Review Norbys Steak & Seafood - Lake Wales

Had an excellent experience last night for dinner. Appetizers were awesome. My steak was perfect as well as the scallops and shrimp. Baked potato was just the way I liked it and I always look forward to the greens! The service was great, too! I highly recommend Norbys Steak and Seafood in Lake Wales!

You would never know to go if you are not from Lake Wales but one of the must dos :) beautiful steaks and lobster! Love their horsey bites and fish dip 🍞🥔🥙🥩🥗🍺🍷🍽️try not to be in a rush as they are a small place ❤️owner is there every night

The quaint ambiance lends itself to a nice rustic meal. Loved the service and food. French dressing is a Catalina French which isn't quite as tasty as Red Lobsters used to be but still good. The garlic bread was delicious and a nice addition to my bowtie alfredo pasta with collard greens and corn. The sweet tea was on point with flavor and was not over brewed. The sweetness level is off the charts so if you enjoy a lightly sweet tea, you will want to order half sweet half unsweetened tea. Overall a great experience and would eat at again!

We have been eating at Norby's for over a dozen years, and have NEVER been disappointed. Yes, there is sometimes a waiting list to get in. But the food is well worth the wait. The steaks served up are fabulous!

Atmosphere tonight, ordered a ribeye, was seasoned perfectly and cooked perfectly. Def would come back. Downfall is there was only 2 couples in the restaurant and no music. Def. Want to try it again on a different day.

The atmosphere was amazing your in the air-conditioning with the feeling of being outside. There is also outside seating. The food was really good to. I will definitely go back.

i came here with my dad because he saw the sign a couple months ago and said he wanted to try it out, so we tried it and we LOVED everything 10/10 will come back again next time im in lake wales. they were perfectly cooked they tasted very good

Really cool atmosphere. I enjoyed just looking around at everything on the walls and ceiling. My waitress was really friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. My steak was cooked perfectly and it tasted amazing. Don't change a thing. I absolutely loved it. I'm surprise to actually be amazed by this spot. It's worth the visit. Well worth it.

Great price on surf and turf (filet mignon & shrimp) with their coupon offer. The Haddock was a bit disappointing but loved the shrimp that came with it! Great service and cool atmosphere with the plants and "greenhouse" kinda setting! Heck when they finish up with complimentary cheesecake, I'm a happy girl 😊

Norby's is a local favorite. The food is fantastic. I have been here frequently. Went last night with my mom and sister. I had the Schnitzel. I started off with the horsey bites which are steak bites on little pieces of garlic toast. The food was very good. The place doesn't look great on the outside but it has a very relaxed atmosphere with an outdoorsy feel even inside. One thing nice about the place is that the service is at just the right pace. You don't wait too long but you're not too rushed either. Another nice feature about the place is that there are no TVs and there's no loud music so you can actually talk to your dining companions.

The best steak, lobster period. Wayne(owner) is great Rhonda(waitress)always takes care of you. Beers in the fridge and bread is by the boat load.

The food is great! They make their own steak sauce which is super good. The atmosphere is friendly and cozy. We had to wait about 20 minutes, but it was worth it. The prices are on par with similar restaurants. I was not able to eat all the food that was served to me, which means yummy leftovers for tomorrow. This is a family friendly place

Not a great looking place but they have a great steak. Just a different setting than I’m used to for eating. But real good food. Pretty good variety to pick from.

Cool little place We were .... Cool little place <br/>We were passing through from Miami <br/>Scallops shrimp and steak were all very good and grilled on fire<br/>Yummy!<br/>Also gave the kids lots of extras like coloring books, jello ice cream and even had shimp and steak on the kids menu<br/>Order the steak one level above your normal taste<br/>Fillet was almost two inches thick<br/>Nice Florida casual dive

Upon arrival, it seems ok from the outside, but once you go "inside" you know you are in for quite an evening. You sit down in a screened in porch at a dingy little table with plastic chairs. Everything on the menu (besides apps) is pricey so it seems like they would have good food. The waitress then proceeded to bring plastic cups to the table. I ordered a salad and what came out was a handful of lettuce, two olives, and a slice of tomato sprinkled with parsley. When the entree came out I was in awe. There was a small serving of everything. I felt like I was a prisoner on death row ordering my final meal. I was not happy with the ambiance, price, or the staff.

