A bit bawdy but never naughty. Good food and a bit of fun. Needs a dart board. Ask the waitress if she ever looks up the kilt of the mannequin on the balcony. Definitely worth a laugh.
Ate here last night. French fries are amazing and the Killarney was fantastic. Miley was a great server.
We really enjoy their food and always make sure to eat there when in town. Only thing is the last couple of times the bagpipe player has not been there
The Best Pub in Louisiana!. So proud to have this awesome pub close to home. The the only thing better than the staff is the food and awesome bar. Best Shepherds Pie I have had since moving back from New York. Last time we had this cocktail that was like a gin version of a Mojito but so much more refreshing. Also try the Michael Collins whiskey I am a big fan. Wish more Lake area folks would get off the butts and go try this place so they can stay open with a full menu late.

Great. This place, you just can't beat it. It has a great vibe to it, not your normal lake charles vibe. The service is always great and so is the food with one exception, I got the Mac dog and the bun was so hard I couldn't cut through it with a fork. But that was only once. No one is perfect. The sandwiches and fried are amazing and all the beer a man can dream of. Don't go there looking for vagina beer.
Wonderful Food, Spirits, and Service! The food here is excellent! the flavors are well blended and complex without being pretentious. Their cheesecake is to die for!
Great Burgers / Beer was Crazy Expensive. Two of us had the MacFarlane Burgers...OMG it was huge and great ! Imagine a great burger; then add a fried (runny) egg, sausage, roasted garlic as toppings !
They had just recently changed beer suppliers and did not have as many choices as claimed; however they were great. Had the Oyster Porterhouse (x2) and the Malleur 10 (x1)....Prices were not listed on the menu; nearly had a heart-attack when I got my bill; $33.80 for 3 beer ! One of my friends was disappointed as they did not have Bangers & Mash !
For the record, I was sitting at the bar when cromanolaw was here. The bar was full, and most of us regular barflies tend to sit at the bar for 3 hours plus. He hovered behind us, never once actually trying to get the bartenders attention. The manager offered to get him a table since the bar was full, but he refused. Also, he needs a new sweater vest; the one he had on was awful. MacFarlane's is wonderful and the bartenders are the best in LC. The food is AMAZING, especially the new Brie appetizer. I've been a regular here since they opened and absolutely love the pub and its staff.
Lots of fun. Not too much for a vegetarian, but they have a GREAT beer selection! Bartenders are always knowledgeable, and know how to steer their customers to the right beer. We have been there several times, and will definitely go back.

Great place!. I love this place! It is so different and full of culture. Their beer options are ENDLESS! The food is unique and everything I have tried has been amazing. Lake Charles needed a place like this!
Wonderful atmosphere, food and service. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the 300+ beer list and made the perfect recommendations for us based on "I like _, so what else would I like?" The atmoshere felt like we were in an Irish or Scottish pub. The staff wore kilts.The atmosphere was intimate and casual. The Shepard Pie was hearty with perfectly cooked lamb and vegetables. Even you've just popped in for a drink, order the honey glazed green beans with bacon, you won't be sorry. Finish any ocassion off with the Drunken Irish Bread Pudding. Different, but the best I have ever had.

To Big Boo. After talking to my manager about your situation I found out a few things. First let me say I love to hear the good and the bad about my restaurant that is the only way that I can make changes to make it better. But when someone makes up things like you did I can only believe it is to be hurtfull. My manager gave me copies of your tickets and guess what your spin dip and your sheperds pie were removed your original ticket. The original tickets total was 42.65 your ending ticket with the spin dip and the sheperds pie removed was 29.43 you might want to take a better look next time. Now for the spind dip going up 50% the original price when we opened two and a half years ago was 6.90 and now it is 7.50 that is an increase of 8 % which is less than most things in the country have gone up in two and a half years. We can not keep the doors open if we dont go up on the food prices when our cost go up. I look forward to further reviews good and bad so we can better ourselfs but please in the future get your fact correct trying to be hurtfull does not help anyone. If you would like just let me know and i will put a copy of your ticket on this site for you to look at. Great place! Wonderful food, awesome beer and a great atmosphere. Jacob and the rest of the gang are always very welcoming. I have never ha any thing here I didn't like.

