What a nice surprise! I had brisket and ribs, both were delicious. The potato salad was amazing; the greens were the best I've ever had. The manager was greeting and visiting with customers. Highly recommend.
I had a chopped rib sandwich here that was amazing, and it made me wonder why this sandwich isn't offered by more restaurants. Also the peppery cole slaw was really enjoyable. The rest of the family had a variety of things. There may have been a little too much fat in the brisket, according to then, but overall a solid BBQ experience!
Go for the brisket. It's fork tender and perfectly seasoned--no sauce needed. The collard greens, available on weekends, are made tender with a smokey jalapeno vinegar and a little sugar. Finished the feast with a just-right peach cobbler. The friendly owner was going table to table, making sure everyone was enjoying their food. I would eat here again.
I'm thrilled with MJBBQ's catering and loved being able to share Johnny's scrumptious BBQ with my friends and family. Seriously, the rub he uses on his brisket and ribs is other-worldly. Nom.
I just bought my wife and I a 4 rib plate each. Took a bite into the ribs I've heard so much about. Was shocked by the flavor. It is by far the best ribs I've ever had. I must say even the beans are awesome. When I want to treat myself this is where I'm going. Great food and great people. Thank you
Update 5/5/18: Just finished off a 3 meat plate. Sausage,Ribs and Brisket. I'm stuffed and very happy. This good BBQ has us hooked. It's now mandatory for us to eat there at a minimum once a month. So glad Lampasas finally has great BBQ once Again. Thank you Mama Jeans y'all are Awesome!
Great experience! Friendly people, immaculately clean environment and delicious bbq with really generous portions! We literally couldn't finish our two meat plates! Ribs fell off the bone! Lean brisket was tender and flavor filled and the jalapeno sausage was the best!!
We live in Austin and enjoy BBQ as often as possible. Definitely worth the drive out here. Brisket is amazing and so moist. The ribs were delicious as well. No sauce was needed on anything but, was delicious in taste
Eapecually.if you mix a little of their homemade hot sauce in it. On weekends they have collard greens that tasted excellent.we will certainly be back.
Stopped by this place called Johnny Walkers BBQ! Best Brisket I’ve ever eaten!! Green we’re amazing!! Unfortunately they were outta Mac and cheese 😔 but the Manger Toni was kind enough to give me a Peach cobbler instead!!
Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good BBQ!! I’ll be repeat customer.