The absolute worst.... We have eaten at this restaurant three times and three times too many...I do not know what is worst, the personnel, the food, the ambience, actually the is nothing positive I can say about this restuarant with the exception that we shall never eat there again under any circumstances...

Awesome Find. Regularly traveling back & forth from the Treasure Coaast to Tampa Bay, we were looking for a good spot to eat on the Trip. We were lucky when the first spot to show on our Garmin was Norby's. We read the Urbanspoon reviews and they were all good but warning of the quaintness. I remembered having passed it on many trips and never gave it a second thought. From now on we won't be passing, we will be stopping. Here in the middle of the State of Florida, many miles from the Ocean, they had the freshest Grouper I have had in ages. Wife had the combo, Filet, Scallops and shrimp... delish!!! These folks may not get a second look from those speeding by, only if thet knew that this is a Diamond in the Rough. Can't wait to try their Lobster specials.

Try the steak bites! They are covered in butter, horseradish or garlic, and set on a piece of toast.

What a Great Surprise. Absolutely charming and rustic. Great Service and awesome food.

Norby's is one those hidden treasures, when we were walking in, I said to my wife, "this has got to be a joke!!" But the joke was on me, they have the best steak anywhere around. We live about 40 miles away, and we make the drive just to eat at Norby's. They have awesome Garlic Bites, or Horsy Bites for appetizer, join them on Facebook for special discounts!! The service was awesome as well!!

Great steaks * Funky atmosphere. I eat here every time I'm in Lake Wales. There are just some things you do in certain places. In Lake Wales you go to Bok Tower, you go Spook Hill and you eat at Norby's. Norby's wastes no time nor money on decorations and furniture. The sides and salads aren't anything special either. Norby's steaks and seafood are as good as it gets! Mouthwatering yum! yum! charbroiled to perfection yum! So don't take your girlfriend there to propose, go for a delicious steak!

THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN LAKE WALES. The food is absolutely the best we have ever had! My husband & I work long hours 6+ days a week and we eat most of our meals out. When we eat at Norby's, 2+ times a week, we have enough food for lunch the next day! Once you've been to Norby's, every other restaurant pales in comparison.

I didn't get to stay long. Food was good. But canned soda was a turn off. There is casual, then there is sloppy. Would be great if the loose ends were tied up.

AWESOME. The food - atmosphere - service is GREAT - the steaks are the best I have had in a LONG time - you have to try the garlic bites and lobster tail - to die for - they really take care of the kids also - my whole family LOVED it and will be going back

Food was wonderful! Very home cooked tasting and no facny plate settings so its not a gourmet type steak place. I think the negitive reviews were looking for a cloth napkin steakhouse. The plastic chairs and tables and the indoor/outdoor setup and plants made it feel almost like a family cookout. The staff was really nice and checked in on us regularly but didn't bother us.I got the steak,shrimp, and scallop special which was only $16 with 2 sides,salad and rolls!

Superb Food, Great Prices!!!. Serving the finest steaks and seafood cooked over the flaming grill. My favorite days are Mondays for the wonderful appetizers.... taste, price and quantity. Wednesday for the Seafood Country Boil(includes mussels, shrimp, sausage,sweet corn and red potatoes served with their fantastic garlic bread) and not to forget their cooked to perfection steaks. Excellent Food , outstanding service.

Very casual, and very different.... This is a place cobbled together from plywood and old picnic tables, with plastic sheeting to (help) keep off the rain on a damp day. We had a virtual waterfall next to our table during a T-storm, and a few drops landing on us. Steaks are started on a wood/charcoal grill near the entrance, well marked, but then finished in microwave ovens in the kitchen, which is a creative but very unusual way to assure correct temperature, I think. Prices are remarkably low on the featured steaks, and are a good deal, if not the best available quality meats. No liquor, poor wine selection, cold beer.

My favorite place to eat in Lake Wales!. Once you get past the parking lot, you fall in love with the atmosphere and any doubts that remained are completely wiped away when your perfectly cooked steak is delivered sizzling to your table.<br/><br/>Norby's.<br/><br/>Best. Steaks. Ever.

The place looks bad but great food, atleast the steaks!
