever had. (The mini size is quite large, definitely a great value - please see the attached photo as reference). The sticky buns are always warm and fresh no matter what time of day you get them. I highly recommend!
My wife and I love Lancaster County and it's peaceful road stands and off the beat and path shops. We travel over 2 hours one way to get there and the first stop we make is Mr. Sticky's. We have been visiting this location even before they renovated it. We stopped by just most recently on Saturday 4/15. The lady who works the window was the same that served us a few weeks ago. She is so friendly, efficient and is a joy to the customers.
Let's talk about the Stickies though. Out standard order is 2 original stickies, one maple icing, one vanilla icing, one local milk and a coffee. These are the best sticky buns I have ever had. Loaded with cinnamon and sugar, baked to perfection. Just Amazing. Take it from me and my wife who are both professional Chefs and sweets aficionados, it is worth a dollar and every calorie!
Wow oh wow is all I can say! This is a MUST visit during your trip.
Absolutely the best sticky bun I have ever had.
I have been to all of their locations at one point or another.
My only recommendation would be ask for a warm one or plan on taking it home to heat up.
If you get a cold one, you just wont get the same experience.
Now these rolls are beyond great, but if thats not good enough they will sell you a 4oz. Tub of whipped topping like cream cheese or maple flavor or i think the third flavor was peanut butter. One of these will take the overall flavor over the top.
Decadent and delicious. Choices of four different buns and multiple icing choices as well. It's a good thing I don't line closer or I would have no hope of staying healthy.
