Manny's Original Chophouse- Lake Wales

We went for the food on a recommendation, but found a lively, eclectic decorum, a super waitress named Susie, and a quality product with generous portions that represent an unbeatable value in a family steak house. My wife had a petite sirloin that cut like a filet, and I just couldn't resist the BOGO steak fajitas featured every Wednesday for $17!!! Easily worth the ride from anywhere around Tampa.

This was the 1st time in several visits to this location over the past 2+ years that we've had any problem at all. But, I will say, it won't stop me from coming here in the future. These guys still know what customer service means. 😀 We were a party of 4 & 2 of us had ordered the same thing, the parmesan encrusted grilled chicken. It was delicious. No problems there (I highly recommend it!). Guest #3 ordered a New York strip, well done. And guest #4 ordered a sirloin, medium well. Both came to the table rare. Now, I'm not a red meat connoisseur but, I could definitely tell that the steaks weren't thoroughly cooked. It seemed to me that the cook, who we later found out was relatively new, should have lowered the heat to allow the meat to cook more evenly throughout. It was very, very pink. After they were sent back & returned to the table, both the NY strip & the sirloin were charred on the outside & still, at best, medium on the inside. Pretty much inedible. Long story endless, guest #1 & 2 finished our chicken meals while guests #3 & 4 waited for new, properly cooked steaks. Not ideal. Guest #1 was on their own check, paid, all good. Guest #2 & #4 were together. All we paid for were drinks. Very nice! 👍😁 Guest #3 got a free "to go" dessert to take home with their properly cooked NY strip. So, even though 1/2 our party had issues with the actual food, they made it right, and compensated our entire party accordingly, and we didn't even ask! I found that to be incredibly nice. Of the 3 Manny's Chophouse restaurants that are convenient to us (Winter Haven, Haines City, & Lake Wales), we will still continue to go to this location (Lake Wales) because of the atmosphere, good food, and absolutely amazing customer service! Thank you to our waiter, the cook who did right by us and the manager that made it all happen. You're definitely appreciated!

Update: we visited Manny's again and everything was amazing!!! The restaurant was pretty busy but our waitress was awesome and super attentive. Food came out very quickly for thhe amount of people who were dining in! The country fried steak and prime rib were SO good!! Excellent job by the wait staff and kitchen as well! We stopped here on our way home from a trip. Super cool atmosphere and good service. My steak was quite overcooked and it ordered a margarita which was terrible. But everyone has their off days. My husbands meal was good. We would definitely go back again for a second chance.

Ordered fried mushrooms for an appetizer, it was delicious. Thankfully they were not watery like most are and the crust on them was just right. I had stuffed flounder, it was absolutely amazing. The side dish of black beans and rice was cooked to perfection. The portions are large so be prepared to bring some home with you Will definitely be back again soon!!

Jess our server and bartender was attentive without being obtrusive. The food was excellent and only exceed by the generous hospitality of our server. She made sure that our meal and drinks were served expeditiously. We highly recommend this location for food and good times Thank you