My manager did not handle the problem that you had correctly and this will be taken care of ASAP. Our spinach dip did go up .60 cents over the past two and a half years due to food cost going up as far as the tast we have not changed the recipe but one off the cooks may not have followed it. For this I am very sorry, and there is no excuse for the problem with the sheperds pie. Please call me on my cell phone so that I can give you a refund. The manager should not have charged you for your meal if it was unsatisfactory. Incredible!!! Food was great- waitress knew SO much about all 200 of thier beers... We decided to let her choose for us and she did great!! He had a burger and I had the spinach and wild mushroom chicken. :) definitely going back!
Very good food. The atmosphere is relaxing. The service is energetic and friendly. I strongly recommend the Irish stew. My wife loves the Kilarney sandwich. We drove over an hour just to have dinner there. We will defiantly be back.
I haven't had anything that wasn't spectacular. Great atmosphere! The bread pudding is the best in Lake Charles!
Enjoy going here regularly. Nice alternative to other available fare. Haven't been to Ireland, but it feels like what I would expect an Irish pub to be.
Had lunch at the bar on VD, so it was crowded. Excellent food and service, with an amazing beer selection. You must go on Tue nights for the trivia fun. Enjoy!
Great Sandwich. I am in Lake Charles every couple of months and typically don't stray too far from my hotel. On my last trip, I was really craving a good Reuben or Pastrami sandwich and I read some reviews of MacFalanes and decided to give them a shot. Boy am I glad I did. The hot Pastrami sandwich was one of the best I have ever had and the fresh made chips were outstanding. I will definitely be stopping here every time that I am in the area.
Hearty Food, Great Staff. I have eaten at MacFarlane's multiple times with friends and family members. Their beer selection is quite impressive, but the strength of their establishment lies in the friendliness, promptness, and accuracy of service. I have enjoyed delicious colcanny, an out of this world prime rib sandwich, and an incredible bread pudding,,,all washed down with a tasty Lambic or Jameson with a splash of Sprite. Each time, we have been promptly seated (whether we had a group of three or ten) and no matter how busy they were, we felt like the only people in the restaurant. I commend the owners and all of the staff on the excellent job they are doing in maintaining consistently good food in a warm, inviting environment.
Crowded, but worth the wait. I showed up by myself during peak dinner hours and was relegated to the bar. Food is delicious and the beer list is comprehensive. I am sure to add it to my rotation next time i am in town. Service was excellent.
Fun place & good food. I like this spot! The atmosphere is cozy, but I wish they'd expand a bit. I hate to wait for a table, and unless you arrive early or late for dinner, you've got a long wait for a table!
The food is delicious; I've never been dissappointed by a dish, but I sometimes have a hard time getting friends to go during the hot summer months because they say the food is too heavy for the climate. I solved that by ordering just an appetizer or the strawberry spinich salad which is WONDERFUL!
I do recommend this place -- especially if you love to try different beers and scotches! Go hungry because the portions are HUGE!

I often order one of their burgers which comes with fries, home made chips or your choice of side. Don't let the $10 price tag scare you. I am a BIG man and I need a to go box. The lamb pot pie is perhaps a little salty but not gamey in the least. Most everything has apple bacon in it.
Pork fat. Oh yeah baby! Dont' come here on a diet but do come hungry. The service is good. The atmosphere is just perfect. The food is very, very good. Do give this place a try.
Lots of really good beers to pick from & great food. The only bad thing I can think of is that they only have one beer on draft. But, that's not that big of a deal.
We came in from out of town...it was worth the 850 miles. The food, service, menu selection, atmosphere & of course the beer selection is OUTSTANDING. We may end up here once a day for this 10 day trip.
About time.... ...we got something like this of the caliber above a chain. Do not let the kilts fool you; the food here is much more English and Irish above Scottish, but most people will like it for what it is all the same. Above average pub fare with a sizable beer list that, while not the largest I have seen, certainly contains some difficult-to-find gems, like Belgian ales, meads and dry stouts.
Huge fan!!. This has to be my favorite place in Lake Charles. The staff is wonderful and super friendly. Everything on the menu is delicious and the beer and scotch selections are out of this world!!!

This place is awesome!! The food, atmosphere the wait staff. It is the best kept secret in Lake Charles. I'm already a regular. I don't even care that much for beer until I tried Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout. Incredible!!
YUM! Amazing food in a charming atmosphere. Large beer selection. Try the potato cakes and Scottish egg for appetizer, and the bread pudding is a must for dessert!! Generous portions, great prices-you'll likely have leftovers to enjoy later!
Tasty. I had the roast beef sandwich dipped. the thing is huuuuge and it was so flavorful. it tasted like it was made with love :)
I have lost count of how many times I have enjoyed this pub. Haven’t been back in a couple years, yet had the opportunity to eat and be merry once again.
I have gotten to know Roland and he is a top notch Manager with a great personality. Our server who was under his wing did a great job in taking care of us. Customer service is top notch.
The food is still awesome and I look forward to eating here once again very soon in the near future. They accommodate groups and parties and I would recommend them to anyone who is hungry and thirsty.
We went with a group of 30 people and the experience was amazing! The food was amazing and the drink selection was really good. We were very impressed with our server. she was friendly, professional, and he knowledge of the different whiskey was a big help.
This place was AMAZING!! The atmosphere was awesome, the food was phenomenal and our waiter Roland was THE BEST!! He had a great attitude, very helpful and one of the best servers we've had (we travel ALOT). This will DEF be our go to spot for future adventures rather we stay local or passing through. I was extremely impressed!!!!
Good service and awesome happy hour! From 2p-6p half off any drink from the bar and 3 appetizers (I don't recall which ones). The Jameson margarita is strong and delicious! I also enjoyed the pub fries which are more of a meal in itself. Super flavorful and piping hot like a meal should be served. They are generous with the cheese and gravy similar to putine fries. I'll definitely return to this spot.
It was really good. We got the Rockefeller oysters. 2 different Irish shots of Scotch. I got the Shepard's pie with green beans, and steamed collards. My husband got the crab cakes which has fried green tomatoes and ruemalude sauce with shrimp. It was all really amazing. I got the honey wine. I forgot what it's called. They have a good selection of real Irish beers, wine, mixed drinks, and liquors.
I love this place! A special Thank You to the chief and the waitress. Date night is beautiful outdoor dog friendly sunset. This is a must try top restaurant!
Great food, service and atmosphere. The seafood cakes were amazing! Way more food than you can eat in one setting. Very pleased with the decision to eat here.
I live 4 hours out of town but almost every time I visit my bf we end up here. Pub fries are great, I get the Mac Burger every time. One of my fav restaurants in LC ❤️
