Kaliki's Hawaiian Shave Ice, Ice Cream And Espresso Parlor

When we first walked in we were not greeted. We were rudely asked if we had been there before. We have not and told them so. Next question is what are you in for shaved ice? Which was a yes. They then pointed out a form at the end of the counter to fill out. They were all upside down and I didn't realize there was another side to it. The girl told me no and that there was another side. Which I then filled out correctly. Should have walked out then. They didn't know their products and acted like they didn't want to be there. My husband wanted the Italian ice red bull which they seemed put out to make and asked him size. We didn't know what sizes they came in so they were rude about that to which point my husband began to get irritated and frustrated with them. Both girls poorly explained everything and were put out if asked any questions. It was a very poor experience. The shaved ice was very good but not served like I have had other places. They put it in a little bowling instead of a stryrofoam cup like other places. Made a mess and not easy to take to go. Wasn't worth the price. And really wasn't any different than regular shaved ice stands in other places. Overall it was over priced and bad customer service. I really wanted to like it but two teenagers that act like they have better places to be was just not good. I don't need a comment from the owner about discussing as I laid out the issues and it is now a manager issue.

The Dole Whip brought me here, and it did not disappoint. Though it's dairy free, it had a creamy texture that melts in your mouth. Fresh pineapple flavor that will remind you of Hawaii. 3 minutes after opening there were 9 people in line, most for ice cream. The bubblegum flavor appears to be wildly popular.

Nothing beats shave ice in Hawaii but since I have failed to figure out a way to bring it back on an airplane with me I am very thankful for Kaliki’s. :) I have been having shave ice since I was a little girl as my Grandparents lived in Hawaii and I found this to be good (most Mainland sno-cones are bad imitations). The reason I gave it four stars was because of the price. It was way to expensive for our family of four to go back. That makes me very sad.

Fun flavorful shaved ice with almost endless customization options which means you should plan on going back! Lots of ice cream flavors and a lot of options for it as well and the ice cream is creamy and the portions are huge. Staff is friendly and will help you through the ordering process. There's several tables with chairs inside the shop to eat there.
